Chapter 213: Mandatory Quest
Under thousands of eyes, a majestic white and blue-themed convoy left Valenzia City.
Initially, upon their arrival, this very convoy was met with nothing but scorn and insults.
However, this time, as they marched out of the city gates, people cheered for them—a stark contrast to their arrival.
Shye was naturally seated inside the front carriage, looking out the window and seemingly pondering about something important.
The mandatory quest truly shook his heart and he couldn’t help but think that the old man’s request wasn’t as simple as it seemed.
However, it appeared he was already deeply involved in this situation.
His options boiled down to either completing the quests and complying with the old man’s demands or forfeiting the system’s benefits.
Although Shye wasn’t sure whether Sanada had good intentions or not, it was a fact that the old man helped him and his sister so his decision was leaning towards assisting the old man.
Hopefully, things wouldn’t unfold in a direction he found unfavorable—specifically, the evil path.
‘The old man shouldn’t be an actual villain…right?’ Shye wondered as he checked the mandatory quest again.

Shye took a deep breath, discreetly closed the system’s interface, and stared out the window again.
Based on his computations, the time limit of this mandatory quest was a year and three months, which meant that he had to become a ruby-ranked adventurer a year and three months from now or he would suffer severe attribute consequences.
‘Can I do it?’ Shye wondered.
It was too early for him to give up since he hadn’t even joined a professional adventurer’s guild yet.
‘Maybe there’s a way to blast through the lower ranks?’ he mused.
Shye didn’t dare underestimate the higher ranks, however, if he was strong enough, then there must be a way to quickly go through the lower ranks or well-known super rookie adventurers wouldn’t exist.
After consoling his distressed heart, Shye’s mood improved, allowing him to participate in casual chats with the other representatives inside the carriage.
The return journey was lengthy though so it was inevitable that they would run out of topics to talk about.
Bored, the representatives—including Shye—took a nap.

Two hours later, Shye woke up, stretching his arms and legs inside the spacious carriage as he looked around.
Realizing that everyone was still asleep, he decided to explore his upgraded system.
Follow new episodes on the "N0vel1st.c0m".
‘System.’ thought Shye, prompting the familiar blue screen of the system to appear in front of him.
With the enthusiasm of a kid, he opened the shop and tapped [Talents]
Immediately after, he was greeted by a new interface on the left side of the [Talents] screen.

‘Yo…This is pretty neat…Oh? Unique and Epic talents are now accessible!’ inwardly enthused Shye as he tapped on the [Unique] button on the new interface.
When the system was still level 2, he had no choice but to scroll through thousands of talents before arriving at the rare section; now, with just a single tap, the new [Unique] talents were already on display.
Not only did the level 3 system offer new benefits but it also made the system more convenient to use.

After reading the effects of the first two unique talents, Shye’s eyes opened wide—his mouth—agape.
‘W-What the hell are these talents?! If people were born with such ridiculously overpowered talents, wouldn’t they be already set up for success?!’ inwardly complained Shye with a shocked expression. ‘If unique talents were already this powerful then…’
Glancing at the [Epic] button, Shye moved his shaking fingers to check a few samples of [Epic] talents.
Unfortunately, the carriage came to an abrupt halt, waking everyone up inside Shye’s carriage.
‘Well, I still have lots of time to explore in the future, no rush…’ he thought, promptly closing the system right after.
The sudden stop wasn’t anything new to the students and if anything, these stops were something most of them were eagerly waiting for—camping and dinner time.
This was how every other day went for the Colzen convoy after all.
Following a satisfying meal and a good night’s sleep, their majestic white horses were fully rested, enabling them to resume their journey.
As the proud morning sun watched over everything, their convoy victoriously marched back home, sometimes passing through rocky terrains—other times—through well-built marble roads.
However, there were a few times they had to traverse dangerous adventurer zones.
It can’t be helped, there was no other way after all.
The convoy had two former diamond-ranked adventurer deans and a few strong instructors like Instructor Fienna so moving through such zones wasn’t a problem.
Just like this, three weeks quickly passed.
Currently, the Grand Colzen convoy had already covered more than half the distance back to Colzen City.
Suddenly, their carriages stopped. Looking out the window, Shye was confused.
They were currently passing through a pathway inside an adventurer zone called Orze Advanced Adventurer Zone.
It was a necessity for them to pass through this area and they’d already done so before, however, they’d never once stopped inside to rest, hence, Shye’s puzzlement at the abrupt halt.
In the next moment, grating chuckles and voices with mocking tones echoed from different directions.
“Hahaha, a bunch of talented young prospects not even making it back home. What a shame.”
“You all flaunted too much! If only you grasped the concept of ‘keeping it low-key,’ perhaps you’d have lived longer!”
