Now that Shye had more or less figured out the combat styles of the three remaining monstrous creatures, he grew confident enough to fight all three of them head-on, though he could only fight two at once as the Dark Lycan was hiding somewhere in the shadows.

‘Oh? Right…what if I…’

Having another sudden epiphany, Shye eagerly activated his mana pulse.

Shortly after, as the first pulse scanned the room, a shadow of a smile emerged on the corners of Shye’s face.

The Dark Lycan naturally saw it, however, it never once thought that it was detected as the mana pulses were only visible to the caster, and only high-ranked creatures with exceptional perception would be able to sense it.

As a result, although it was wary of what Shye might do, it still went on with its plan of attacking from the back at the perfect moment.

Unfortunately for the Lycan, Shye was one step ahead in his schemes, deliberately turning his back to lure the creature into attacking.

Naturally, with a golden opportunity right in front of it, how could the Dark Lycan not pounce?

Boosting its claws’ sharpness by using its skill, [Lunar Claws Lv.5], the Lycan executed its killing sequence, activating its [Unique]-tier ultimate skill, [Spatial Ambush], in hopes of finishing Shye off in a single attack.

It then pounced out of a spatial pocket from behind Shye, stabbing its claws straight at the back of Shye’s head to destroy his skull and brain.

Unfortunately for the Dark Lycan, Shye was waiting for this moment.

Suddenly turning around, a mighty roar resembling those of dragons came out of Shye’s mouth, cleanly assaulting the Dark Lycan and petrifying it in place.

“Hahahaha! Who knew that you’d be the first to go, sneaky mutt?” Shye mocked, however, the horrified Lycan wasn’t even in the right state of mind to understand his words. “Die!”

Shye was about to kill it, but then, he remembered that he vowed to slap the sh*t out of the annoying mutt.

Hence, instead of slicing its head clean off, Shye rotated his greatswords to make sure that the flat part of the weapon would hit the petrified Dark Lycan’s face.

‘Power Slash! Boost! Boost! Boost!’

*CLANG!* *CRACK!*

The satisfying yet nauseating sound of metal making contact with a skull followed by a loud crack echoed across the room full of treasures, prompting both monstrous creatures to roar in anger upon witnessing the harrowing fate of their comrade.

*BANG!*

The Dark Lycan’s head smashed against the dungeon’s walls, exploding like a watermelon. Its lifeless body slowly slid down, leaving a thick vertical line of blood.

‘Ahh, that was satisfying!’ Shye mused as he slashed his sword once more to clear the blood from its blade. ‘One-star completion achieved…I guess…’

Realizing that he already achieved at least a one-star completion, Shye heaved a sigh of relief, shifting his attention back to the two remaining monstrous creatures—both charging straight towards him in utter fury.

‘Heh, these two dumbasses should be easy work..’

Indeed.

Now that there were no more pesky lurkers, Shye was able to focus on the battered Bone Wyrm, gracefully dodging both of the creatures’ attacks while sneaking in a few of his own and capitalizing on a few cracks on its bony body to surgically destroy it.

Shye didn’t know how to kill the wretched wyrm, but noticing that its injuries weren’t healing, he decided not to worry about it.

As long as he kept on slashing away, it would eventually collapse.

Well, he wasn’t wrong.

However, he didn’t expect that even after an entire hour of destroying pieces of its body, it was still moving—albeit sluggishly.

‘Tch, I underestimated this damned Bone Wyrm…’

He already cut off its head, yet, all it did was make the job harder for him as now, the head moved independently from the body.

It was quite an unnerving sight.

Since dodging its attacks had become a piece of cake, Shye wasn’t particularly bothered, especially with his [Unfazed Heart] trait.

Thus, he continued attacking it for the time being while thinking of a solution.

Multiple times, Shye was tempted to use the two [Epic]-tier skills he was saving for the abomination, who had absurd regeneration rates, to try and kill the wyrm for good.

However, since it had a long cooldown of four hours per use, Shye couldn’t help but hesitate.

After all, even if he used it, it wasn’t a guarantee that he could kill the damned wyrm.

‘Tch, what a pain in the ass…’

He wasn’t sure if killing the lord along with three other generals would earn him a two-star completion since the achievement required killing all four generals.

This uncertainty left Shye feeling a bit annoyed.

Sh*t was already going down in the treasure room, yet, the final general refused to reveal itself? The f*ck was it thinking?

Temporarily putting the matter at the back of its head, Shye took one deep breath, resolving himself to destroy the darned Bone wyrm into small bits and pieces if he needed to.

The first idea he got was that it had a core like the abomination.

However, after another hour of thoroughly destroying its body while masterfully evading the abomination’s attacks, Shye was rather horrified to see literal bits and pieces of the wyrm crawling towards each other to form crude body parts, attacking him once more every time it mustered up enough strength and parts to do so.

‘What the f*ck is this creature?!’ Shye inwardly cursed as he destroyed a small wyrm tail that was about to form. ‘This thing wouldn’t pose a threat for the time being…I should probably focus on killing the abomination first…’

He thought that it would be easier to kill the wyrm as it was already battered and bruised.

Hence, he was quite reluctant to change plans.

However, seeing that the Bone Wyrm was already in bits and pieces, yet, it was still alive, Shye had no choice but to temporarily shift his attention to the summoned abomination.
