Chapter 35: Centre of Attraction
An hour later…
The Diamond Star bar was alive and bubbling with so many fun activities as men and women sat down in different small groups, drinking, chatting and enjoying the electrifying background music.
At the upper VIP lounge area of the bar, Blaze was seated opposite his disguised best friend, Henry Brookes drinking vodka and smiling at the latter’s hilarious stories.
Marcus was seated not too far from him, also enjoying the benefits of working with a ruthless but generous boss.
Occasionally, Blaze’s gaze would shift to the ladies seated below at the left-hand side of the bar, a devilish glint flashing across his eyes as he imagined some of the things he would do to that beauty in a black short dress.
—
With hair let down and eyes sparkling like twinkling stars, Amelia was looking completely stunning in her flirtatious open-back short black dress. She was oblivious to the many eyes ogling at her as she kept on laughing heartily at her friends’ wild jokes and silly comments.
All four ladies, including Stacy, were loud, overly dramatic and the centre of attraction to other drinking customers at the bar.
“B”tches, say cheese…”
“Cheese…”
All five ladies chorus raising their drinks in the air as Adriana, the party-loving art collector took selfies of her girls.
“Let’s get drunk and wasted,” Adriana screamed dramatically, popping another bottle of champagne. She quickly uploaded the pictures, tagging a lot of her other friends with different hashtags

“This is to all the jerks who think they can f**K our sisters…” Kyla, a redhead beauty and one of the top models in the fashion industry lifted her champagne glass in the air.
“Their slim ass secretaries…” Nicole, a chubby lady with a cute baby face and the number leading entertainment journalist in Salvine city joined in the toast.
“Their big-breasted masseuse…” Adrianna joined in the toast.
“Huh!” All her girlfriends turned in her direction including Amelia, eyes widened and jaws dropping.
Tears gathered in Adriana’s eyes as she confessed her pain for the first time.
“I just found out that Kelvin is f**king his damn masseuse.”
“Ugh!” Amelia, who was the closest to her hugged her. “Don’t waste your tears on the bastard. It’s his loss.”
“Yeah.” Other concurred.
“Let’s not kill the fun,” Adrianna said, dabbing at the corner of her eyes. “Amelia is your turn.”
“To the scum, who prefers our stepsister…” Amelia raised her orange cocktail glass in the air.
“Yeah!”
“To that mother f**ker who will dare to break my heart.” Stacy raised her yellow cocktail glass in the air.

“Cheers b*tches!”
The boisterous cheers, clinking of glasses and laughter attracted Henry.
“What is happening down there?” Henry asked tilting his head backwards.
“It’s nothing,” Blaze said, masking a smug smile tugging at the corner of his lips with his raised glass.
“Wow!” Henry marvelled at the sight of the gorgeously dressed ladies below, his deep blue eyes singling out one of them. “Blaze, who is that hot pretty lady in black?”
“Which one?” The smile vanished from Blaze’s eyes and was replaced with something darker and cold as Henry pointed towards Amelia.
“That one with the golden brown hair,” Henry said dreamily, unaware of the darkened eyes glaring at him. “I think I’m in love.”
Marcus, who was alert to his boss’s reaction feared that Henry was about to get a fist in his face.
But everything changed when Henry added.
“Wait a second, isn’t that Tina.”
“Tina?” Blaze’s vicious gaze moved from Henry back to the giggling ladies.
“Yes, Tina Stevens, your ex,” Henry replied, gesturing at one of the two ladies who had just approached the partying girls.
Blaze’s gaze switched from cold and vicious to highly inflammable.
“Marcus!” Blaze growled in a low but deep tone.
“On it, boss.” Marcus abruptly stood up and left the lounge.
The five friends were still laughing and making wild jokes when one of their friends, Joana came along with a plus one.
“Hey, girls!”
“Jo baby!” They all chanted, standing up and hugging their sixth friend.
At this point, Amelia was already feeling wobbly on her legs as the alcohol in her drink began to kick in.
“Sorry, I came late. Hope you guys didn’t catch all the fun without me.”
“Nah…the fun is just beginning.” Nicole signalled the waiter to get more glasses as they all sat down.
“Who is this beauty,” Kayla asked, eying the blonde-haired, tall and slim lady seated calmly beside her.
“Guys, I want you all to meet my new friend who just relocated to the state after signing a billion-dollar contract with Kendrick Studios,” Joana said pointing at Tina.
“Oooo…”
“Nice…”
“Fancy…”
“Congratulations.”
Everyone on the table was receptive towards Tina.
“So what’s your name bumpkin?” Nicole asked, beaming at her.
“It’s Tina Stevens.” She said blushing.
“Welcome to the Foxy Club, Tina.” Adriana raised her glasses to the newcomer. “I wish you a pleasant stay in this beautiful city filled with lots of fun, drama, and love.”
“And don’t forget heartbreak,” Kayla added, causing everyone to burst out laughing.
“So what are we celebrating.” Tina was curious as she secretly checked out all the pretty ladies on the table, singling out who was prettier.
“Her divorce from a jackass.” Adrianna pointed at Amelia.
“Ugh!” Tina sighed feeling sorry for Amelia.
“You don’t have to feel that way, dear. I’m good.” Amelia reassured her.
“So Tina, have you had your heart broken before?” Nicole, the most inquisitive one in the group, asked pouring her a drink.
“Not really.” Tina shrugged accepting the glass of wine offered to her. “I’ll say it’s the other way around.”
“Are you trying to say you broke a man’s heart?” Stacy asked, eyes brimming with anticipation.
“It sounds harsh if you put it like that but yes.”
“Do tell.” Kayla pleaded dramatically making everyone on the table giggle.
“Well… It’s not something I like to share.” Tina hesitated a little. “But since we are honouring Amelia here, I could just give a summary but no names.”
“No names.” Others chorused, all their eyes glued at their new friend.
Amelia, whose ears were burning to hear Tina’s story ignored her phone which was ringing continuously.
