Chapter 120: Bonding 2
The family bonding games lasted for another two hours with each couple struggling to win the next game but still failing to the undefeated and highly competitive pair.
Blaze and Amelia treated the game like a lucrative business deal that needed to be won at all costs. They were dogged, focused and in sync with each other, wowing their older parents’ audience.
Ranging from the charade games to the the truth and dare game, the animated singing challenge that left everyone completely blown away by Blaze’s sexy baritone singing voice, the human ring toss challenge and finally the face painting game, Blaze and Amelia won each game with a landslide ovation.
Maria couldn’t be happier watching her son’s captivating nature in full display. She clapped and cheered with the rest of the family, almost saddened when the games came to an end. But she couldn’t stop laughing at her son’s funny face painting.
While Blaze artistically transformed his wife’s face into that of a cute cat that tickled his fancy, Amelia intentionally transformed Blaze’s face into that of a funny clown that left everyone cracking their ribs with laughter.
Pictures of each couple’s face painting were captured by Vera and uploaded to the Anderson family’s Whatsapp group page for everyone to see and comment on.
Finally, it was time to reveal the long-awaited mystery prize.
But instead of a fancy car, rare gemstone, high-end accessories or the deeds to a befitting property, the winning couple were given an all-expense paid VIP ticket to one of the best Spa establishments in the countryside.”
“What!” Blaze scrunched his clown face, causing another ripple of laughter amongst his family. “You mean I sold myself to you guys for nothing but a spa at one godforsaken local establishment?”
Another round of laughter erupted amongst the family members, echoing into the calm night.
“The fun is not in the prize, cousin,” Naomi explained, yawning. “The games were all about family bonding, love and companionship. And I must say, you and Amelia are made for each other.”
Amelia’s cheeks reddened in embarrassment at the compliment. She couldn’t agree less with Naomi. But unfortunately, their marriage wasn’t real.
“I think it’s time for us to allow you young and vibrant blood to take this fun to the next level.” Vera winked at Amelia making her blush even harder.
“I completely agree with Mom. I need to rest this tired body.” Naomi stood up with the help of her husband, covering her mouth as another yawn escaped her.
“Goodnight everyone.” Naomi waved as she turned her back in the direction of the mansion.
“Goodnight.” Others chorused.
One by one, all the couples retired to their love nest. But Blaze had one more mission at heart before retiring for the night.
“How about a stroll to the lake?” Blaze said, helping Amelia up to her feet. “We could wash off this face paint there.”
“Umm…Sure!” Amelia was feeling bubbly and lightheaded as Blaze held onto her left hand tenderly.
Following the moonlit path, Blaze and Amelia slowly and silently made their way to the lake, holding hands like young teenagers in love.
They listened to the magical sounds of night creatures announcing their presence, hidden in plain sight. The frogs softly croaked and the crickets continued to rub their wings together, chirping at the distant field and the forest beyond it.
Amelia exhaled, her mind peaceful and her heart fluttering freely like a colourful butterfly as the gentle night breeze blew across her face, playing with the soft coils of her loose hair.
As they slowly approached the lake shore, Amelia marveled at the beauty of the vast placid lake and the way it mirrored the mesmerizing starry night sky. The surface of the lake remained placid, disturbed only by the occasional ripple.
“You did great tonight.” Blaze finally spoke up as they came to a halt at the shore.
“You too,” Amelia replied beaming without looking at him.
“Thanks.” Blaze cleared his throat before asking. “How about a swim?”
“Huh!” Amelia turned sideways to look at him. “I thought we came here to wash our face.”
“Yes and take a swim.” Blaze slowly began to unbutton his shirt.
“I don’t think…”

“Don’t think anything. Just do it. Remember you promised me if I won the game for us, you would surrender yourself to me, tonight.” Blaze winked at her, removing his shirt and dropping it on the dry grassy ground.
“Now he uses, ‘us’? What a cheeky fellow.” Amelia echoed in her heart, looking away as Blaze took the rest of his clothes off, only leaving behind his black boxer briefs.
