Chapter 481: Nowhere To Run
Sweat trickled down the sides of Shye’s head as he gripped the handles of his greatswords tighter and looked warily at the two generals, the summoned abomination, and the sinister hag.
Since he had never experienced defeat, Shye confidently looked for the generals and the lord, even planning on taking them on together if he got the chance.
Only, he seemed to have overestimated his strength and underestimated that of his targets as now that he actually stood face-to-face with three of them along with the summoned abomination, Shye realized that winning wouldn’t be as easy as he initially thought.
Heck, he wasn’t even sure if he could survive, let alone win easily.
For the first time in his life, Shye seemingly bit off slightly more than he could chew.
Well, he was a confident young man so this was bound to happen sooner or later.
The situation wasn’t out of hand, though, and if he played his cards right and fought immaculately, he had a fair chance of turning things around.
This was a scenario where a true dragon would rise and a false one would fall.
Now, Shye had to grit his teeth and soar to the skies, otherwise he would rest here eternally.
…Meanwhile, back at the observation office, Logan, Gavin, and Belford were inwardly praying to the Gods for Shye’s safety.
Since they don’t know Shye’s capability that much, the three of them couldn’t help but worry despite having records of Shye taking down an Ember Wyvern.
Valenzia simply had no history of young adventurers having success in dealing with a group of (A) and (A-) ranked monsters.
As for Shye, a great idea finally popped up in his mind.
However, he had to execute it perfectly, otherwise, he would find himself in the middle of three dangerous creatures.
Hiding behind the Bone Wyrm as he masterfully dodged its relatively slow yet destructive attacks, Shye coldly gazed at the sinister hag.
His eyes then narrowed upon seeing that it was casting totems here and there, tremendously boosting its underlings’ strength and recovery rate.
In addition to this, it also summoned an enormous pillar that continuously summoned zombies.
Realizing that things would only get harder and harder as time went by, Shye stopped hesitating and decided to execute his plan, dashing out of the Bone Wyrm’s cover and charging straight onto the totems, seemingly having the intention of destroying them.
The sinister hag was naturally happy to see such developments.
Although the totems were helpful, supportive summons, they also served as tough and effective decoys.
Positioned at the center of the room, the totems provided it and its underlings with an excellent opportunity to launch attacks.
Only, the Dark Troll Sorceress didn’t expect that Shye’s target wasn’t the totems but their owner.
Thus, it was taken by surprise when Shye suddenly reappeared beneath it, a cold smile on his face.
‘Sword Realm!’
A purple realm filled with black swords suddenly materialized beneath Shye, extending just far enough to envelop only him and the sinister hag, while leaving its generals outside.
Shortly after, when the Dark Troll Sorceress realized it couldn’t use mana to protect itself, fear and panic began to creep into its heart.
It was used to fighting alongside its generals. Furthermore, it wasn’t skilled in melee combat.
Hence, facing the powerful invader while having no other option but to whack it with its ancient wooden staff, the sinister hag screeched in a specific pattern, seemingly calling for help.
Of course, its generals and the summoned Abomination immediately responded by hitting the purple wall from the outside, hoping to destroy it and aid their lord in battle.
Shye knew that his Sword Realm wouldn’t last long under the focused attack of the generals.

In fact, it was already starting to crack, mostly due to the damned brutish Bone Wyrm.
Wasting no time, Shye dashed towards the panicking hag, who tried to smash him with its ancient wooden staff.
Unfortunately for it, its evidently unpracticed melee combat skills were all too easy for Shye to evade.
Then, upon reaching striking distance, he activated his new skill, [Nightfall Reaper].
This enveloped the edges of both his greatswords in a crimson glow, boosted his strength attribute by 200 percent, significantly enhanced his weapon’s cutting power, and doubled his agility attribute.
Due to the now overwhelming gap in physical attributes, the sinister hag couldn’t even follow Shye’s diagonal movements with its eyes, losing him every time he repositioned to get a better angle at its neck.
It tried one last desperate attack by brandishing its enormous wooden staff horizontally, hoping to somehow catch Shye.
Unfortunately, how could such a slow and clumsy melee attack hit Shye, who was forged in the fires of head-to-head combat against even the toughest and strongest of monstrous creatures?
Before the Dark Troll Sorceress even realized what had happened, Shye was already behind it, posturing as though he had just completed a slashing motion.
Indeed, he had already done so, for almost simultaneously with the destruction of the sword realm, the sinister hag’s head rolled to the ground, its body slowly going limp and twitching lifelessly.
Witnessing the scene, the generals roared in anger.
The sinister hag had been like a mother to them, hence, its death filled their hearts with not only anger but also regret and sadness.
Shye expected the summoned abomination to disappear, yet, somehow, it was still howling at him in utter fury despite the death of its summoner.
He had no such luxury to worry about such things, though, as his mind immediately alerted him that a certain scaredy mutt would run away again should he allow it to do so.
Thus, promptly after realizing that he should make his move, Shye charged at the angry Dark Lycan.
The black-furred creature was the one with the sharpest survival instinct amongst the four generals, hence, upon noticing that Shye was charging straight at it, its anger dissipated like smoke.
It then tried to run as fast as it could.
Everyone in the room forgot one important fact, though. It was that the room was still blocked by a mana barrier that seemingly wouldn’t dissipate anytime soon.
In response, the Dark Lycan abruptly stopped in front of the entrance and punched the walls in utter frustration.
“Hahahaha! You darned cowardly dog! Where will you run now? Did you think I was trapped in here with you? No, you’re trapped in here with me!”
