Chapter 30: The Humiliation
Jerry staggered backwards, losing his balance and falling into his seat.
“Amelia, you punched me?” Jerry’s widened was laced with a blend of shock and horror as he lifted his right hand to cup his reddened and broken nose.
Amelia ignored the sting coming from her knuckles as she leaned closer to Jerry, her eyes blazing like an overheated furnace.
“The next time you lay your filthy hands on me, I will rip out your rotten balls…” Amelia gestured as though she already had his balls in her clenched fist. “…and shove it down your throat.”
Jerry flinched at the cruelty and bluntness in Amelia’s tone. He watched her straighten up, a satisfied grin stretching across her lips, as she picked up her bag again.
As he felt something warm trickling down his broken nose, his muscles stiffened. He placed two fingers under his nose and wiped off the warm liquid, his murderous gaze darting between his bloodied fingers and Amelia’s deadpan gaze.
Rising to his feet, like an unleashed predator, he growled.
“You “f**king b…”
Jerry was instantly caught off when the door to the conference room was suddenly thrown open. He almost had a heart attack as his twitching eyes fell on two dangerous-looking men in black suits, whom he suspected to be Amelia’s bodyguards charging towards him like wounded lions seeking fresh blood.
Falling back to his seat, Jerry covered his face, thinking the bloodthirsty bodyguards were about to pummel him to death.
At the same time, an older man with a blend of grey and dark hair, holding a briefcase, strolled into the room shutting the door behind him.
“Ma’am, just say the words and I’ll break the pig’s limbs.” The head bodyguard who goes by the name Pascal, pleaded in a gruff but polite voice while punching his fist in his open palm.
Amelia raised her right hand up, taming her hungry lions, a devilish smirk curling up the side of her lips as she watched Jerry shrink ten times deeper into his seat.
“Were you about to say something, Mr Morgan?” She taunted feeling pleased to see him cower before her.
“I guess not.” She brought out her colored handkerchief and tossed it in his face. “Do not mess up my office with your stench.”
Jerry accepted the handkerchief with trembling hands while glaring at Amelia. He used it to clean his nose and to stop the bleeding temporarily.
Sliding the yellow folder and brown envelope on the table toward Jerry, Amelia addressed him formally.
“Here in this folder are the divorce papers which I have already signed, and a transfer of shares agreement which has been authorized. You will be signing the divorce papers and the transfer of all fifteen percent of your shares in LiLa Savvy back to me?”
“What!” Jerry echoed in his heart, his horrid eyes darting between Amelia, her scowling bodyguards and the questionable averagely mature man who was now seated opposite him.
Amelia opened the yellow folder before Jerry and turned to the marriage settlement page.
“For my marriage settlement on the part of your infidelity, you are hereby required to pay me the sum of one billion dollars as compensation for my heartache.” Amelia smiled sweetly like an innocent bunny incapable of hurting a fly.
“Failure to do meet the terms of this settlement will attract dire consequences as stated below.”
“Amelia…”
Pascal growled, punching his fist into his palm, making Jerry almost wet his pants.
“As regards flaunting the conditions stated in the trust fund agreement…” Amelia continues speaking. “…you are hereby required to relinquish your ten percent entitlement of the trust to me, with an additional interest of two hundred percent, for breaching the signed agreement of our marriage.”
“What…No! You can’t do this.” Jerry’s widened eye almost popped out of the socket.
“It’s already done, Jerry.” Amelia scoffed. “You will see in this brown envelope that I can be very persuasive.” Amelia tapped her fingers on the sealed brown envelope.
Jerry blinked severally at the folder and envelope, averting Pascal’s spine-chilling glares.
“If you have any questions or concerns as regards the terms and conditions of this divorce, feel free to speak to my lawyer, Mr Herman.” Amelia pointed to the averagely mature man with an air of experience and prestige, who nodded his head curtly in acknowledgment.

Turning her attention to Pascal’s second, she spoke more calmly. “Clay, make sure Mr Morgan signs all papers within the next hour before you throw him out of the building along with his things.”
“With all pleasure, ma’am.” A creepy smile framed the bodyguard’s face as he pulled out a chair beside Jerry and sat down very close to him.
Jerry watched in horror as Amelia and the other bodyguard left the conference room leaving him behind with a psycho breathing down his neck.
“Mr Morgan, I’m a very busy man and I have only twenty minutes of my time to spare. Please let’s make this as quick as possible.” Mr Herman said in a formal tone as he brought out his ball pen and rolled it towards Jerry.
“Shall will begin?” Clay picked up the ball pen and placed it in Jerry’s trembling hands.
Jerry nodded, swallowing his saliva which felt like a thousand needles jabbing down his throat.

“Have you heard, the CEO has fired his backstabbing stepsister.”
Gossip began to spread like wildfire all over the various departments of the company.
None of the staff working at Lila Savvy ever thought that a day would come when the almighty Gwen Shawls, the enviable sister to the CEO would be kicked out of the company like a nobody.
Amused stares and hushed whispers filled the entire reception hall as Gwen finally stepped out of the elevator, escorted by two security officers, both holding two boxes containing her stuff.
“Excuse me, Miss Shawls. I’ve been asked to give you this, by the human resource manager.” A baby-faced receptionist with a tiny voice called out to Gwen, holding out an envelope.
“You can keep it,” Gwen said in a deadpan tone, maintaining her stoic composure while glaring condescendingly at the receptionist.
“But Miss Shawls…”