“Do you need me to help you with your dress?” Blaze stared impatiently at Amelia, desperate to have her in his arms.
“No. I can manage.” Amelia gulped her uneasiness, irritated by her growing needs and the tingling sensation in her core.
“Fine. I wait for you inside the water.”
Amelia tilted her head just in time to see Blaze run into the water and dive into the deeper side of the lake with a splash. She waited breathlessly for him to bring up his head. But when he didn’t after a minute, she began to panic. She hurriedly took off her clothes leaving behind her lace bra and panties. She hurried into the water calling Blaze’s name.
The cold water caused a shiver to run down her spine. But this was nothing compared to the scary thought of an injury and drowning that possessed her mind.
“Blaze!” Amelia screamed diving into the water.
Underneath the water, it was pitch black and she couldn’t see anything. She swam up to the surface, her panic intensifying.
“Blaze!” She called out again but got no response. She took in a deep breath and dived in again, swimming in a zigzag direction. The dissolvable paint slowly came off her face with each stroke of the water.
Coming up to the surface again with no sign of him, Amelia’s panic quadrupled as the eerie thought of death in the lake crippled her heart.
“Oh God!” She was about to scream his name a third when she felt something or someone wrap a powerful hand around her waist from behind, almost giving her a heart attack.
“It’s me.” Blaze pulled her to himself, his deep husky voice rapping in her ear.
“Are you crazy?” Amelia angrily freed herself from him, pushing him away, the thought of slapping him crossing her mind as she turned to face him.
“Maybe,” Blaze said, chuckling at her expense.
“You are so full of shit and this isn’t funny.” She splashed water angrily at his face, disgusted at his wicked prank.
Blaze was moved at the sight of her tears. “Why? Do you care for me that much?”
“No, I don’t. You are so insensitive and you disgust me.” Amelia spat out between gritted teeth, her cheek beet red as she turned around to swim away.
But Blaze quickly went after her, stopping her from getting out of the water.
“Let go of me.” Amelia tried to free herself from his powerful hold, her tears flowing freely into the water. But she was no match for his strength.
“Hey…it was just a prank. Calm down.”
“Do you see me laughing?” Amelia lashed out at him, hitting him on the chest with her free hand. “How dare you pull that kind of prank on me? How dare you frighten me with death when you know I have lost someone before? Don’t you have a heart?”
Blaze instantly regretted his actions as Amelia broke down in tears.
“Hey…shh…I’m sorry.” He cuddled her in his arms, stroking her wet hair while cursing his insensitivity. “Amelia, I’m sorry. I didn’t think of it that way. Forgive me.”
Although enraged, Amelia couldn’t believe that Blaze was the one apologizing to her. She looked up, just to be sure that it was really him and not one of his sweet cousin brothers.
“I’m sorry,” Blaze said softly, wiping her streaming tears with the back of his cold hand.
His gentle and loving action ignited a firework in Amelia’s heart, leaving her completely speechless and breathless. She couldn’t believe that Blaze, the arrogant, bossy and intimidating gruff was capable of being this sweet, gentle and endearing.
She lowered her gaze, her mind in a haze of confusion until she heard his calm and sexy voice whisper into her ear.
“Can I kiss you?”
“Wait, what?” Amelia was stunned again.
Did this born taker just ask for her permission for something he has been taking pronto even when she didn’t feel like it? Something is wrong somewhere? Maybe he has somehow hit his head on a rock. But how come he is not bleeding?
Amelia gulped down her saliva, moistening her pale lips.
“Amy…” Blaze cleaned off the remaining white face paint by the corner of her nose.
“Yes…” Amelia managed to say, heat slowly rising to her face.
A cosmic smile framed Blaze’s handsome face as he leaned closer, the surrounding body of water fading into the background as he held those magically shimmering eyes, pulling him deeper into its bottomless abyss.
For the first time since they became a couple, Amelia completely surrendered herself to her husband, crossing every sacred boundary with him until their hearts became one.
