“Thank you for your efforts, Miss Shauna. I’ll be taking my leave.”

“Goodbye, Sir Crowley.”

After successfully redeeming his quest rewards from Shauna, Shye walked towards the branch headquarters’ exit.

Since he finished the goblin village quest a week and a half earlier than expected, he figured that this would be the best time to write letters to Maia and his friends, visit Shirley in Nookbury City, and order twin greatswords from Meido.

Before the goblin village quest completion, he still needed 1,800 guild contribution points to rank up which would require him to complete at least two more quests before he could rank up to platinum.

Had the goblin village quest not been unexpectedly difficult, he wouldn’t have been able to rank up instantly and accumulate a hundred thousand silver coins to request a weapon from Meido.

Instead, he would have had to undertake two more quests, leaving him with no free time to visit Shirley.

Truly, dangers and opportunities go hand in hand.

Reaching the exit of the branch headquarters, Shye was met by a panting young woman with grape-colored hair.

She appeared exhausted, resembling a child who had been running back and forth and was now tired from overexerting herself.

“B-Boss! The skills you gave me were amazing! It’s like you can read minds! They’re simply perfect for my fighting style!” Seira enthusiastically explained, capturing the attention of the guildsmen who were chilling near the exit. “Especially the uncom–!”

“Shh! Don’t tell everybody! Anyway, I’m glad you like them.” Shye replied, quickly covering Seira’s mouth to prevent her from adding to the misconception that they were friends with benefits.

“MMPMPHH!!”

Shye waited for her to stop blabbering before letting go.

“I understand, boss! I will not speak of such matters in the future!”

“Alright. Well then, I need to head to Kossin City to upgrade my weapons. I’ll likely be away for three weeks to a month, so feel free to do as you please during that time. You can take on solo quests or whatever you prefer.”

“Oh, I see. Perfect timing! I wanted to train and level up my skills. Maybe take one solo quest to put them to the test.”

“That’s good, well then, see you.”

“See you next month, boss!”

After a short conversation with Seira, Shye left, deciding to have a meal in a newly opened seafood restaurant close to the city square.

Although its location was a bit far, Shye thought that he at least deserved to relax today after a job well done, thus, he made a special effort to visit the restaurant and sample its food.

On the way, Shye hummed a jolly tune, enjoying the perfect mix of warm sunlight and cold winds as he strolled through the well-built, smooth, and wide marble streets of Balkrow City.

His stomach growled in protest as the savory smell of roasted meat from a restaurant he passed through assaulted his olfactory senses.

‘No, resist the temptation, Shye Crowley! Weren’t we going to eat seafood today?!’

The roasted meat’s assault was simply too fierce!

However, in the end, his love for seafood won, allowing him to resist the demonic whispers of roasted pig meat.

After the fierce internal battle was decided, Shye continued walking, stumbling upon an enormous holographic board hovering near the middle of the city square.

With his interest piqued, Shye walked closer to the ranking board.

‘Hoh? Rankings?’ He mused, slightly squinting his eyes as he enthusiastically started to read the board’s contents.
