The Small trick… Part-2.
“Oi oi… This sh*t is getting outta hand!”
The expression on Shin’s face turned solemn as he said those words in an annoyed tone.
He could see that if this altar kept working, then a demon incarnation would likely appear, and the destruction it would cause would be unimaginable.
The demon god’s incarnation can be considered a pseudo-grade-0 existence.
Its power is unimaginable, and dealing with it requires the sacrifice of many grade 1 wizards.
Shin and Thomas were aware that they needed to stop this altar, but they were both powerless.
The barrier around that altar is of the self-repair type, and it won’t break unless the whole altar runs out of power, which is nearly impossible to do for them.
Thomas glanced at Rahnan’s smiling face with a solemn look and said,
“There’s nothing we can do here; it’s actually better if we retreat now…”
Hearing Thomas’s words, Shin couldn’t help but rub his forehead in frustration.
“F*cking bullsh*t! Where will we retreat!? Once fully summoned, the demon incarnation will likely attack the human race! A war for survival will start at that point!”
Demon incarnations usually have a single goal in mind, which is to ‘destroy the human race’, and the reason for this motive is that the demon gods fear humanity.
It was a human who once created the seal of ‘False Dome’, and the human indomitable human spirit isn’t something that should be underestimated.
There are many evil people among humans, many of whom are profiteers, but in every era, a ‘hope’ also emerges amidst this worldly filth.
A ‘Being’ that carries the ‘hope’ of humanity itself.
In peaceful times, this ‘hope’ doesn’t show up much, but when the need arises, a selfless existence is born.
An existence whose brilliance can rival the stars, and whose presence can make the demon gods tremble in fear.
That existence is the reason why the demon gods want to destroy the human race thoroughly.
If they don’t get rid of the human race, then an existence that rivals them in the future will surely appear if given enough time.
And that’s not something a demon wants to see.
They don’t want humans to become their equals, and oppressing the weak is ingrained in the nature of demons, so they want humans to remain weak.
If not for the seal of ‘False Dome’, the demon gods would have directly descended themselves and would have slaughtered the whole human race with their own hands.
Still, although the real body can’t descend into this world, the incarnation is still strong enough to rival the most powerful people in this world.
Unless a ‘Hope’ finally comes true and conquers the new realm, there’s no redemption for the human race.
…
Just when Shin and Thomas were thinking about whether they should retreat or not, they got a message on their smartphones at the exact same time.
Shin removed his smartphone from the inner pocket of his coat and read the message.
[From: Arrogant Punk] (That’s the name that Shin used to save Jareth’s contact info…)
[Retreat to the city walls…]
The message that Jareth sent was extremely short; he didn’t even bother explaining the reasons behind that retreat order.

But Shin and Thomas didn’t dare ignore that message.
If it was a long message, then they would have thought something was wrong, but such a short message meant that the other party was serious and action must be taken immediately.
It’s the logic of veterans of this world when in combat, don’t think too deeply about it.
They have been trained for swift battle communications during their years at the university, so they have mutual understandings on some things.
Seeing the message, Shin and Thomas both nodded their heads and immediately flew away from the central area of the city, retreating towards the city walls.
While flying away, Shin said,
“What plan do you think he has?”
To that, Thomas only shook his head, indicating he had no idea about it; he was just as clueless as Shin was.
When the two of them arrived at the city walls, they noticed Reynald and Jareth standing nearby, so they flew down towards them.
Gazid and Yoseh also arrived at the same time.
“D*amn! Why are you flexing your muscles like that? But you look cool, I guess…”
Shin gave a thumbs up to Jareth when he saw him standing there shirtless.
Jareth sneered at those words and replied in his usual cold tone.
“If you dare to say anything else, I will burn your clothes too…”
Jareth was already feeling annoyed after his shirt got torn, and now that Shin was making fun of it, he felt even more irritated.
Thomas brought out a coat from his space ring and gave it to Jareth.
“Well, I keep ten of them in my space ring just in case I need to change… You can have one…”
Jareth nodded his head and accepted that gift without hesitating.
