Chapter 322: Sword Realm
“The heck do you mean by Ady and Mithy?! I’ll do the poor greatswords a favor and call them Adamance and Mithra!” Shye muttered complainingly to himself as he strolled along the streets of Kossin City after a very successful transaction.
Except for the diabolical names, everything about the greatswords was perfect, making Shye feel extremely lucky that he was able to enter into a partnership deal with Meido.
‘Speaking of partnership…Isn’t the Meido brand logo carved in the body of my greatswords way too big?!’ Shye once again complained.
Unfortunately, he could only complain to himself as he wouldn’t even have the chance to ask the young, talented blacksmith to craft anything for him if not for their partnership that comes with a huge 40% discount.
‘Well, it shouldn’t affect the performance of the greatswords so…it’s fine, I guess…’
After a few more minutes of walking, a sudden burst of appreciation for Meido shrouded his little heart.
‘Now, I should do my part and bring more high-quality customers to her…’
Upon seeing the long line of customers in front of Meido’s shop, one would think that her business was doing great.
However, the truth was, even after placing second in the blacksmith competition, her shop could be considered doing good at best.
It wasn’t going “great” at all as most of the adventurers in the long queue were ranked silver to platinum.
Although there were a few ruby and emerald-ranked adventurers in the queue, there weren’t any diamond-ranked or higher which simply meant that the high-ranked adventurers didn’t believe that she would do a good job when it came to crafting higher-ranked weapons and armor using higher-ranked materials.
The theme of the blacksmith competition finals was a high-grade relic of only the steel tier, after all.
Naturally, since Meido was quite young, the high-ranked adventurers were finding it hard to risk their hard-earned materials on a young and unproven blacksmith.
In their minds, the older the blacksmith was, the more experienced he/she would be when it came to handling higher-ranked and rarer crafting materials.
Nonetheless, if he could rise to prominence and prove to them that Meido brand equipment could take one to the pinnacle of adventurers, then they would surely come rushing to her door.
For now, she had to make do with the low-ranked clients.
Arriving at the city gates, he suddenly remembered something which made him don a mocking smile.
Pausing briefly, Shye withdrew Mithra, one of his newly acquired Meido brand greatswords, and fetched a sword strap from the system’s inventory. With pride, he affixed Mithra onto his back, prominently displaying the sizable Meido brand emblem at its center.
He then proceeded to exit the city gates while looking straight at the loathsome city guard’s eyes.
“Oh? Hahahaha! I remember you, boy. Didn’t I tell you that you wouldn’t achieve anything? You wasted four d–?!”
“Huh? If you still can’t see such a huge Meido brand emblem on my newly crafted greatsword, then I advise you to resign from your position! You would probably mistake a criminal for a regular adventurer!” Shye mocked before swiftly leaving the city, not waiting for the guard’s reply.
As a result, the guard became so angry that he wanted to challenge Shye to a duel.
Unfortunately, Shye was already too far, and he couldn’t leave his post.
Hence, he had no choice but to swallow his anger, leaving him frustrated and ill-tempered for three days after being humiliated by an arrogant young adventurer.
As for Shye, he was in one of the greatest moods he ever had in his life.
After all, not only did he manage to visit and have a lot of good s*x with his girlfriend but he also managed to earn a lot of points in the process.
In addition to this, he obtained Adamance and Mithra. Pissing the loathsome guard off was also a good bonus.
‘What a successful trip this has been…’ Shye inwardly thought, pleased about the results of his trip.
Now, all he had to do was walk towards Joltren City, the nearest city with a teleporter, and teleport back to Utenburg City—another teleporter-equipped city merely two days’ travel from Balkrow.
Only, exiting Meido’s blacksmith shop with a huge smile on one’s face was bound to attract unwanted attention.

From who?
Robbers, of course!
As Shye arrived at a less-frequented path in the middle of an intermediate adventurer zone, an area he needed to pass through to arrive faster at Joltren City, grating chuckles echoed from the shadows of mature spruce trees.
Soon after, human silhouettes emerged one by one, prompting Shye to furrow his brows in annoyance.
‘Tch…I should’ve known that there would always be a few idiots in that long queue of adventurers…’ Shye thought, not the least bit intimidated by the clowns who dared assassinate him.
“Heh, you should’ve been a good boy and queued at the back of the line!” An unfamiliar middle-aged adventurer with medium-length black hair tied up in a bun and scholarly physique said.
