Chapter 75: Miserable Tina
Tina rushed into one of the toilet cubicles in the convenience, her tears falling in torrents and her heart bleeding at Blaze’s rejection and Amelia’s betrayal. She angrily slammed the door shut and sat on the toilet seat, burying her head in her hands and crying her heart out.
After meeting with Blaze last night and listening to the way he complimented her outfit, she felt he was cold towards her because of his angry mother. So she decided to find a way to meet with him privately while penetrating his mother through Amelia.
She didn’t envisage him showing up in front of her friends at the party. And knowing who her friends were around hot and sexy men, she wasn’t about to take any chances. She had only stood up to clear the air and stake her claim on Blaze. She never dreamt he would go that far to embarrass her, especially in a public place filled with a lot of elite people.
Not only did he succeed in humiliating her, but he also asked another lady to dance in front of her. The same lady who she have been trying to make peace with all day, thinking she accused her wrongly. The same lady who was now very good friends with his mom. The same lady who bluntly denied being in a relationship with him.
“How could I have been so stupid?” Tina regretted apologizing to Amelia. She wished Amelia were here with her right now so that she could shred her into bits. Her hatred for Amelia quadrupled as she imagined Blaze and Amelia twirling on the dance floor.
“Tina!” Joanna pushed open the convenience door, calling out her friend’s name passionately. She was met by two ladies who were standing before the mirror chatting and retouching their makeup. They both unanimously turned to look at her a little bit startled by her dramatic entry.
“Sorry.” Tina closed the door behind her. “Please have any of you seen a lady in a green dress come in here?” Joanna asked.
“Do you mean the one crying in that last toilet cubicle?” One of the ladies pointed to a closed cubicle, recalling her the pretty blonde lady in green had rushed in without talking to any of them, her face lowered.
“Oh…thanks.” Tina hurried to the exact cubicle, her heart heavy for her distraught friend. She tried to open it but it was locked from inside.
“Tina!” Joanna knocked repeatedly on the cubicle door, pressing her ear on the door to listen for any sign. She could hear muffled sniffles at intervals. “Tina, please open the door.”
“Go away!” Tina said in a broken voice.
“Tina, come on. I’m not the enemy here.” Joanna pleaded, tilting her head to look at the two ladies who had both stopped what they were doing and were staring at her.
“Please can I have some privacy with my friend? She’s heartbroken.” Joanna pleaded.
“Sure.” The first gave an apologetic smile as quickly rounded up what she was doing.
“I hope she gets better.” The second lady smiled sadly as she walked towards the door.
“Thanks.” Joanna waited for both ladies to exit the convenience before hurrying to the door and locking it from inside. She made sure that other cubicles were empty before returning to the cubicle where Tina was and knocked again.
“Tina. It’s just the two of us now in here. Please open the door. Don’t make me beg. Whatever it is, we can work it out together.”
Joanna heard a click and smiled as the door knob turned. She completed the remaining task of opening the door by pushing it.
“Oh, baby girl…” Joanna was disheartened to see her pretty friend’s face looking all red, with messy makeup.
“I’ve never been so humiliated in all my life.” Tina hiccupped, more tears falling from her eyes.
“I’m so sorry, Tina. I guess he is still very much mad at you and trying to get back at you.” Joanna said stroking her hair. “It’s never a good experience when one partner leaves the other. I guess now you know how he felt all those years.”
“But I said I was sorry. I really am.” Tina wiped the streaming tears with the back of her hand, smearing her make-up the more. “He didn’t have to treat me like a total stranger out there for everyone to see.”
“Not everyone silly. Only a few saw what happened. They were too busy dancing and getting drunk.” Joanna reassured her.
“Moreover, breaking someone’s heart and saying sorry doesn’t work with the snap of a finger. This thing needs time. Only time can heal all wounds.” Joanna knelt down to look into Tina’s said eyes. “I know this because I’m speaking from experience. It’s not easy to get over a heartbreak especially when you love someone. Maybe what he needs right now is a little space before you try again.”
“And let another girl take him away from me? No. I can’t do that. I can’t take such a risk. I want him back. I will do whatever it takes to make him happy. Help me. Help me win him back. I love him. Please.” Tina pleaded desperately, holding Joanna on the arm.
“How do you expect me to do that?” Joanna’s forehead furrowed. “Mr Anderson is not the type of man you can approach with such matters. He’s a very private man and temperamental. Everyone knows about him or do you have a better idea?”
“Amelia.” Tina sniffled, her voice dripping with anger and jealousy.
“What about her?” Joanna’s frown deepened.
“I think Blaze is into her.”

“You can say that for sure.” Joanna shook her head.
“Is the truth. I’ve seen the way they look at each other. At first, I thought I was wrong but now I am almost a hundred percent sure that something is going on between them. I can’t have Amelia take Blaze away from me. There are other men out there that she can go after.”
Joanna sighed standing up. The air in the cubicle suddenly felt a bit tense so she came out into the open space to breathe in fresh air and clear her thoughts. “I think you are exaggerating this. Asking Amelia to the dance floor doesn’t mean he’s already dating her.”
“I can prove it.” Tina also stood up and joined her only friend.
“But Amelia has remarried,” Joanna said in a defensive tone even though she began to doubt the possibility after seeing the way Amelia froze in Blaze’s presence.
“Do you know her husband?”
“No.”
“Have you. seen anyone posing as her husband before?” Tina asked again.
“No.” Joanna sighed.
“Did she invite you guys to her secret second marriage?”
“Why would she want to invite us when it is secret?” Joanna pursed her lips.
