Chapter 194: Where Did He Go?
Tina’s exotic red car pulled up by the parking lot, missing Blaze Anderson’s departing car on the other lane by a whisker. She stepped out of the car, shoulder raised and head held high, looking all glamorous like an A-list model about to walk the ramp.
Picking up the fruit gift basket and a fancy shopping bag from the rear seat, she slammed her door shut with her heels and sashayed down the walkway that led towards the hospital’s main building.
As Tina passed by, her glistening blue eyes hidden under her designer wide-rim sunglasses, heads began to turn and eyes gawk in admiration.
“Joe!” A red-haired chubby woman, whose husband was escorting her out of the hospital, called out to her shamelessly gawking husband.
Tina chuckled, sparing the completely lost man a captivating smile while leaving him floating on the cloud with a bitterly enraged wife by his side.
“I’m standing right, here, Joe.” The woman screamed at her suddenly deaf husband, slapping him on the back of his head, as the latter’s eyes trailed the sexy goddess into the hospital building.
“What did I do wrong, honey?” The man turned to face his angry wife.
“You shameless dog. I am carrying your baby or do you want to go after her?”
“Who?”
“The lady you were shamelessly staring at.”
The quarrelling couple’s voice at the entrance trailed as Tina slowly made her way to the elevator, commanding everyone’s attention, both hospital staff, sick patients and visitors.
A nurse, a potbellied truck driver in uniform and an old woman were already waiting in front of the elevator when Tina arrived.
The old woman, who had an asthmatic condition sneezed twice, as she inhaled Tina’s strong and intoxicating perfume.
Tina immediately took three steps backwards acting as if the woman had a contagious viral flu.
“Hey, watch it.” Someone said behind her, causing her to freeze. She flipped her head backwards, only to lay eyes on a handsome-looking mature man staring at her. He was effortlessly cladded in a faded denim shirt paired with matching pants and sleek white sneakers that gave him a captivating Playboy look.
He was holding a bag, containing different transparent cups of ice cream.
Something about those exotic and vibrant golden eyes with a hint of copper made Tina freeze on the spot. It reminded her of someone she knew from somewhere.
“Where have I seen the face?” Tina mumbled under her breath.
“Did you say something?” Hilary asked, wondering why the young lady was looking completely lost while staring at him.
“Have we met before?” Tina asked directly, staring behind the man to see if he was with someone.
“I don’t think so,” Hillary said impatiently, checking to see if the ice cream he was holding was still intact. “Please be more careful next time.” He said and left for the elevator.
Shaking off the weird feelings of recognition, Tina followed behind the mature man who was now standing in front of the elevator. She followed him inside when the door opened and said.
“Please help me punch the eighth floor.”
“I’m going to the eighth floor as well,” Hillary replied, pressing number eight on the control panel while wondering if this young lady was one of Amelia’s friends who came by earlier.
He observed the captivating fruit basket she was holding and the shopping bag, which were appealing to the eyes. He thought about asking if she knew Amelia but decided against it.
A deafening silence fell on the enclosed box as the elevator started ascending until Tina broke the ice.
“By the way, I’m Tina Stevens and I’m here to see my sick friend, who is currently staying at the VIP ward.”
Hilary turned around to look at Tina squarely.
“Will that your friend be Mrs Amelia Anderson?”
“Yes! How do you know?” Tina asked taking off her sunglasses.

“Because I am her uncle,” Hilary said chuckling.
“Her uncle?” Tina raised her eyebrows in confusion.
According to her research, Matt and Desmond were the only biological uncles Amelia had. And these two men were currently behind bars.
Reading the confused expression on Tina’s face, Hillary explained further.
“Not directly her uncle. I’m actually married to her late mother’s sister.”
“You are Aunt Judith’s husband!” Tina exclaimed, cupping her mouth.
“Yes, and I’m guessing you are the same Tina who called to inform my wife about the incident yesterday, right?”
“That is me!” Tina replied, grinning from ear to ear, finally recognize his face which she saw in a picture.
“Wow! It is such an honour to meet you, Tina.” Hilary said, extending his hand towards her. “Thanks for helping.”
“The honour is all mine.” Tina happily shook his hand, blushing.
Ding!
The elevator bell announced their arrival on the eighth floor, bringing an abrupt end to their familiarization.
“Let go. I’m sure Amelia can’t wait to see you.” Hilary said, offering to help her carry the fruit basket.
“Me too. Thanks.” Tina smiled feverishly taking a deep breath as she stepped out of the elevator, wondering how Blaze and Amelia would react when they saw her.
As they both approached Amelia’s room, Tina observed something strange. The bodyguard standing outside the door wasn’t the same person she met this morning. He seemed more grouchy and ill-mannered as he placed his hand forward asking her to stop.
“Welcome back, Mr Hilary. Please, I need to check what you are holding as protocol.”
“Is just some cups of ice cream,” Hillary said, showing the bag to the bodyguard who in turn scanned it with an advanced hand scanner.
“Wow, Blaze is not taking any chances with his wife.” Tina echoed in her mind, maintaining a plastic smile on her face. Thank goodness, I have retrieved my phone.
“What about the fruit basket?” The bodyguard asked, eying it suspiciously.
“It belongs to Miss Tina. She is Mrs Anderson’s best friend.” Hilary said casually, failing to the Tina’s right eye twitch at his statement.
“You can go in, Sir.” The bodyguard said, knocking twice before opening the door slightly for Hillary. “But, Miss Tina, please wait here while I get confirmation from the madam.”
“Madam, my ass.” Tina wanted to say. But she smiled and said. “That won’t be a problem.”
“Don’t worry it’s just protocol.” I’ll see you inside.” Hilary said, before disappearing behind the door.
‘Shoot! I forgot to get his number.’ Tina hissed under her breath as she watched the bodyguard speak into the phone.
“Okay. Thank you.” The bodyguard hung up. “Miss Tina, you have been cleared.”
“Thank you.” Tina tried to lift the fruit basket off the floor when the bodyguard added.
“Leave the basket and shopping bag outside. We will take care of it.”
“Wait, What! But I bought it for her and not you. Why don’t you simply scan it like you did the ice cream?” Tina said in a repressed voice, trying her best to keep her composure.
“I’m simply following orders, ma’am. It’s either you go in without these items or you don’t go in at all. Your choice.”
Tina gritted her teeth. “Fine.” She brushed past The bodyguard trying to get in when he stopped her again.
“Hold on, I’m yet to scan your handbag.”
“Seriously! Do I look like a suicide bomber?” Tina lost her patience.
“I wouldn’t know ma’am. I’m simply doing my job.” The bodyguard replied dryly, giving Tina an impatient warning stare.
Taking a deep breath to calm her rage, Tina said softly. “Very well, satisfy your curiosity.”
Afterwards certifying that Tina wasn’t a danger to the boss’s wife, the bodyguard, let her in.
However, when Tina stepped into the room, she froze by the entrance at the sight of Maria Anderson, whose expression was anything but friendly.
As if Maria’s presence wasn’t already bad news, there was no sign of Blaze anywhere in the room.
“Where did he go? The restroom.”
