Chapter 33: A Stroke Of Luck Or God’s Compensation
“Is this Tonero Yulski?”
“Who wants to know?” A cold voice resounded from the other end.
“Someone you do not want to offend,” Blaze said in a dangerous voice, tapping his finger on the table. “I need you to stand up right now and excuse yourself politely from the beautiful lady before you. Find a private place where you can talk freely.”
A brief smile curled up Blaze’s lips as he heard Amelia’s voice in the background asking if everything was alright.
“We can talk now. May I know who you are please?”
“You are speaking with the president of the Andex group of companies.”
“Mr Blaze Anderson?” The voice of the other man slightly trembled.
“That’s right and I need a favor from you.”
“Anything you want Mr Anderson. Just name it and consider it done.”
“I need you to invest a hundred million dollars into LiLa Savvy.”
“Done. Is there any other thing you want me to do?”
“I do not need to ask you to keep this conversation a secret.”
“Certainly, Mr Anderson.”
“You can return to your meeting.” Blaze ended the call. He rounded up his work on his desk, before picking up his phone and strolling out of the office.

Amelia could barely contain her joy after signing a hundred million deal with TP Ltd. She had come to the Bulvard restaurant with the hope of convincing Mr Tonero to continue doing business with them.
Although Mr Tonero was slightly hesitant at first due to the rumors making waves that she was planning to sell off the company, he later decided to give her company a second chance. And to show his commitment towards the growth of the company, he wrote her a cheque of a hundred million dollars before leaving the restaurant.
Overwhelmed with so much joy and happiness, Amelia completely forgot about the appetizing meal before her even though she had not eaten anything solid since morning.
She couldn’t believe how things were going so smoothly for her. Not only had she gotten rid of the cheating couple from her company, but she had also recovered twice what they stole from her in a single day.
Amelia didn’t know if this was just a stroke of luck or God’s way of compensating her for her heartbreak. But whatever it was, she was grateful.
Picking up her stuff, unaware of the people monitoring and taking pictures of her, she left the restaurants for the Salvine Capitol.
On her way, she got several calls from her stepmother and her uncles, which she declined. However, when Nana Shawls’ number appeared on her screen, she was forced to take it.
“Amelia, how dare you divorce your husband without carrying this family along?”
Amelia peeled the phone from her ear to prevent her grandmother’s high-pitched voice from rupturing her ear drum. She placed the call on speaker and replied calmly.
“Because the last time I checked, Grandma, I was never married to him. I’m simply doing him a favour to be with the woman he truly loves. Shouldn’t you all be thanking me for my noble act?”
“Shut your mouth, you silly little brat.” Nana Shawls’ voice boomed over the phone speaker, causing Amelia to flinch slightly. “What is noble about what you’ve done? Isn’t it bad enough that your sister is suffering from the media’s backlash due to your selfishness? Haven’t you had your feeling of fun? Do you have the slight idea what your divorce would do to your father’s public image? Do you want to see this family become the laughingstock of the entire city? If you know what is good for you, you had better destroy that divorce certificate because this marriage is not over.”
The line instantly disconnected.
Amelia released a sigh, her heart heavy with pain at her grandmother’s hurtful words. She knew Gwen must have exaggerated the whole job termination and divorce at home, turning everyone against her.

But at the moment Amelia cared less. There was no going back to her vomit especially now that she was about to enter a contract marriage with Blaze Anderson.
Switching off her mobile phone and tossing it into her handbag, Amelia rested her aching back on the car seat, while massaging her throbbing forehead.
“Pascal, how long will it take before we get to the Capitol?” Amelia asked.
“In less than five minutes, ma’am,” Pascal replied turning his head to look at his exhausted boss.
“Thank you.” Amelia smiled at him before closing her eyes to catch a brief snap.
Seven minutes later, Amelia’s luxurious black Roll Royce Phantom, pulled over into the highly secured parking lot of the state Capitol.
Pascal jumped out of the car and moved around to open the door for her.
“Thank you.” Amelia smiled as he helped her out of the car.
While Pascal and Clay follow closely behind Amelia as she makes her way towards the gigantic building, Amelia’s third bodyguard, who was also her driver, stayed back in the car.
Following the usual security check procedures, Amelia and her bodyguards took the elevator to the twenty-third floor where her father’s office was located.
When the elevator door dinged, sliding open, she was surprised to see Lin Fox, the head of her father’s security already waiting for her.
“Hello Amelia, it’s good to see you.” Lin, a thirty-five years old badass lady, smartly dressed in a black pantsuit, with her jet black hair neatly packed in a cute bun, extended her right hand towards Amelia
“It’s always a pleasure, Lin.” Amelia plastered a smile on her face as she shook the lady, who according to Marcus had a hand in her abduction.
“Are these handsome men with you?” Lin asked eyeing Pascal and Clay, while moving aside as Amelia stepped out of the elevator with them.
“Yes, they are my bodyguards.”
“Bodyguards!” Lin arched her brows acting surprised. “Why would you need bodyguards when I’m here to serve your family?”
“Preference, integrity, discretion and class.” Amelia’s calm voice was laced with a hint of arrogance and sarcasm. “I’m sure you will understand perfectly having served my family for almost a decade.”
