Chapter 480: Dungeon Lord Appears
‘Hoh…You’ve finally shown yourself, dungeon lord…’ Shye inwardly thought as he stared at the tall but rather scrawny monstrous creature.
It looked like what people called “a witch” from story books.
Standing at three and a half meters tall, the monstrous creature possessed pale gray skin, mismatched eyes, a large pointed nose, and an unnervingly wide mouth.
Additionally, its thin, long, yet toned arms gripped a seemingly ancient wooden staff, serving as its weapon.
Its unnaturally lengthy legs were draped in a ragged silk cloth that, despite appearing barely protective at first glance, was actually high-tier equipment providing a significant boost to the lord’s abilities.
‘Appraisal!’

‘Hmm…A variant dark troll, huh?’
From what Shye knew, trolls were tall and muscular.
Hence, this specific dungeon lord indeed looked a bit strange for a dark troll.
Still, despite not having a huge hulking physique, for Shye, its appearance was way more unnerving.

Especially now that he realized the eerie creature possessed higher intelligence and wisdom attributes than he did.
Moreover, from what he knew, all species of trolls had absurd regeneration rates, making it impossible to whittle their hit points down.
They must be slain in as few attacks as possible.
As Shye strategized on how to fight the two generals and the lord, a sudden sharp noise sounded from the entrance, prompting Shye to glance in its direction.
‘Tch, so escape is not an option…this damned witch got me…’
For the first time in a long while, Shye was reminded of what it was like to fall for the trap of a monstrous creature with a higher intelligence attribute than him.
Only, this time, unlike his experience with the Mist Arachne, the sinister hag had three of the essential elements of combat on her side.
It commanded the Bone Wyrm, a strong and resilient underling capable of fighting Shye head-on; the swift and cunning Dark Lycan, adept at ambushing him from the shadows; and finally, the sinister hag herself, who possessed a variety of buff skills and long-range offensive spells.
Such a balanced line-up would surely be a nightmare to deal with, even for Shye.
He also knew this and that’s why he was feeling the pressure of his current predicament.
However, just when his heart was starting to welcome the sensations of fear and panic, a notification he had never seen before appeared in front of him with a *DING!*
[Your trait: [Unfazed Heart], has activated!]
Soon after, a warm sensation coursed through his body, lingering for a while around his chest before dissipating along with his fear and anxiety.
He was now eerily calm despite facing such a perilous situation.
‘Wait…why is the dungeon ranked A- when the lord’s rank is A? Did the WAA mess up?’
Indeed they did!
Immediately after sensing that something was wrong with the sinister hag’s appearance, Logan left his office and rushed off to Gavin’s to report a potential mishap.
The two of them then headed to Belford’s office to report that Shye had been caught by a clever trap devised by the dark troll sorceress, who now appeared to have evolved into a variant.
“SH*T!! IS THE KID ALREADY DEAD?!”
…
Rushing back to Logan’s office, the three of them breathed a sigh of relief upon realizing that Shye was still alive, wisely using the Bone Wyrm’s enormous body to his advantage by using it to block the sinister hag’s offensive spells.
As a result, the wyrm’s tough body was now battered and bruised, with the Dark Lycan gnashing its teeth in frustration since it couldn’t even find a way to help its mindless comrade.
“Hahahaha! You cowardly mutt, when will you find the courage to help your comrade?!” Shye mocked as he dodged another fierce attack from the Bone Wyrm.
Naturally, the Dark Lycan understood that it was being insulted, however, it still didn’t dare fight Shye head-on, sticking to the role assigned to it by its lord.
It believed that the optimal time for it to strike would always come.
It just had to be patient.
Its lord, the sinister hag, already lost patience, though, and used one of its ultimate skills, [Summon Sinister Abomination], to make surviving exponentially difficult for Shye.
*HOWL!*
A massive mana core with a powerful gravitational pull emerged before the Dark Troll Sorceress, drawing in soil, bones, and bits of rotten flesh from the dungeon walls.
These coalesced into a ten-meter-tall, one-eyed giant creature with a fat belly and an enormous butcher’s knife.
Its mere appearance would bring most adventurers to their knees in utter fear, and Shye would’ve been no different.
[You’ve been inflicted with a stack of [Fear]!]
[Your trait, [Unfazed Heart], has successfully removed one stack of [Fear]!]

If not for his new trait, Shye’s heart would surely tremble in horror upon hearing the abomination’s unnerving howl, which sounded like a blend of an old man’s death rattle and a female child’s laughter.
This fear could have given the Bone Wyrm a free hit, potentially resulting in a severe injury or, worse, his death.
…Barely dodging the dumbass wyrm’s attack, Shye had the urge to finish it off as it would be very difficult for him to deal with two creatures of such enormous sizes.
‘F*ck…I might be in a dangerous situation…’
