Chapter 321: Ady and Mithy
‘Huff…Huff…F*ck! F*ck! Is it still chasing me?!’
One moment, Shye was celebrating an easy victory against an apex (B-) ranked creature; the next, he found himself frantically fleeing for his life.
He was about to harvest the sellable goods from the ape’s corpse when suddenly, he sensed a spine-tingling sensation from behind him.
Promptly after, he made a mad dash towards the direction opposite to where he felt the dangerous sensation, only to come face to face with the monster itself who smiled creepily at him as though mocking him: “Hahaha, you fell for my trap, idiot. Now, you’re mine.”
What he came face to face with was a huge green bug standing on two muscular legs with feet that only had two fingers as sharp as claws.
In the place of its two hands were sharp scythes that could easily split his body in half while in its back were three pairs of dragonfly wings.
The creature didn’t look as unsettling as the ape, however, Shye’s internal alarm bells told him that the creature was way more dangerous than the ape.
Subconsciously, he swung both of its greatswords in a diagonal slashing motion, only for it to be cleanly blocked by the bug using its scythes.
Shortly afterward, Shye experienced intense abdominal pain as the creature’s foot claws sank moderately into his body during a ferocious kick, sending him hurtling through the air.
If not for his tough body, he would’ve probably suffered a grievous injury.
Since he was able to at least take the kick without losing consciousness, Shye was able to use the strong momentum to his advantage, allowing him to disappear from the darned creature’s line of sight with a single strong flap of his black, rotten mana wings.
Naturally, the creature didn’t give up so easily, attempting to chase him for two whole minutes before Shye was able to successfully shake it off with a combination of every repositioning skill in his arsenal and various emergency powders to prevent the terrifying bug from easily tracking him.
He would have rather faced being devoured by anything other than those cursed insect mandibles.
Regrettably, Shye couldn’t even afford the luxury of using appraisal to identify the bug creature’s name.
Nonetheless, he was certain it was an apex (B) ranked creature, judging from the spine-tingling sensation it evoked—a sensation less intense than that of the (A-) ranked ember wyvern but far surpassing that of the Titanium Demon Ape.
Shye didn’t dare slack off, continuing to madly run for his life for fifteen whole minutes before momentarily stopping to look back.
Upon realizing that the spine-chilling sensation of danger was gone, Shye breathed a sigh of relief—his heart still racing wildly.
Had it not been for the Titanium Demon Ape’s corpse, which the bug creature could consume, it likely wouldn’t have given up on chasing him so easily.
After that specific incident, Shye temporarily avoided potentially dangerous places like the hollow rainforest, opting to heed the map’s warning regarding perilous zones within the Derke Advanced Adventurer Zone.
For the next two days, Shye continuously hunted inside the mentioned adventurer zone, primarily targeting (C-) to (B-) ranked creatures, allowing him to earn 6,300 points in two days.
…
“Who’s next?” Meido’s familiar voice sounded, prompting the people in the queue to stand up with excited looks on their faces.
It had been three days since Meido accepted an order, and many among them pointed fingers at the troublesome ashen-haired young man who had jumped the queue and somehow been chosen by Meido.
What other reason could there be for her staying confined within her smithy, if not to fulfill the young man’s order?
This specific young man!
“Me!”
“Oh? Crowley! Welcome. I’m done with your order, come, I’ll show you.”
*BANG!*
This time, it was Shye who slammed the door shut, further enraging the adventurers outside Meido’s shop.
As the two of them walked towards the smithing area, the young blacksmith suddenly spoke:

“Well, I thought I should let you know. As promised I was able to craft a high-quality mithril-tier greatsword for you. However…the other one…”
Hearing Meido’s sudden words, Shye felt anxious.
He was elated to finally have an expelvoid mithril-tier greatsword.
However, if Meido happened to fail in crafting the other greatsword, it would be a significant setback for him, enough to overshadow the joy brought by the mithril-tier one.
Hopefully, he could at least retrieve the high-grade inferno stone.
Shye knew that there was a chance that blacksmiths would fail in creating a high-tier weapon, especially when the crafting material wasn’t an ore but something harvested from a monstrous creature.
Nonetheless, experiencing it for himself was rather disheartening.
“W-What happened to the other one? Did you fail?” Shye asked with a racing heart and a worried expression.
“Huh? What are you talking about? Are you still half asleep? Me? Fail? Stop dreaming. The other greatsword ended up as a low-quality adamantite-tier greatsword with a high-grade inferno stone enchantment.”
*BOOM!*
Hearing Meido’s words, Shye suddenly felt his head spinning, confused whether what he heard was real or not.
“D-D-Did you just say adamantite-tier? Did I hear correctly?”
“Yes, I said adamantite-tier. I advise you to clean your ears regularly as it would help you hear things better.”
“B-But why did you use the inferno stone to enchant the adamantite-tier instead of the expelvoid gemstone?”
“Huh? Didn’t you ask me to use the expelvoid gemstone on the mithril-tier greatsword? That’s why I used the inferno gemstone on the adamantite-tier one.”
Recalling his instructions four days ago, Shye couldn’t help but slap his forehead.
Well, he couldn’t really blame himself, after all, how could he have expected that the young blacksmith would overdeliver?
“Do you remember now?”
“Yeah, I remember now. Still, I can’t believe you managed to craft an adamantite-tier greatsword from a below-average quality prime dragon scale!”
“Heh, who do you think I am? I’m a future legend smith!”
“Hahaha! I do believe you. Oh, by the way, have you named them?”
“Hmmph! Of course, they can be considered my children, after all. The adamantite-tier greatsword is called Ady while the mithril-tier one is called Mithy!”
“…”
