Chapter 288: Shye’s Point Extraction Plan
“Boss! Stop playing around!” Seira exclaimed in a frustrated manner, prompting the surrounding onlookers to laugh at her in utter disdain and amusement.
No one believed that she was a mere underling.
In their eyes, she was somewhat of an underling with benefits, hence, her frustrated countenance satisfied the sexually unsatisfied and single adventurers.
Witnessing Shye losing in front of Seira, who thought that he was invincible, was truly satisfying for them.
Little did they know, Shye has truly been playing too much because based on his experience, a comeback win always netted him the most points.
After dodging around—appearing suppressed in front of the onlookers, Shye decided that it was time for him to show off.
Swiftly aiming his elemental staff towards Farhann, another fierce arrow came flying his way, causing the wind to part aggressively and thunder to roar in the training hall.
Shockingly for the onlookers, Shye didn’t dodge this time. Heck, he didn’t even chant before a scorching ball of flame materialized out of thin air in front of his elemental staff, ferociously hurtling towards the shocked Farhann shortly after.
*FWOOSH*
As the modest-sized flaming ball roared, the lightning-infused mana arrow was easily blown away.
If not for Farhann’s swift reaction time which allowed him to quickly use one of his escape skills, [Swallow Step Lv.4], he would’ve burned to ashes.
Watching the ferocious fireball narrowly blaze past him, Farhann broke out in a cold sweat.
That sh*t was way too close.
Well, it wasn’t only him who was lucky. If not for the emerald-ranked priestess, Vera, the onlookers wouldn’t be able to watch the battle this close.
Due to the huge dome-like barrier she unleashed, the projectiles had a low chance of wreaking havoc in the training hall.
Perhaps she was sent here by the guild master himself to minimize property damage.
“Y-You! How did you do that?!” Farhann exclaimed, his heart still racing after a narrow brush with death.
“Hahahaha! Do what? Find it out for yourself, idiot!” Shye retorted.
This time, he didn’t hold back, firing spells one after the other, causing utter chaos as myriad elements roared simultaneously, creating a loud cacophony that assaulted the onlookers’ eardrums.
‘F*ck! F*ck! F*ck!!!’ Farhann inwardly cursed as he tried his hardest to dodge every projectile that was coming for his life.
His body was nowhere near as tough as a warrior’s and he was sure that he would perish should he allow one to hit him squarely.
Therefore, Farhann desperately sprinted, rolled, leaped, and sidestepped to narrowly evade the projectiles, though a few still managed to inflict shallow cuts across his body.
“I-I can’t believe it! This rookie!” One of the emerald-ranked adventurers, Axel, suddenly exclaimed, prompting heads with confused expressions to turn his way.
All of them realized that Shye Crowley, the arrogant ashen-haired rookie, was firing spells without chanting, however, they didn’t know how he was doing it.
“This man is indeed very talented as a mage, no, he was in fact born to be a mage!” The scout class emerald-ranked adventurer, Kai, added.
Just when the height of everyone’s curiosity reached the peak, Axel finally explained what he thought was “happening”.
“To be born with a [Epic]-tier talent called Chantless casting…This guy is definitely one blessed by the Gods and Goddesses!”
“Then…earlier…” A random onlooker said.
“Yes, he was simply toying with his opponent…”

After such a revelation, the guildsmen were stupefied for a few seconds before…
[Congratulations! You’ve earned 2,390 points!]
Seeing the familiar notification and the number of points he earned, a smile emerged on Shye’s face as he continued bombarding Farhann with various spells.
With the exception of around thirteen individuals, Shye managed to impress everyone.
He also heard Axel’s explanation and he couldn’t help but chuckle.
It seemed that the system’s instant skill cast was equivalent to an [Epic] tier talent called [Chantless Casting], nearly causing him to burst out laughing with sheer delight.
‘Well, who would’ve known that the old man would gift me with an [Epic]-tier talent?’ Shye mused as he continued firing spells, one after another, rather impressed that his opponent was still hanging on, albeit barely.
“Hoh? You’ve got some slick moves. What an impressive true-blooded housefly. When will you shoot back though? You won’t win by buzzing around like this.” Shye insulted, causing Farhann to fiercely gnash his teeth in anger.
Indeed, he wouldn’t win like this. He had to take his chances.
Unfortunately for him, before he could even “take a chance” on things, a second elemental staff appeared on Shye’s left hand, causing the onlookers’ eyes, including those of the emeralds, to almost pop out of their sockets—a thought resonating in their minds:
‘What is he planning to do?!’
Well, isn’t it obvious? He was planning to fire spells from both elemental staffs!
“Now then, little fly. Let’s see if you can still dodge.”
Shye’s plan was to gradually build up excitement and dazzle people by slowly unveiling his true prowess to them, multiplying his point earnings by repeatedly impressing the onlookers.
As long as he ensured that each subsequent display was “more shocking” than the last, he was certain to accumulate points from them multiple times within a single fight.
In accordance with his plan, Shye didn’t immediately use his [Uncommon] tier skills, opting to fire basic spells at a faster rate first.
Naturally, now that he was shooting spells faster, the desperate Farhann was hit more often, and the slightly shallow cuts and burns turned moderate.
The redhead fly’s slick maneuvers didn’t work too well this time.
[Congratulations! You’ve earned 2395 points!]
Realizing that his plan to repeatedly extract points was effective, Shye inwardly celebrated, ready to end things in the next few seconds.
Well, it wasn’t only him who was ready as Farhann, fully knowing that he was about to lose, forcefully stopped his forward momentum and aimed his shortbow toward Shye.
His eyes reflected his fierce resolve to win the duel.
“I’m done playing your games! Eat this!!”
