Chapter 62: I’m Not Your Mom
“Hmm…” Amelia chuckled. “Tina, I think you must be mistaken. First off, my bodyguard here is not a grumpy fellow. He simply being polite while doing his job. Secondly, this can’t be the room you’re referring to. Is possible you got your information wrong because in there are my friends and a very special someone.”
“Really!” Tina’s grip on her purse tightened. “How strange.” She dramatically moved backwards as if confused, while rechecking the room numbers. “But I was told VIP room number three and there are only six consecutively numbered rooms on this hall. Could it be…..”
“Why don’t you go back to the person who gave you the wrong information?” Amelia intentionally cut her off, a smirk playing at the corner of her lips. “I’m sure only then can the error be sorted out.”
‘Nice one, b*tch. But you cannot get rid of me that easily.’ Tina scoffed inwardly.
“That sounds like a great idea, Amelia.” Tina walked back to her. “However, I will also need you to come with me in case the mix-up isn’t from my end. Please…” Tina pouted cutely while batting her long lashes.
“That wouldn’t be a problem.”
“Oh, thank you.” Tina was about to hug Amelia when her next word stung her on the cheek like a hornet bee.
Amelia turned her attention to Pascal. “Please, escort Miss Tina to the manager and help her sort out this mix-up.”
“With all pleasure, ma’am.” Pascal turned his slightly amused attention to Tina, who was no longer smiling. “Shall we.”
Tina shot him a nasty glare.
“But Amelia, why can’t you come with me instead of asking your bodyguard to follow me? That is so downgrading.”
“I’m sorry if you feel that way, Tina. I would have loved to accompany you, but I’ve been keeping my friends waiting for too long. I’m sure you’ll understand. Do have a good evening.”
Amelia turned around as Clay opened the door for her and disappeared into the room.
“Miss Tina…” Pascal gestured forward.
“There’s no need for you to accompany me. I’ll sort it out myself.” Tina hissed and walked away.
Inside the dining room, Amelia was impressed by the gentlemanly reception she received. Not only did both men stand up as she approached the table, but Blaze also pulled out her seat, an unreadable smile framing his handsome face.
Unknown to Amelia, Blaze had been listening to all her conversations with Tina and he was proud of the way she handled herself again.
The rest of the dining went on smoothly, with Henry entertaining everyone, especially Amelia with his numerous adventures in the movie world.
When it was time to leave, Blaze opted to take his mother home, giving Henry the rare privilege to escort Amelia separately to her own car but with a stern warning.
Blaze and Maria were strolling hand in hand, making their way towards the restaurant exit when Tina who had been patiently seated by an empty table close to the entrance stood up.
“Blaze!” Tina called out in a surprised tone as if she was seeing him for the first time that evening. Her sharp and thrilled voice attracted the attention of a few diners, who couldn’t help but admire her beauty.
Blaze and Maria both turned their heads to the right, in Tina’s direction.
“Tina!” Maria, who had been kept in the dark about Tina’s relocation was surprised to see her.
“Mum.” Tina hurried over to Maria and excitedly threw her arm around Maria’s neck, why deliberately brushing her body on Blaze’s chest and arm.
Blaze clenched his jaws, his happy countenance turning sour at Tina’s audacity to ambush his mother in a public place. But he felt his mother patting him gently on his stiffened arm, a nonverbal way of asking him to stay calm.
Somewhere inside the restaurant, someone paid by Tina was busy capturing these rare moments on camera.
Not wanting to embarrass Tina out in the open, Maria cleared her throat and said. “You can let go of me now, Tina. You are choking me.”
“Oh…I’m so sorry Mom. I was so excited to see you.” Tina said pulling away from Maria, who was now staring blankly at her. She took two steps backwards, an enchanting smile framing her pretty face. “Is so good to see you, Mom, after such a long time.”
“The feeling is not mutual,” Maria said coldly, her gaze shifting to the door.

Ignoring the cold reception, Tina went on to compliment Maria.
“You look as young and beautiful as always, Mom. For a second, I almost mistook you as Blaze’s girlfriend.” Tina said, tucking her wavy hair behind her ear to show off the diamond jade earrings while beaming flirtatiously at Blaze.
“Aren’t you the best at flattery?” Maria replied dryly, angered by Tina’s boldness.
“Oh no, Mom, I wasn’t flattering you. You look really awesome.”
“Whatever you say. But as you can see, we were on our way out before you stopped us.”
“Oh, where are my manners?” Tina chuckled sweetly as she moved out of their way. “I will escort you to your car.”
Neither Blaze nor his mother responded to her as they both strolled out of the restaurant, with Tina tagging along behind them.
When Maria finally got to her car, away from prying eyes and ears, she turned around to face, Tina.
“Mom, I am very sorry for everything that happened between…”
Smack!
Maria’s right hand came down fiercely on Tina’s left cheek causing her head to whip sideways.
Blaze smiled in satisfaction as he watched Tina raise her hand to her stinging cheek, her eyes welling up with threatening tears.
“First off, I am not your mom. I know you are not blind to distinguish between your mother and me.” Maria snarled, her tone dripping with so much bitterness.
Tina held on to her burning cheek, tears streaming down her reddened face as Maria spat out more hurtful words.
“Secondly, you do have some nerves to show your face to me after everything you did to hurt my son and me. Thank your stars that I’m in a good mood this evening otherwise, I would have shown you what an enraged mother can do. And lastly, it may interest you to know that my son has gotten over you. So you can stop trying so hard to make an impression because you are nothing more than a relic that deserves to be put away in the museum.” Maria pointed her forefinger in Tina’s face, her inflamed eyes narrowed and vicious.
“The next time you pull this kind of stunt with me and my son in public, I won’t hesitate to shred you to bits. Now get lost.” Maria hissed as she got into the back seat of her limousine. “Blaze…”
“One minute Mom.” Blaze held onto the opened door, his lips stretching in a devilish grin. “If it’s any consolation, your dress still fits and I’m impressed you didn’t pound the jade earrings I got you. But like my mother rightly said, it will be in your best interest to avoid us and save yourself from further embarrassment.”
“Blaze, I’m sorry. I still love you” Tina almost went down on her knees, but her dress was too tight.
“Goodbye, Tina and I wish you good luck in your movie career.” Blaze got into the car and slammed the door in her face.
