Chapter 146: Missing 2
“How?”
“When?”
“Where?”
Amelia asked, placing the conversation on speaker mode for Blaze to hear. She held her pounding chest with one hand and the phone with the other, horror clearly written on her furrowed forehead, as she listened to Michael’s quivering voice.
Blaze gestured for her to take a deep breath and calm down.
“After Sarah’s airplane left the airport, she was supposed to arrive at her destination within a space of three hours or less. However, after waiting for more than five hours without a single call from her as promised, we became worried. So, Mom and Dad tried calling her severally. At first, her line was not reachable but after several trials, we were notified by the electronic voice that it was switched off, something Sarah would never do.”
“Oh my god…” Amelia exclaimed.
“We are currently at the airport trying to locate her but the police official attending to us said we can’t file a missing person complaint until twenty-four hours have elapsed. Mom is on the verge of losing it. She’s not listening to anyone and I’m scared she will do something drastic if we don’t stop her. Please aunt I need your help. Please call Mom and talk to her.”
“Stay calm, Mike, I’m coming right away. I’ll call you when I’m there.” Amelia hung up and dashed for the door forgetting that she was indecently dressed.
“Amelia. Where do you think you’re going?” Blaze ran after her and stopped her.
“The airport. I have to go there right now.” Amelia said, looking a bit disoriented.
“You can’t go to the airport looking like this.” Blaze gestured at her tempting pyjamas.
“Oh… I’ll quickly go upstairs and change.” She spun around, ready to sprint upstairs but Blaze stopped her again.
“Amy, hold on a second and take a deep breath. Nothing is going to happen to your cousin. She’ll be fine.”
“You don’t know that for sure, right?”
“I’m being optimistic.”
“There is no time for that right now. We have to be realistic. My cousin is missing and for all we know, she could be in danger. I know this because I’ve seen it happen.”
“You’ve seen it happen? When?”
“It doesn’t matter right now.”
Amelia snatched her hand away from Blaze and sprinted upstairs to her bedroom.
“Amelia, wait!” Blaze followed closely behind her, confused about her last statement. “Amelia…” He entered her bedroom and made his way into her walk-in wardrobe only to see her scattering her clothes on the hanger looking for something suitable to wear.
“How about this?” Blaze picked out a pair of jeans and a cream cardigan to protect her from the cold night.
“Thanks.” Amelia quickly undressed in front of Blaze, unperturbed by his presence, her eyes moist and her hands trembling, as she wore her clothes.
“Amy, you know you can trust me right?”
Amelia nodded without looking up.
“Then tell me how you know that your cousin will be all in danger.”
“I dreamt all about it this morning, alright,…” Amelia stressed, her tears falling.
“The nightmare!”
“Yes. Someone abducted her in that dream just like they abducted me. She was crying for help but no one came to her rescue. When I finally found her, she had been shot in the chest. There was blood everywhere; on the floor, on my blouse, on both my hands…” Amelia opened both her palms as if she could see the blood. “… and I couldn’t do anything to stop it. I failed her. I’ve failed her, Blaze.” She broke down in tears, falling to her knees as if her dream had finally come to pass.

“Hey!” Blaze pulled Amelia up to her feet and held her in his arms. “You didn’t fail her. Like I said before, what you saw was nothing but a dream. It hasn’t come to pass and it won’t under my watch. We will find her and together we will bring her back home, okay.”
“Okay.” Amelia nodded her head.
“Alright, if you’re ready, let’s go.”
Amelia quickly wore her running shoes and said.
“I’m ready.”
On the way to the airport, Blaze made several calls, contacting some agents he had in Mega City, giving them all the necessary information to commence a city-wide hunt for Sarah Wales Hunt. He also contacted the airline authority at Mega City and Salvine International Airport, giving them details of Sarah’s profile, to match her with all three hundred and twenty-seven passengers that boarded that flight.
By the time Blaze and Amelia arrived at the airport, they had already discovered a disturbing piece of information that Sarah met a friend in the airplane, who might be responsible for her disappearance.
However, details about this mysterious friend were yet to be forwarded to Blaze’s mail, keeping him in suspense.
“Aunt Amelia.” Michael, who was waiting for them at the entrance to the airport with two security men keeping him company, hurried forward to receive his aunt.
“Oh, Michael…” Amelia left Blaze’s side to receive her cousin, who was a few inches taller than her. They embraced briefly before talking almost at the same time.
“Thank you, Aunt Amy, for coming on such a short notice.”
“Where is your mom?”
They both chuckled feverishly at the same time before Amelia said.
“You’re welcome and that’s what families do for each other. Where is your mom?”
“She’s sleeping in one of the VIP waiting rooms.”
“Sleeping?” Amelia raised an eyebrow.
“Yes. She was making a lot of trouble and the officers thought it was in her best interest to rest while they did their job. So she was given a sedative to sleep.”
“Oh…okay. I’ll check up on her later. But in the meantime, where is your dad?”
“He’s currently with the police officer handling the case. Good evening Mr Anderson, and thanks for coming around.” Michael acknowledged Blaze’s presence.
“You’re welcome. Let’s go to your dad.”
“Sure. This way.”
As they made their way into the airport arrival terminal, taking the escalator that led towards the admin section, Amelia received a call from a private number.
She brought the phone screen to Blaze, who asked her to receive the call and put it on speaker.
“Hello…” Amelia said.
There was a deafening silence from the other end followed by a sharp cry from Sarah.
“Sarah!” Amelia screamed.
“Sorry, Amelia. She can’t talk to you right now.” A deep, cold and creepy voice said, laughing.