Yoseh was also there, and Jareth didn’t feel comfortable that a woman other than Shiina was looking at him, so he accepted that coat.
(Bro used to get anxiety attacks in his past life when a beautiful woman stared at him; Shiina cured that habit…)
Gazid glanced at Jareth and said,
“KEKEKEKE, those well-built muscles! I WONDER how it will feel to dissect them! KEKEKEKE”
All of the professors looked at Gazid with strange eyes.
Even Shin shook his head and thought to himself.
‘The heck is he on about? Don’t he know that Jareth will blast him off the face of the earth if he dares to attack him?… well whatever…’
Jareth ignored Gazid’s weird way of talking, as he knew that was just how his character was; there’s no point in correcting him.
That guy sounds and acts like a mad scientist-type villain, but he isn’t actually a villain; he’s just a random character with a weird personality who sells information about monster weaknesses in the game.
Simply put, he used to be a friendly NPC in the game, so Jareth didn’t take much offense from his words, as they were just empty words, spoken due to his peculiar personality.
He’s just like Jareth in that essence; Jareth can’t speak kind words and always ends up speaking coldly. The same is true for Gazid, who can’t talk normally and ends up saying weird and creepy things.
…
Just when all of them were busy chatting with each other, the altar was working at full capacity to digest the souls.
Why are they doing nothing about that alter, you ask?
It’s because they can’t do anything about it, even if they wanted to!!
Rahnan’s shadow is laughing at them while watching them from far away, and all of the professors can sense the mockery in his eyes.
However, they are all powerless against it.
They can’t break that barrier, and there’s no point in getting angry over that mere shadow’s infuriating acts.
Even Jareth can’t break that barrier, as it’s made out of souls, not mana.
If it was made from mana, then he could have destroyed that barrier easily, but things are different now.
Ten thousand souls are powering that barrier; it won’t break so easily.
Reynald glanced at the altar and said it in a calm voice.
“So, what is the plan then?”
Jareth buttoned his coat and replied.
“We will do a perfect combination spell… We five grade-2 mages can make up for one grade-1 if we do a ‘perfect combination’…’
Reynald shook his head and replied.
“Syncing the mana of five grade-2 mages with a grade-1’s mana is impossible; a perfect combination is only possible in theories… It’s not achievable, unless…”
Reynald’s eyes widened as if he had thought of something.
He looked into Jareth’s eyes and said,
“You have awakened the legendary rank skill ‘Mana Singularity’?”
Reynald is not a fool; he has immense knowledge, and he certainly knows all about Mana singularity too.
But even he hasn’t been able to achieve that skill in his lifetime.
Even though he’s a grade-1 mage, his magic control can’t match up to the control that the skill ‘Mana singularity’ gives to its user.
Hearing Reynald’s words, Jareth simply nodded his head.
Now that things have come to this, there is no denying it.
“I was born with it… That’s why I was able to hide my talents from the prying eyes of the hyena’s…”
Reynald knew who Jareth meant by ‘hyena’ and he also knew what Jareth was talking about.
But even then, Reynald was quite surprised.
‘I see… That explains everything! I was also thinking how a person who was rumored to be talentless could have reached grade 2, but it turns out… this guy was hiding his talent all along…’
‘Truly an amazing move! As I thought, you truly are a remarkable person, Jareth Blaze…’
A smile appeared on Reynald’s face, and he walked towards the edge of the city wall.
“Well, if that’s the case, then let’s do this… I also want to see the results that can be achieved through the perfect combination of different magic’s… It is rare to see such a phenomenon in a life time…”
The appearance of a person who can awaken ‘Mana Singularity’ is extremely rare; thus, being able to see a perfect combination spell is extremely rare.
Reynald certainly didn’t want to miss this amazing opportunity, and the other professors were also just as excited as him.
In the hands of ordinary mages, ‘combination spell’ is just a small trick to improve damage.
But in the hands of a person blessed with a ‘Mana singularity’ combination, it can perfectly shine brightly.
As the saying goes, only a true professional can bring out the real value of an asset. (Source: Trust me bro…)
