Chapter 97: Falling Out 1
Like an angry horse with an itchy nose, Joanna sprang to her feet, almost knocking off her milkshake on the table if it hadn’t been for Kayla’s swift action.
“Watch that stinking gutter of yours, Stacy. I will not sit down here and what you indirectly call my friend or prostitute.”
“Joanna!” Nicole called in a rebuking tone.
“No, you watch your trashy mouth, Joanna.” Stacy also jumped to her feet, wagging a finger at her, ready to claw at her face if need be. “I didn’t call your friend any name but if you think she’s one then so be it.”
Amelia and the others stood up while the manager of the coffee shop with Amelia’s bodyguards rushed down to the table. But the two most angry ladies on the table kept lashing out at each other, calling each other names and boring a big hole in their friendship bond.
Joanna laughed bitterly. “I am not surprised that you will shamelessly support Amelia’s indecent action. Or do you think I don’t see the way you two exchange suspicious glances? I know all your schemes to snatch my friend’s lover but you two will not succeed.”
“What stupid scheme are you insinuating? Don’t tell me that wannabe friend of yours put you up to this. Isn’t it damaging enough that she has been going about calling Amelia names all for the sake of a man who doesn’t want her? How cheap can she be? Where is her dignity and pride? Where is your for defending her. The last time I checked, only desperados blindly chase after a man.” Stacy snarled, clicking her tongue.
“How dare you call my friend a desperado?” Joanna lunched forward raising her hand to slap Stacy. But others quickly intervene and stop her from making the biggest mistake of her life.
“Ladies, please, can we keep it down here? You are scaring my other customers. If you are done, you can take your fight outside my establishment.” The old manager of the coffee shop warned sternly.
“Ma’am…”
“I’m fine Pascal.” Amelia snapped angrily at Pascal. “Give me some time.”
“Okay.” Pascal nodded with a polite smile, listening to the instruction from his Bluetooth device attached to his ear and his angry boss’s wife.
Amelia turned her attention to the manager and apologized on behalf of her friends.
“Mr Chow, I’m so sorry for the disruption. I promise we will control our temper. Won’t we ladies?”
They all grumbled different responses before taking their seat.
“Please, keep your voice down.” The older manager reiterated before leaving the table.
Older other customers who were enjoying the young ladies squabbling were slightly disappointed as they turned their heads back to enjoy their snacks and coffee.
A deafening silence rained for the next few minutes as everyone was busy assembling their thoughts and weighing their decision, until Kayla finally cleared her throat and spoke calmly.
“Girls, we have been friends for decades. Let’s not throw all of that because of one person who is not fully a member of this group.
“That one person happens to be my very good friend.” Joanna hissed turning her face aside.
“Point taken Joanna. She is your very good friend but we cannot let her come between us.”
“I agree with Kayla,” Nicole said, still in a daze about everything.
“To be fair, Amelia is right,” Adrianna said cautiously averting Joanna’s scowl. “Tina didn’t mention her boyfriend’s name before Amelia told us she was married. Moreover, I think the man has a right to choose who he wants to marry or love. If he chooses to be with Amelia then she has my full support and blessing.”
“You know what, I’m not surprised.” Joanna said bringing out some cash from her bag and putting it under her plate. She picked up her bag and stood up. “I think I’ve heard enough. It’s obvious you all have taken sides with Amelia. But it’s fine. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.”
“Jay, don’t talk like that.” Nicole stood up to stop Joanna from leaving, but the latter was not done talking.
“But get this Amelia, you don’t take advantage of another person’s misery and expect to have a happy ending. That is not how the law of fairy tales works. I am out of this group.” She hissed and walked away.
“Jay…” Nicole ran after her, while the others remained seated feeling guilty about losing a dear friend.
Amelia lowered her head, feeling even more miserable. She wanted to stand up and go after Joanna but Stacy stopped her.
“Let her cool off, Amy. She’s angry and won’t listen to anything you will say to her right now.”

“That’s true.” Kayla released a deep sigh. “Moreover she’s angry with all of us. She thinks we all betrayed her.”
“I feel like shit right now.” Adrianna signalled the waiter to bring more chocolate muffins, causing Stacy to raise an eyebrow. “What! Sweet help me when I f**king miserable.”
“Girls, Nicole is coming and she doesn’t look happy.” Kayla alerted everyone on the table.
“Amelia,” Nicole flipped her chair to face Amelia before sitting down. “You have got some serious explaining to do. For example, did you really know that Tina was planning to get back with your so-called husband before you got married to him?
“I swear on my mother’s grave, Nicole, I didn’t no,” Amelia said in a bitter tone, tears clouding her vision. “Before I met Tina on the day Joanna introduced her to us at the bar, Mr Anderson and I were already planning to get married the next day.
Adrianna believed everything Amelia said and didn’t bother asking her questions.
“How did you guys meet? Were you lovers before?” Kayla asked, pulling her seat closer.
“No, we were not lovers. Remember I told you guys I was kidnapped on the eve of my wedding. It was Mr Anderson that rescued me from drowning when I got into an accident, escaping.”
“Ooh…” All of them nodded, seeing the attraction.
“Do you love him?” Nicole asked, having a change of heart to support Amelia.
“I…”
“Where is that heartless b*tch!”
Someone barged into the coffee shop screaming at the top of her voice, interrupting Amelia.
“Tina!” Kayla’s eyes widened.
“Who gave her this address?” Adrianna asked looking at Nicole suspiciously.
“I didn’t…” Nicole raised her two hands up.
“Joanna…” Stacy spat out between clenched teeth.
“You think you can steal my man?” Tina bellowed as Pascal and Clay blocked her path. “You think you can go behind my back and marry my lover? I will f*cking destroy you in the city. I swear.”
“Amelia you don’t have to say anything to her,” Kayla warned, afraid of a media stunt.
“I won’t,” Amelia promised.
Mr Chow came out again. But this time he was accompanied by two of his sons.
“Throw that mad woman outside.” Mr Chow ordered his two sons and they swung into action.
“Face me you f*cking b*tch. Do you think I will let you marry my man in peace? I will destroy you.” Tina kept ranting on and on as she was dragged out of the coffee shop.
Amelia took one look at the infuriated old man and decided it was time to leave.
“Girls, we’ll talk to each other later,” Amelia said hastily as she observed a call coming from Blaze, whom she had begged that whatever happened he must never show his face.
“Certainly,” they all hugged and said their goodbyes before departing one after the other.
Outside the coffee shop, Amelia was expecting to see Tina preparing for a brawl. But to her surprise, Tina was nowhere to be found.
