Chapter 155: The Implant
Fatigued and completely exhausted, Amelia slept all through the flight back to Slavine City. By the time she knew what was happening around her, they had already arrived safely home, with Blaze carrying her like a child in his arms.
“Hi…” Blaze dropped her on their bed, smiling sweetly at her.
“Hey…” Amelia’s lips curved in a brief smile, her shimmering eyes taking note of her familiar surroundings. “We are home, already?”
“Yes.”
“So soon?” She frowned, recalling she had just closed her eyes a moment ago.
“It’s been five hours since you closed those pretty eyes.” Blaze pinched her nose making her giggle a little.
“What about Sarah?”
“She’s back with her family.”
“Ugh!” Amelia pouted. “I wanted to see her reunite with her mom. I can’t believe I slept all through.”
“That’s because you were very tired and you needed lots of rest after everything you went through,” Blaze said stroking her soft textured hair. Nevertheless, you will get to see your aunt later today when she comes along with your dad and his friend.”
“Oh… I forgot about that. Thanks.”
“You’re welcome.” Blaze kissed her briefly on the lips and stood up straight.
“Would you like to rest a little while or do you want me to fix you a warm bath?”
Amelia pushed herself up into a sitting position wincing a little as she massaged her bandaged head.
“I think a warm bath will be fine.”
“Alright, I’ll go fix the warm bath. Afterwards, we’ll have to check your head and see if the bruise is deep.”
Amelia nodded. “Thanks.”
Blaze smiled in reply and left her side for the bathroom.
Five minutes later, he came out, both sleeves folded to the elbow.
“Your bath is ready, sweetheart.”
Amelia blushed at the pet name. “Thanks.” She pushed herself up, her knees wobbling a little. But Blaze was quick to keep her steady on her feet, catching her by the waist.
“Do you want me to help you undress?”
Amelia’s blush deepened.
“No, I can manage.” She said looking up into his eyes. A crease appeared on her forehead as she stared into Blaze’s tired face.
“You look stressed.”
Blaze smiled. “Don’t worry, I’ll be fine. All I need is a cold shower, a nice meal and a good sleep.”
She hesitated a little before saying.
“I think a warm bath will do you more justice than a cold shower. What if you join me? I’m sure there’s space for two.”
“Hmm…Are you sure about that?” Blaze’s longing gaze bored deeply into her eyes searching for a reason to object.

“It’s the least I can do to say thank you for everything.”
“I’ll take you up on that offer some other time when you’re much stronger.” He planted a kiss on her lips and pulled away from her. “When you’re done meet me at the dining table, downstairs. I’ll be waiting for you.”
Amelia watched Blaze leave the bedroom, her inner longing for him more than she could explain. Her smile lingered as she got into the bathroom and closed the door.
Forty-five minutes later, she came downstairs to the dining room section only to meet Blaze already eating with a strange fellow.
“Hey, you’re finally here.” Blaze dropped his spoon and stood up to receive her. He kissed her briefly before introducing his guest, who was already done eating.
“This is Dr Martins, a very good friend, a renowned scientist, a general medical practitioner and a specialized dental surgeon.”
“Hello, Dr Martins.” “Amelia extended her right hand for a handshake.”
“It’s nice to meet you, again. Mrs Anderson.” He shook her hands, politely.
“Again!” Amelia raised her eyebrow not recalling seeing this face before. “Have we met?”
“Yes ma’am….”
“But we can talk about that later.” Blaze interrupted pulling out a chair for Amelia to sit down. “Dr Martins would quickly take a look at your head injury and see if it’s infected.”
“Okay.” Amelia nodded, still curious to know how she had met this strange doctor. She winced in pain as the doctor gently removed the bandage around her head. He inspected the bruise and said.
“Thankfully, it is not very deep. I’ll give you some medications and ointment to reduce the inflammation.”
“Okay, doctor.”
Amelia remained still as the doctor rounded up his business on her head before putting on a fresh bandage to avoid infection.
“There… as good as new.”
“Thank you, doctor.”
“What about the implant, can she eat with it or does it have to be removed first,” Blaze asked.
“Implant?” Amelia cocked her head in Blaze’s direction, a little bit lost.
“I’ll explain to you in a few minutes.” Blaze parted her on the back of her left hand before directing his gaze to the doctor.
“I will leave that decision to her. But I don’t think the implant will pose any harm if she eats with it.”
“Thank you, Martins. Kindly wait for us at the lounge while I talk to my wife in private.”
“Sure.” The doctor stood up and left the dining room as Amelia turned her curious expression to Blaze.
“Soo…”
“I’ll start with Dr Martins,” Blaze said pushing his plate of half-eating food aside and resting both his elbow on the table.
“Martins was here last night when I reached out to him for an urgent procedure. After we left the airport, I knew that bastard was planning to isolate you and take you captive and I wasn’t going to let that happen. So I came up with the full-proof strategy to track you and also communicate with you at the same time.”
“Yeah… I’ve been meaning to ask you. How were you able to communicate with me even after they made me take off all my accessories and clothes which I felt you bugged?” Amelia asked feeling a bit excited.
“An advanced and sophisticated microchip Implant.”
“An implant?” Amelia’s eyes widened. “Where? My ears?” She asked, her voice bubbling with excitement.
“Here.” Blaze leaned forward and brushed his thumb against her lips.
“My lips?” Amelia was confused. She had seen her face a few minutes ago after bathing and she didn’t notice any deformity in her lips.
“No. Inside your mouth, and precisely the concealed part of your lower dentition, which happens to be the last place the fool would check for a microchip audio bug.”
“Ah!” Amelia gasped, her jaws dropping.
Blaze nodded, taking note of Amelia’s bewildered expression. He chuckled as she picked up her phone on the dining table and turned on her camera to look inside her mouth.
“You’re not going to find it that way, honey. It is perfectly concealed.”
