Chapter 70: The Reason Why

Prior to his father’s betrayal and untimely death, Blaze wasn’t always this bitter and aggressive.

While Presley Anderson’s family company fell into deep waters, three of his major partners, who later opted out of the capsizing ship, acquired the majority stake of some striving production firm and rose astronomically overnight.

Consequently, Anderson Mineral Ltd folded up after three months of struggling to stay afloat.

The heavily indebted and heartbroken chairman died shortly, after revealing a distressing secret to his only son.

According to Presley, Gregory Shawls, his former roommate at the university was the one who introduced him to these mindless business partners that took away everything from him.

Presley trusted Gregory like a brother and signed an exclusive business contract with the wolves in sheep’s clothing, overlooking a ten billion infringement fine if he failed to deliver on a specified date. The profit to be made was huge and the international exposure was enticing.

At the young age of twenty-six, Blaze became one of the top-ranking billionaires in the country, reclaiming her father’s trampled glory.

Although he was approached by leading companies and private individuals with lucrative investment deals, Blaze only had his eyes on a selected few companies.

Over the years, he had watched these greedy bastards responsible for his father’s death, enjoy a lavish lifestyle, celebrate new achievements and excel in their businesses and families. Blaze also watched them as they stood and supported the one man who lured his father into the death trap, in his political ambitions.

One by one, Blaze discreetly went after them, saving the best for last. Not only did he crumble their businesses, breaking and selling them like scrapes in the business market, but he took the war to their respective homes, ensuring that their trophy wives and children suffered the same fate he and his mother were made to endure.

On the day Blaze accidentally ran into Amelia, he was returning home from successfully acquiring, Lotbycus International, worth over fourteen billion dollars from the cancer-stricken chairman.

Although he never factored into getting entangled in a contract marriage with the enemy’s daughter, he decided to use her as the perfect tool to bring down her father.

Amelia arrived at the Galway Hotel and Event Center, cladded in an elegant strapless embellished lace and fitted satin mint green gown with a high thigh slit. Her golden brown wavy hair fell delicately on her shoulders, giving her a vibrant and sexy look. Her minimal make-up and simple jewellery, allowed the flashing camera light to capture her natural glow and beauty as she took different postures behind the Green Carpet fashion show backdrop.

Amelia wasn’t just here to support her friend Kayla in her new fashion line display. She was also here to promote her brand, which happened to be one of the sponsors of the grand event.

As always, Amelia was the centre of attraction on the green carpet, as she socialized with different brand owners, and celebrities, taking group pictures and personal shots. She granted a few interviews talking passionately about the relevance of the green fashion week and digital fashion.

When some nosy journalist tried to get information about her love life, she gave bits and pieces, enough to hold them in suspense for the right moment when she would introduce Blaze Anderson as her husband.

Just then, Gwen arrived at the venue looking glamorous and sophisticated in an eye-catching and slightly revealing champagne gold lace gown. Her full lips were as red as scarlet and her gorgeous chignon-styled hair revealed an impressive firework starburst diamond earrings.

Beside Gwen, was her shameless husband, rocking a black tuxedo and looking like a million-dollar man. He held Gwen firmly on the waist smiling broadly and creating a spectacle for the hungry paparazzi and journalists.
