Chapter 150: Tic Tok….
“Hello…” Amelia said after swiping the receive button.
“Hello, my queen. Did you sleep well?” The cold, creepy and spine-chilling voice of the mysterious caller rapped in Amelia’s ear.
“Go to hell….” Amelia was tempted to say, her entire body trembling with her suppressed fury. She kept her gaze on Blaze, doing her best to hold back her tears from falling.
“Yes.”
“Good. Did you dream about me?”
“No.” Amelia spat out.
“Don’t worry, my darling, you will after I’m done imprinting myself all over you.” He let out a guttural laughter.
“I need to speak with my cousin and ensure she’s fine.”
“Don’t worry. She is fine.”
“I need to hear it from her lips?”
“You will after you complete my first task.”
“And what is that?”
“You have thirty minutes to leave the house, take a cab and go to the city museum, alone. There, you will meet the young man on the night shift, with whom I have secretly dropped a brown parcel for you. Introduce yourself as the white bunny, collect the brown parcel and wait for my call. Failure to get to the destination and receive the parcel before the stipulated time elapsed will cost your cousin a beautiful slash on her pretty face. Your time starts now.”
The call instantly disconnected leaving Amelia completely disoriented. She instantly sprang up from the bed, her whole body trembling as though she was about to have a meltdown.
Blaze, who had been busy all night, preparing for this anticipated move, swiftly swung into action, taking Amelia by surprise. He brought out a perfectly arranged red, two-piece jogging tracksuit and a pair of sneakers.
“Here, quickly put them on.” He said, also changing to a black tracksuit.
As Amelia dressed up, Blaze gave her a series of live-saving instructions that she must follow in case they got separated for a short while.
“Amy, I know you are scared but I need you to trust me on this. I know how people like this operate and in other to beat them at their own game, you have to play by their rules. This means, we will do everything he says, which may include you leaving the city on an airplane to an unknown destination.”
“What!” Amelia paused, lacing her shoes, her widened eyes staring helplessly at Blaze.
But Blaze quickly averted her gaze, unable to bear the hurt in her eyes. He quickly helped her complete the tax of lacing her shoes.
“I will be with you every step of the way even though you might not see me physically. Listen for my voice in your head and stay true to yourself. Call out whatever you see, faces, colours, action and anything other thing that can give me a hint on how to get the bastard. All I need is just one chance to spot him and I can assure you the rest will be history.”
Blaze stood up, also helping Amelia up to her feet. He checked the time on his wristwatch and said.
“According to his instruction, you have twenty-seven minutes left to pick up the parcel. Lance with take you to the main Street area where a taxi I have arranged is waiting for you. Do whatever he tells you and do not give him the pleasure of your tears.” Blaze said wiping Amelia’s streaming tears with his thumb.
“Blaze…”
Blaze didn’t give her any chance to say anything as he claimed her lips in a passionate kiss, the mere thought of letting her go killing him slowly.
As much as he was acting calm and composed on the surface, he was a complete wreck within. Saying goodbye was something he hated and dreaded, especially when it involved someone he loved dearly.
“I’ll see you on the other side.” Blaze ended the kiss with a solemn promise before they both left the room.

Twenty-five minutes to the end of the deadline, Amelia arrived at the museum gate. She made her way briskly to the security post and smiled feverishly as a stout security guard in his security uniform and a black hat approached the locked gate, scrutinizing her from here to toe.
“Young lady, are you lost or isn’t it quite early to visit the museum?”
“Good morning…” Amelia forced a smile, trying her best to act natural. “Please are you the security guard on night duty?”
“Who is asking?” The man narrowed his gaze suspiciously at her.
Amelia almost bit her tongue as she said, “White rabbit.”
“Oh… so that joker guy wasn’t kidding after all.” The man chuckled assessing Amelia again, this time with a lustful glint in his eyes. “He never said you were such a beauty.”
“Do you have a parcel for me or not?” Amelia asked in a repressed tone, the fleeting thought of punching the man in the face through the space in the iron gate crossing her mind. She checked her wristwatch and found out she had only two minutes left.
“Sure sweetheart. I’m coming.” The security guard grinned as he left for his office and returned with a small rectangular shaped parcel and a card. “Here…” He slid the parcel and the card to Amelia through the iron bar spacing.
“When that joker is done with you, feel free to contact me on that number.”
“Sure. You will be contacted, Mr…” Amelia narrowed her gaze as she read the name on the man’s name tag. “Lazarus Igar.”
“That is my name.” The guard blew kisses to her, as she hurried back to the cab waiting for the next call.
Buzz! Buzz!!
The parcel Amelia was holding started vibrating causing her to jerk. She cautiously opened the package with the help of the kind cab man, whom she suspected was working for Blaze.
“It’s a phone and a bus ticket,” Amelia said, picking it up cautiously. On the screen of the phone was displayed a private number, giving her a clue about who was calling. She took in a deep breath and said.
“Hello…”
But instead of the cold and creepy voice from earlier, she heard her cousin’s quivering voice.
“Aunt Amelia…”
“Sarah!” Amelia half screamed, a mixture of excitement and horror bubbling in her voice. “Are you all right? Did he hurt you? Where are you.”
“I’m fine, that is all you need to know for now.”
Amelia could sense the tension in her cousin’s quivering voice from miles away. So she asked.
“Is he there with you?”
“Yes.”
“What is it doing?”
“Staring at me with a gun pointed to my head.”
“What!” Amelia gasped. Before she could ask any more questions, she had the stalker’s voice.
“Your first wish has been granted. Now, quickly walk away from the cab and hurry down to the bus station on foot. You have five minutes to get there before you miss your boss. Tic Tok….” The call disconnected.
