Chapter 54: Gullible Mrs Gwen Morgan

A lot had taken place in Jerry’s life over the last seventy-two hours since Amelia’s reappearance. Not only was he about to lose everything he had toiled for in the past five years, but his family was also about to lose their company and possibly their lives if their secret was exposed.

After going through the contents of the brown envelope Amelia gave him the previous day, Jerry hadn’t been himself.

A chapter of his life and that of his family which had been jealously guarded and hidden for decades was about to be exposed by his vengeful ex-wife.

Jerry had no clue how Amelia got hold of those pictures and information she gave him. She never struck him as the kind of lady who would dare to get herself involved in the treacherous underworld business dealings. She was too fragile and decent for that kind of life.

Nevertheless, after watching her glamorous comeback, flaunting an unknown source of wealth and parading fearsome bodyguards, it became clear to Jerry that someone powerful and dangerous was backing her.

The question now was, who? Who was this unknown powerful force giving her the morale to step on the heads of vipers without getting bitten? Every contact he made to find out this unknown villain or hero’s identity was met with a dead end.

At the moment, Jerry could literally see his life heading for the edge of a steep mountain. He was about to lose everything if he didn’t do something to stop Amelia or her unknown benefactor, who were currently seeking his blood.

Amelia’s arrogant lawyer had only given him a week to pay up a total sum of three billion dollars for the divorce settlement and infringement of the marriage agreement or face a catastrophic lawsuit.

Jerry’s only way out of this hell hole was Gwen. He was aware of some of the transactions she had consummated in the process of disposing some of Amelia’s trust fund assets. He also knew there was no way Amelia could get back her property from Gwen after playing along with the false marriage.

Gwen Shawls now Gwen Morgan seemed to be the only one untouched in this backlash. She had the majority of Amelia’s liquidated assets. She was the gold mine and Jerry’s ticket to salvation.

With Gwen’s money, which Jerry was hoping to possess as her husband, he would be able to settle Amelia, pay up his family’s outstanding debt to the mafia and live a life filled with luxury.

According to his calculation so far, Gwen had made more than five billion dollars from sales of only ten percent of the trust fund assets. However, she only declared two billion dollars, which was shared discreetly amongst all the major characters in the criminal plot. None of the other greedy family members were aware of Gwen’s deceit except Regina. For all they knew, they had each made millions of dollars they never worked for and they trusted Gwen.

Five minutes after the senator left the hospital, Jerry also left in a rush, stating that he had some urgent business to attend to. He intentionally made Gwen tag along, masking his hidden agenda of separating her from her calculative mother.

They both got into his newly acquired Ferrari and zoomed off, heading in the direction of Mort Lead Enterprise.

“Babe, I just came up with a brilliant idea on how we can reclaim our envious spot in the elite society while throwing a direct punch in that b*tch face.”

“Really!” Gwen eyes lit up with excitement. “Tell me all about it. I want to bring that b*tch down to her knees.”

“It’s very simple. She kicked both of us out of her company forgetting that I was once the envious CEO of Mort Lead Enterprise. I only stepped aside for my younger brother to manage it while I helped her develop LiLa Savvy. I have been talking to my dad and my younger brother and they have both agreed that I should take back my position as CEO.”

“Are you kidding me? Baby that is good news.” Gwen chirped happily, showering Jerry’s side face with lots of kisses while he tried to focus on the road.

“That’s not all,” Jerry said grinning devilishly in his heart.

“There is more?”

“Yes, honey. Since you are now officially my wife, I want you to be part of the family business.”

“Aww…” Gwen gushed over her husband, wishing Amelia was here so that she could rub it all over her face.

“Working with LiLa Savvy has given me a lot of business ideas about cosmetic diversity. I have decided to create a subsidiary cosmetic company under Mort Lead Enterprise. It will be headed by you and some of the best cosmetic scientists and cosmetologists in Salvine.

“Ah…” Gwen gasped, eyes widened and her opened mouth formed a perfect O.

“Since I will be displacing my brother as the CEO, he has agreed to work with you as the finance and marketing director. With his wide range of knowledge in account management and business management, I can assure you that Lila Savvy will be forgotten in less than a year.”

“Oh, baby…” Gwen unstrapped her seat belt again and moved in for a passionate kiss.

But Jerry who actually knew what he wanted, saved the financial commitment aspect of his pitch for the right moment. He responded to her sultry kisses briefly and asked her to wait. He branched off the main road and drove some distance into a park before stopping by a less crowded corner.

“Come here, baby,” Jerry said in a husky voice as he claimed Gwen’s lip, eagerly taking off her clothes. He didn’t give her any room to doubt his love for her or the genuity of his business plan as he made known their financial obligations to the success of the business deal while f**king her brains out.

By the time Jerry was done tormenting every part of Gwen’s sensitive body leaving her completely breathless and hopelessly in love, Gwen found herself saying yes to ridiculous financial obligations thrown at her.

After they left the park, Jerry first took Gwen to meet with his brother and father, before they both left for the bank to make some huge money transfer.

Before they left the bank, Jerry made Gwen promise him that none of their business ideas would be made known to a single soul until they had actualized their plans.

Meanwhile, at Kendrick Studio, Tina was busy going through a new movie script inside the well-ventilated and furnished studio changing room.

Aside from her personal assistant and confidant, Remy, who was slouched on the couch reading a gossip magazine, there was no one inside the changing room.

Smiling and chuckling at some humorous dialogue, Tina heard her phone beeped twice indicating she had just received a message.

Flipping over to the next page, her eyes darting between the interesting script and her phone screen, she nonchalantly opened the WhatsApp message received.

However when her eyes fell on a picture of Amelia smiling at her future mother-in-law, she impulsively dropped the script, her pupil dilated in complete shock.
