Thousands of kilometres away from Salvine city, at a remote location, a man cladded in complete black attire, with a leather trench coat hanging over his shoulder, stood outside a dark grey Range Rover sports.

He leaned against the car, a cloud of smoke curling lazily from his lips as he took a long drag from his thick cigar.

Blowing out rings of smoke like a pro, he casually dialled a number and brought his phone to his ear, his dark shade masking the sinister glint in his eyes.

The line connected on the first ring with a deep chilly male’s voice resonating in the background.

“Is it done?”

“Yes, boss.” A devilish smirk curled up the side of the man’s lips.

“What about the witness?”

“Taken care of. He died with the others and his account has been wiped clean.”

“Good. We cannot afford any sloppy job knowing the man we are dealing with.”

“You can rest assured, boss, There is no way it can be traced back to you. We will keep him chasing his tail and hunting his rival.”

“What about the first bait?”

“It has already been set. Is just a matter of days before he takes the fall.”

“Splendid. I want him completely destroyed just like his father. And when we are through with him, we will go after his most priced possessions.”

“Yes, boss. I already look forward to it.”

“Stay off the radar. I’ll contact you when it’s time to initiate stage two of our plan.”

“Yes boss.”

The line was instantly discovered, leaving an eerie grin on the man’s lips.

“Blaze Anderson, your doomsday just began.”

Back at the Anderson mansion, the celebration gradually came to an end as the last guest said goodbye.

Except for the extended family, who were still scattered in different sections of the house, bonding, Amelia didn’t take note of Blaze’s absence.

It was not until Vera came to the terrace looking for Naomi with her crying baby, that Amelia’s mind drifted to her husband.

“Who is a hungry little cutie ..you are…” Naomi tried to pacify her crying infant, but the infant seemed offended by his moms joke at the expense of his little tummy, as his crying intensified.

Amelia chuckled, beaming at the cute crying baby, who seemed too hungry and was pulling at his mother’s blouse with his tiny hands.

“Why don’t you go upstairs and feed him? I’ll go look for Blaze.”

“All right sister-in-law, I’ll see you in the morning.” Naomi kissed Amelia on the cheek before leaving for one of the guest rooms.

Amelia also left the terrace for the living room, thinking Blaze was seated with his mother and grandparents discussing.

However, when she didn’t find him in the sitting room, she decided to check for him at the lounge where the other guys were, having their men’s forum away from the noisy children and women.

Still, there was no sight of Blaze.

“Eugene, have you seen your cousin?” Amelia asked after acknowledging Naomi’s husband and the others.

“No.” Eugene shook his head looking surprised. He stood up and strolled over to her away from the men’s discussion. “I thought he was with you?”

Amelia’s brows furrowed.

“No, I’ve been with Naomi all along.”

“Maybe, he is with Henry,” Eugene suggested. “You know how sneaky those two can be sometimes.”

“I saw Henry leave with my aunt and f…” Amelia paused. It suddenly dawned on her that she hadn’t seen Blaze since the last time they both received one of Maria’s elderly friends, which was over three to four hours ago.

A ripple of laughter suddenly erupted in the lounge forcing Eugene and Amelia to stare at the men who were obviously having a great time.

“Why don’t you go back and join them? Don’t let me not stop you from catching your fun. I’ll go look for him. He should be somewhere around the mansion.”

“You don’t have to worry about me, sister-in-law. I could help you look for him.” Eugene took a step to leave but Amelia stopped him.

“I insist. Go back. I’ll just call him on the phone if I can’t find him.”

“Okay sister-in-law. Thanks. But if you need me, I’m always here for you.”

“I know,” Amelia patted Eugene on the chin and left the lounge for the stairs. She was about to climb up when she had Mamo’s unique voice.

“Already retiring for the night?”

“Oh no, Mamo.” Amelia turned around to greet her with a warm hug. “I was just looking for Blaze. I wanted to check if he had gone to the bedroom.”

“Oh, I saw him going towards the study area.” Mamo pointed in the adjacent direction. “He was looking kind of in a hurry. Is everything alright with him?”

“I’m sure everything is fine, Mamo.” Amelia said reassuringly waving any spell of anxiety even though her heart was beginning to pound erratically in her chest. “l I’ll go check up on him.”

“You do that and then you should think about going upstairs to rest.” Mamo pinched Amelia’s cheek playfully. “You shouldn’t stress yourself in your condition.”

“Okay Mamo, thanks.” Amelia smiled and left for the mansion study.

When she got to the door, she placed her ears on it and listened for any form of movement inside.

Unfortunately, the study was soundproof and she couldn’t hear a thing.

Taking a deep breath to ease the growing tension in her chest, she knocked briefly and waited.

When she didn’t get a response, she knocked again dialing Blaze’s number on her phone.

The line connected and rang repeatedly but Blaze didn’t take his calls which was very unusual of him. She was about to dial his number again when she had a click followed by the door knob twisting.

“Blaze…” Amelia hurried into the study as Blaze pulled open the door. “What is the matter? Why weren’t you taking your call or answering the door?”

“It’s nothing, sweetheart I was just working,” Blaze replied calmly as he shut the door. He did his best to put up a convincing unagitated demeanor even though he was a complete wreck within.

“Working!” Amelia arched her brows, looking at her husband from head to toe. “How can you be working today of all days? I thought you said you’ve cleared your schedule.”

“I have but something urgent came up. That needs my attention.”

At that moment a call entered Blaze’s phone which he couldn’t ignore.
