Chapter 189: Fantasies
Blaze wasn’t expecting to see Tina when he arrived at the hospital. He thought she had already left the previous night after alerting him of his wife’s condition.
Although he was still sceptical about her involvement in Amelia’s sudden food allergy and intolerance, the doctor had already assured him that there were no incidents of foul play involved.
But that didn’t explain why she was still hanging around, especially when Amelia didn’t warm up to her.
“Tina,” Blaze called her hoping to ask her a few questions when all of a sudden she started running towards him, beaming like a lost puppy who had just found its owner.
Before Tina could lunch herself into him, Blaze put his right hand forward, with a low growl.
“Stop right there.”
Tina froze on the spot, her outstretched arms hanging awkwardly in the air. She blinked twice, wondering why he was no longer smiling at her.
“What the hell do you think you’re doing?”
Blaze growled in a half-repressed voice, irritated by her questionable action.
“N…Nothing.”
Tina’s initial excitement wilted slowly. Her hands fell limply to her sides, as she
searched Blaze’s eyes for any form of emotion.
Sadly, there was nothing in those icy grey bottomless pits. Not even a flicker of lust for a man who had once ravished her sexy body. The only thing those frosty orbs emitted was a dangerous aura, one that made her tremble slightly like a dry leaf in autumn wind. This made her take two steps backwards as she explained further, justifying her action.
“I was only trying to welcome you back with a simple hug. Or is hugging a friend now a crime?”
Blaze lifted his hand to massage his throbbing forehead as he suppressed the urge to rebuke Tina harshly.
“It is not wrong to hug a friend. But, I do not appreciate such gestures. Please, don’t do that again.”
“Fine,”
” By the way, what are you doing? Didn’t you return home after last night?” Blaze asked, taking note of her party outfit, which was screaming for attention.
“No. I’ve been here all night like the others.” Tina said proudly, expecting Blaze to be grateful. But to her disappointment, the furrow on his forehead deepened as he asked.
“Why? The last time I remember you and my wife aren’t friends or family members. So why hang around?”
“Are you really asking me that question?” Tina pouted angrily.
“If I didn’t see Amelia as my friend or you for that matter, would I bother texting you or calling for help? If I didn’t consider her my friend, would I bother informing her family? How can you ask me such a hurtful question after everything I have done to prove myself?”
Blaze released a sign of frustration. He didn’t travel thousands of kilometres just to come down here for this emotional blackmailing.
“You know what, Tina, let’s talk about this later. I’m here to see my wife and not you. So if you don’t mind.” Blaze gestured for her to excuse him.
Tina suppressed the urge to scream in his face. She swallowed the indirect insult and said.
“I’ll take you to her. Follow me.”
Before Blaze had any time to object, she hurriedly ran into the hospital, her heels clicking noisily on the marble floor.
Blaze shook his head and let out a sigh before strolling into the hospital premises, barely noticing the receptionist nurses who were ogling at him.
Tina paused before the elevator, taking a deep breath to suppress her anger. She needed Blaze to see her as a selfless heroine and not a jealous wreck. She needed him to grow fond of her. She already had the banging body. Now all she needed was the right attitude.
Inhaling and exhaling to release her negative energy. Tina smiled as she picked up his intoxicating scent of wood and musk behind her.

“She’s in room 10, on the 8th floor,” Tina said, pressing the elevator button while sparing Blaze a quick glance.
“Thanks,” Blaze said blankly, avoiding her gaze.
The elevator dinged and the door slid open, granting them access inside.
Blaze waited for Tina to get in first before following behind her. He punched in the eighth floor on the inner control panel and watched as the door slowly slid shot before the elevator started ascending.
He didn’t bother to look at Tina when she moved backwards standing a few inches to the left behind him. Neither did he engage her in any form of conversation.
His mind was more preoccupied with the state of his wife. He hadn’t slept in the last eleven hours thinking of her. All he wanted to do now was to cuddle her in his arms and kiss her, after ensuring she was fine.
While Blaze waited breathlessly for the elevator ride to come to an end, Tina prayed for it to freeze, midway.
Enclosed in this rectangular box with him, so close and yet so far away, Tina felt her emotions and lust spiralling out of control.
She greedily feasted her eyes on Blaze’s backside, watching with unfathomable pleasure as his powerful biceps flexed with such Achillean strength every time he moved his arms.
It evoked memories of their past love life when he would hold her so passionately in his arms, kissing and nibbling at her sensitive parts. She imagines what it will be like to relieve those memories again here in the elevator, with no one to interrupt them.
The fleeting thoughts of moving closer to him and wrapping her arms around his waist from behind made her core tingle, eliciting a suppressed moan which she masked with a cough.
If only he could turn around and see what he was indirectly doing to her.
Ding!
“Curses!” Tina mused under her breath as the elevator door slid open, putting an end to her fantasies.
Blaze didn’t bother waiting for Tina as he took a long stride towards the left wing, after spotting Amelia’s family members and friends up ahead. His face lit up with a warm smile as Judith stood up and hurried over to him acting the part of a mother figure.
They briefly exchange warm hugs, making Tina almost die of jealousy from behind.
Didn’t she just try to hug him and he almost strangled her with his eyes? How come he’s giving free hugs to Amelia’s aunt and even her friends who were obviously lusting over him?
“The nerves.”
Tina decided she wasn’t going to hang around and watch this repulsive show of affection. She decided to leave and find a way to retrieve her phone.
