Chapter 85: My Heart Is Aching 1
“I’m trying mum.” Tina sniffled, wiping her tears with the back of her hands. “I’m trying my best.”
“Your best is not good enough. Try harder.” Eunice snapped, feeling more angry at herself than her daughter. “So far, all I’ve seen is you making more mistakes and a fool of yourself than getting results.”
“Mum…” Tina’s reddened eyes widened. Here she was expecting to get comfort from her mother. “Don’t you feel my pain? My heart is breaking.”
“Pff… please don’t get me started.” Eunice scoffed remembering how she had begged this stubborn daughter of hers when she rejected Blaze’s proposal, choosing a career over a perfect gentleman when she could have both.
“If your heart is breaking, you won’t have left Blaze all those years after your elder brother, your father and I begged you. If your heart is breaking, you won’t have destroyed my relationship with Maria, who would have been the best mother-in-law to you. If your heart is truly breaking, you wouldn’t have ended up in a strange man’s bed two nights ago after your first encounter Blaze.”
“Mummy!” Tina couldn’t believe the harsh words coming from her mother’s mouth.
“The truth is bitter, darling and you have to face it. When I said I was going to help you win your man back, I didn’t sign up for a crybaby. I only agree to help you because deep down, I know you and Blaze are destined for each other.”
Eunice paused to massage her chest which had been aching recently. She took in a deep breath and continued speaking.
“My dear child, it’s not like I don’t feel your pain. To be honest, it hurts me every time I see you crying. But crying isn’t the answer to this problem. I can assure you that you will never win Blaze over by acting sympathetic. You need to show him the girl he fell in love with. The girl he will move mountains for just to please. The girl he was willing to spend the rest of his life with. Amelia or whatever that girl’s name is is no match to you. You are a beautiful, strong and confident woman. Show Blaze how tough and resilient you can be.”
Tina nodded her head, wiping more of her tears with the back of her hand.
“Come here, my darling.” Eunice released a sigh as she pulled Tina into her arms and cuddled her like a baby.
“Your brother will be returning to the country in four days.”
“Really!” Tina lifted her head from her mother’s chest, a faint smile tugging on her lips. “Kelvin is returning?”
“Yes,” Eunice said, pinching Tina on the chin. “It was meant to be a surprise but now I’ve let the cat out of the bag just to make you happy.
“Thank you, mommy.”
“You’re welcome my darling but that’s not all.”
“There is more?” Tina’s sad eyes brightened a bit.
“Yes. I have spoken with Maria and she has finally agreed to meet with me on Monday morning at our former tea house.” Eunice said proudly, as though she had just won a contract.
“That’s awesome, mommy. Can I come?”
“No. It is just for us mothers. Focus on dealing with that Amelia lady. But right now, I need you to take this glass of juice.” Eunice picked up the glass of apple juice and handed it over to Tina. “Drink it and freshen up. Remi just called me that you have a shoot by 11:00 AM.”
“Okay, Mom. Thank you.” Tina kissed her mother on the cheek before taking a sip of her juice.

After spending her entire morning in Blaze’s intimate company, enjoying delicious continental dishes, a good massage and mind-blowing sex, Amelia was ready to face the reality of her life, following an urgent call that took Blaze away. He encouraged her to stay as long as she needed in the hotel room before returning home.
Consequently, Amelia decided she would stay at the hotel until evening before returning home. She stopped by the private pool area and had a relaxing swim under the watchful eyes of her bodyguards.
Afterwards, she visited the spa and had her manicure and pedicure done. She also had her hair revamped and styled neatly before returning to her hotel room looking refreshed.
It was already approaching 4:00 PM when Amelia picked up her phone from where Blaze tossed it the previous night and switched it on.
Immediately the phone came on, it started beeping and buzzing with so many missed calls, text messages and voice notes from her family, friends and even Tina.
Amelia scoffed as she went through some of the text messages from Tina and listened to all her voice notes.

“What’s a deranged lady?” Amelia hissed knowing how much Blaze despised Tina. “If only she could wake up from her delusion and see that Blaze has moved on.”
Amelia listened to more voice notes from her friends and couldn’t help laughing at some of their silly comments and nosy questions. However, when she went through Joanna’s messages, her forehead furrowed.
The tone in Joanna’s message felt as though the latter was already accusing her of stealing someone else’s man.
“What rubbish has Tina fed Joanna?” Amelia was tempted to call Joanna but decided to reach out to Stacy first.
Releasing a sigh, Amelia was about to dial Stacy’s number when her father’s call entered her phone. She swiped the receive button and was about to speak when her dad’s angry voice rang in her ear.
“Amelia, where have you been all this while that I’ve been trying to reach you?”
A crease appeared on Amelia’s forehead but it quickly disappeared, knowing that her father would have a good reason for raising his voice at her.
“I’m sorry, Dad. I needed some rest and I had to put off my phone.”
“She is lying.” Amelia heard the unmistakable voice of her stepmother in the background.
“Can you keep quiet and let me speak with my daughter?” Amelia heard her father rebuke Regina, causing a smile to tug at the corner of her lips.
“You got me worried sick thinking that something bad has happened to you. Are you all right?” Senator Gregory asked from the other end, his voice less tense than it was earlier.
“Yes, Dad. I’m fine.”
“I’m guessing you didn’t get my message earlier this morning since your phone was switched off.”
“No, I didn’t. Is anything the matter?” Amelia asked, arching her eyebrow. “Is grandma alright.”
“Yes, your grandmother is fine. But your sister and her husband were arrested last night and they were forced to spend the night behind bars.”
“Seriously!” Amelia cupped her mouth to prevent herself from bursting into laughter. “What was their crime, Dad?”
“It’s very humiliating and you won’t believe it if I told you.”
“Try me.” Amelia stifled a chuckle.
“They were accused of theft, breaking and entry.”
“Really!” Amelia was dumbfounded. “How is that possible?”
“Exactly my point. But your sister and her husband have refused to comment on the issue even after they were made to pay a huge fine because of the dangerous man involved.”
Amelia could feel her heart beating as she asked. “Who is this man Dad.”
“Blaze Anderson.”
