Chapter 282: Ground Rules
Outside the school campus building by the extensive parking lots, Henry hurried after Sarah to keep up with her fast-paced stride.
Boiling like a pressure cooker on heat, Sarah got to her car, a red Jaguar XF, the latest edition, a priceless gift from her cousin’s husband.
She fumbled through her backpack for car keys as Henry watched in silence.
When she found the keys, she unlocked the door and barked.
“Get in.”
“Yes, ma’am.” Henry maintained his hypnotic smile as he got into the front passenger seat while Sarah took the driver’s wheel.
Sarah turned on the car ignition to keep the engine running and the car air-conditioning system functioning, before focusing her full attention on Henry.
“What the hell are you doing Henry? Are you stalking me now?””
“No!” Henry shook his head. “I will never stalk you.” He brought out some documents from his cross bag and gave them to her which she cross-examined.
“I registered for a six-month advanced programming course here at the university. Since I will be staying in this city for a while, I thought I could make myself useful while taking a break from the limelight.”
“Why here? There are thousands of Universities out there where you can do your programming course.” Sarah gave him back his registration documents and credentials.
“Because your cousin’s husband wants me around his wife and mother, with him being away and all,” Henry explained calmly. “And I won’t deny the fact that I wanted to be closer to you.”
Sarah sighed weakened by Henry’s explanation. She knew he was telling the truth and she also knew how supportive he had been towards Amelia ever since Blaze got imprisoned unjustly.
“So you’ll be taking some of my courses?”
“Yeah! But I can stay clear away from your path if that’s what you want. I’ll just quietly take my classes and leave.”
“I just don’t want…” Sarah exhaled in frustration not knowing what to say.
As much as she wanted to get rid of Henry and focus on her studies, she couldn’t ignore his pivotal contribution to her cousin’s sanity or the fact that she was beginning to develop strong feelings for him.
The thought of watching him sit far away from her with all those prowling hyenas in female skin aiming their hook for the next hottest guy was simply unimaginable.
Sarah knew that if people in her class were preview to Henry’s real identity, it wouldn’t take long for all of them to start flirting and flocking around him.
As much as she hated to admit it to herself, she couldn’t stand any of those girls flirting with him. It would simply choke the life out of her.
“You know what, I think we have to set some ground rules since we’ll be studying in the same campus.”
“Anything you say is fine by me.” Henry beamed, his heart longing to touch her.
“Stop smiling. I’m serious.” Sarah chided and Henry’s smile instantly disappeared.
Sarah suppressed a chuckle at Henry’s animated behaviour.
“I’m serious about what I said earlier. I need us to take things slowly. I am not ready.”
“I know and I’m ready to wait for a thousand years for you.”
Sarah turned her face away to hide her blush.
“For the ground rules…” Sarah cleared her throat, stifling her girlish feelings.
“We must learn to respect each other space. No intimacy of any sort is allowed especially when we are on campus. We will introduce each other as family friends and nothing more.”
“Okay.” Henry nodded.

“You’re not allowed to come to my home to pick me up or drop me off after school except on special occasions.”
“Okay.”
“During courses that we both take, you’re allowed to sit beside me. But you’re not permitted to distract me in any form.”
Henry’s lips stretched in a captivating smile. “I promise I’ll never distract you.”
Sarah rolled her eyes, “as if your presence is not already distracting.”
“And last but not the least.” Sarah looked him straight in the eyes, “You are not allowed to reveal your identity to anyone, not even my best friend.”
“Deal. I promise I will do my best not to disappoint you.” Henry vowed.
“You better.” Sarah inhaled and exhaled to expel all her negative energy. “Now beat it. I have to finish the software program I’m designing for my cousin.”
“Okay. But if you need my help, I’m just a call away.”
“I know. Bye.” Sarah unlocked her car for him to get down.
“Bye, Sally.” Henry climbed out of the car and watched Sarah drive off before sauntering to his car, whistling.
He was about to get into his car when he got a call from Blaze informing him that he would be accompanying Amelia and his mother to country M for a visit.”

To welcome Gwen back home, a little family party was thrown by the senator in her honour.
All the Shawls family members were in attendance, showering her with so much love and comforting her for the loss of her child.
Gwen was expecting to see Amelia but to her disappointment, the latter didn’t turn up. This saddened her a little.
There was nothing as good as watching her mortal enemy eat back her words now that the truth was out there with no one believing her.
Although the senator had earlier chastised Gwen about blaming her pregnancy loss on Amelia, this didn’t stop her from telling all those who cared to listen that her vengeful sister was the reason why she lost everything.
This intensified the hate towards Amelia, with most of the family spelling more doom for her and her husband.
Another thing that irked Gwen to the core was the presence of so many strange faces who all claimed to be mansion staff.
The only familiar face among the group was the old butler, Sam, who had always supported Amelia.
Since Gwen was back, she knew she needed to do something to turn everything in her favour, starting with firing Sam to instil fear in the rest of the mansion workers.
