Chapter 143: Abducted
Toshiba was really helpful as she managed to guide Sarah through the security checkpoint at Mega City International Airport, posing as her genuine friend. She helped her pick up her luggage and led her through the exit of the airport arrival terminal to an awaiting yellow cab by the driveway.
“I need to call my mom,” Sarah said weakly, the burning heat inside of her intensifying, making her want to rip her clothes off.
“Let me have your handbag. I’ll help you bring out your phone and dial her number, okay.” Toshiba continued in her sweet voice, pulling the handbag off Sarah’s shoulder. She guided her into the rear seat of the cab and got in before quickly closing the door, her heart pounding.
“It’s so hot in here. Turn on the air-conditioning.” Sarah pleaded, pulling at her jacket.
“Yeah. I feel the same way too. The weather is really hot. How about you take off your jacket? I can help you.” Toshiba offered, eyeing the cab driver from behind the back windshield, nonverbally asking him to hurry up with putting their luggage into the car trunk.
The weird-looking cab driver with a funny-looking moustache and afro hair, completely ignored Toshiba, his narrowed devilish eyes glaring at the young pretty lady beside her, with a predator instinct. He closed the trunk with a noisy bang and made his way around to the driver’s door. He got into the car, adjusted the rearview mirror so that he could continue to look at the pretty girl behind and started the engine.
“Toshiba, my phone. Call me…” Sarah’s voice trailed, as her head fell on Toshiba’s lap, her eyes closing.
“Don’t worry, princess. Everything will be alright. Mommy is here to take care of you.” Toshiba cooed stroking Sarah’s honey blonde hair softly.
The car drove for another ten and a half kilometres before making a left turn into a deserted street where a black BMW was packed by the corner.
The driver quickly alighted from the car and helped Toshiba transfer the unconscious Sarah to the back seat of the BMW.
Afterwards, both the driver and Toshiba removed their disguises to reveal their true identities. They toss these disguises into the back seat of the cab alongside all of Sarah’s belongings.
“Where is her phone.” The former cab driver whose real name and identity was no other than the elusive Lorenzo Alejandro, the elder brother to Gabriel Alejandro (the same kidnapper who Amelia stabbed to death during her escape.)
“It’s inside her handbag.” Toshiba, -whose real name is Ivy Le Blanche, (the fiance to Gabriel Alejandro.)- said.
“Get it.”
Ivy hurriedly ransacked Sarah’s bag and brought out her smartphone. She handed this to Lorenzo who immediately brought out the SIM card and broke it in half before smashing the phone with a rock and tossing the damaged phone into the car.
“Tidy up and join me in the car quickly,” Lorenzo ordered, handing Ivy, five litres of can gasoline.
“Okay.” Ivy beamed sweetly, ignoring the vicious look on Lorenzo’s face. She quickly poured the gasoline all over the cab and set it ablaze before joining Lorenzo in the front passenger seat of the BMW, now packed some safe distance away from the blazing cab.
“I did a great job just like before, right?” Ivy turned to look at the side of his hardened face as he started the car engine.
“Wait until we get our main target before you seek my commendation,” Lorenzo said dryly. He took one last glance at the unconscious beauty before driving off, leaving a trail of dust and an inferno behind.

Senator Shawls returned home from work, looking downcast and drained of energy. This wasn’t because he had a lot of work to do at the office.
In fact, he didn’t do anything productive today other than sitting down alone in his office, brooding and watching the live television broadcast of Amelia’s success.
The sight of Maria Anderson taking the spot of a mother figure at the event made the senator’s heart bleed. It made him think about his late wife and how she would have been proud of Amelia’s success. He was also stunned by the large turnout from the Anderson family making him doubt his earlier assertion that Blaze may be deceiving his daughter.
But the one thing that broke his heart further was when Amelia covered up for him and the rest of the Shawls family who didn’t attend the event. It made him feel more miserable with himself for allowing his anger to prevent him from giving his daughter his maximum support.
At the door, the butler was there to receive him. But the senator noticed something apprehensive and odd about the old butler’s expression.
“Welcome back, sir.” Sam collected the senator’s briefcase with slightly shaky hands.
“Thank you, Sam. You seem off today. Is something wrong?” The senator walked past him, heading straight for the mansion minibar.
Sam hesitated before replying, following the senator behind.

“Not really sir.”
“Then why the long face?” The senator snapped, barely having the patience to rack his brain over an old employee. “Is my wife back from the hospital?”
“No sir. She called to inform me that she’ll be spending the night with Madam Gwen.”
“What about my mother?”
“She’s fine sir. She spent most of her day sleeping inside her room.”
“Did any of my brothers come around?”
“Yes sir, Your brother, Mr Matt, was here a few hours ago and left shortly before you arrived.”
The Butler dropped the senator’s briefcase on one of the stools and helped him fix his favourite drink of dry martini.
The senator lazily sat down on one of the swivel chairs, massaging his forehead while waiting for his drink. His head was banging and his eyes were heavy as a result of overthinking and sleepless nights. He smiled in appreciation as Sam handed him a glass of his favourite mixture and took a sip to relax his nerves.
“Why did Matt leave before I returned?” The senator thought aloud not intending it as a question but the apprehensive Butler quickly responded.
“Because, he had to address some ugly incident, sir.”
“Ugly incident!” The senator’s eyes widened. “What ugly incidents are you referring to?” He demanded in a slightly desperate tone as he stared into the old man’s gloomy eyes.
“Did something happen to Amelia?”