“No way. Why would I do that when I have order priority? Please use your brain…Well, if you have one.” Shye retorted, appraising all seven assassins as his mouth fought a verbal battle with the assassins’ leader.
Shortly after, Shye couldn’t help but burst out into laughter, bringing anger to the middle-aged man’s heart.
“Heh, let’s see if you can still laugh after we slit your throat, kid.”
Shye couldn’t care less about the middle-aged man’s idiotic threat.
‘Five adventurers of platinum rank, comprising two archers, three mages, and two adventurers of ruby rank—a warrior and a scout…’ Shye thought to himself as he eyed the assassins with disdain. ‘These prancing clowns will serve as great targets for my new unique skill…’
“Go, kill him.”
Upon hearing their leader’s command, the ruby-ranked warrior immediately charged toward Shye while the leader, the ruby-ranked scout, circled Shye to look for an opportune time to strike.
As for the mages and the archers, they started firing away.
Had Shye been a regular platinum-ranked adventurer, he would’ve surely perished.
Unfortunately for the assassins, he was as far as one can get from words like “standard” and “regular”.
‘Sword Realm.’
Promptly after Shye thought of his new unique-tier skill’s name, a purple canvas materialized beneath his feet, swiftly expanding at the speed of sound to envelop him and the assassins, forming a small purple world around them.
Subsequently, black silhouettes representing various types of swords began to appear one by one, totaling 439 in number, before slowly rotating above them.
The assassins’ nightmare didn’t stop there, in fact, it only began as a pair of black, rotten mana wings emerged from Shye’s back, followed by a blood-curdling howl of a myriad of tones and voices, sending chills down the assassins’ spines.
“B-Boss Gadon! I can’t use my mana!”
“M-Me too! I can’t fire a single mana arrow!”
“Sh*t! Me too!”
Hearing his underlings’ panic-stricken voices, Gadon broke out in a cold sweat.
As a scout, he had a few skills that utilize mana as a catalyst, however, when he tried using those skills, he wasn’t able to activate even a single one.
“Y-You bastard! What did you do?!”
“Nothing, just setting the tone for when I murder all of you like the helpless little lambs you are.”
Indeed, the assassins’ were now like helpless little lambs as Shye’s unique-tier skill not only disabled mana-activated skills but also enhanced all attributes of those holding a sword—meaning him and the other ruby-ranked warrior, who was the assassins’ best hope of taking him down.
In addition to this, the attributes of everyone who doesn’t have a sword in his/her hands were reduced by a sizable 30 percent.
With a single flap of his rotten wings, Shye appeared in front of Gadon, stunning him with his skill, [Draconian Roar Lv.3], before decapitating his head—all in one swift motion.
Witnessing their leader’s terrifying final moments when his headless body twitched lifelessly on the ground, the morale of the remaining assassins finally collapsed.
The mages screamed in terror as they used their staff like baseball bats, attempting to hit the purple canvas in hopes of escaping the darned realm.
On the other hand, one of the archers sat in despair, clutching his head like a lunatic while the other charged at Shye, stabbing at him with a laughable skinning knife.
As for the ruby-ranked warrior, he tried fighting the ashen-haired young man head-on.
He also benefited from the buffs of the sword realm, unfortunately, his attributes were way too low compared to Shye.
In just a single clash, Adamance and Mithra slashed the ruby-ranked warrior’s falchion in half along with his body.
Naturally, once the warrior was dead, everyone was just easy pickings.
Shye killed the fragile archer who dared charge at him with a skinning knife by temporarily returning Mithra to the inventory before and slapping the shit out of the idiotic ranged adventurer.
He then watched the remaining four go insane with fear, not noticing a creepy smile emerging from the corners of his mouth as he did so, before separating their heads from their bodies.
As their headless corpses plopped to the ground, Shye deactivated the sword realm.
Looting all of the bodies for a total of 43,000 silver coins before equipping the high-grade ruby-tier elemental staff relic he got from Soaring Raven and burning each corpse to ashes.
He didn’t even make much effort to clean up the crime scene.
After all, he recorded everything in a recording crystal, hence, he had proof that he was only defending himself from assassins.
Moreover, he would be long gone before someone could even notice the unusual amount of ashes on the ground.
With an eerily satisfied smile, Shye left the area and continued on his journey toward Balkrow.
