Shye wanted to use appraisal.

However, he was quite flabbergasted by the sudden turn of events and his presence of mind slightly wandered off.

Thus, he forgot to do so, and by the time he regained his wits, the man already charged towards him with unbelievable speed, leaving him no time to do so.

Shye knew that these guys were at least of adamantite level.

He had to go all out if he wanted to survive.

‘Power Slash! Boost! Boost! Boost!’

Immediately using all charges of boost along with his trusty [Power Slash], Shye ferociously brandished both greatswords at the charging terrorist.

*CLANG!*

As their swords clashed, the elite terrorist was shocked to find that it was he who was sent flying backwards, only stabilizing his footing after a few seconds.

‘You’ve grown into a fine man, Shye…’

The other elite black-caped terrorist who seemed to be a woman, also couldn’t help but pause slightly upon seeing the results of the clash, charging towards Shye moments later with the intent to help the tall male terrorist who attacked first.

“Mav….Black Wing, circle and attack the target from the back, I shall attack him from the front.” The woman said to the man, reappearing before Shye the next moment.

Hastily raising his arm and angling both greatswords in a cross block, Shye managed to clumsily deflect the woman’s dagger.

However, due to her unexpectedly high strength attribute despite being of the scout class, Shye was sent staggering backwards.

Then, almost simultaneously, the tall man appeared behind him, aiming to knock him out by striking him with the flat part of the man’s tachi.

Just from these exchanges, Shye already knew that both terrorists were stronger than him, and while he could probably manage against one, two was an utterly tall task.

Still, he would never allow himself to be captured that easily.

‘Physical Barrier! Fallen’s Wings! Fallen’s Howl!’

Momentarily stopping the male terrorist’s attack using his lone priest skill, Shye was able to summon his wings and increase his attributes with the howl on time, allowing him to flap his way out of trouble.

Unfortunately, he didn’t even have a moment to catch his breath before noticing that the woman had already appeared beside him, using some sort of movement skill to cling to the chamber’s ceiling.

Before he knew it, a kick was already headed his way.

With his insanely quick reflexes, Shye was able to partially block the woman’s foot before the kick’s force allowed it to slip past his clumsy block, landing at his chest and sending him flying backwards.

‘K-Kuhh…This b*tch…that hurts! Oh, crap! The man!’

Luckily, Shye’s presence of mind didn’t wander off this time.

Hence, with one mighty flap of his wings, he was able to barely evade the man’s neck chop.

If not for the fact that the two were ordered to capture him instead of killing him, Shye knew that he would already be dead by now.

Still, these two are probably as old as his parents so there was no need for him to fret too much about losing to them.

After all, in just three to five years, these two would be no match for him.

If he managed to survive today’s ordeal, that is.

Landing at one of the chamber’s corners, Shye breathed a sigh of relief.

Now, the two terrorists had no choice but to fight him head-on, eliminating the risk of being attacked from behind.

“Ma–…Black Wing, what should we do?”

“We must capture him soon…let’s use the sealing scroll…”

“But didn’t the deputy commander tell us to not use the scroll unless necessary?”

“Well…let’s tell him it was necessary, then! The target was stronger than we thought and if we don’t use the sealing scroll, we won’t be able to make our exit on time. We only have thirty seconds, let’s move!”

Shye knew that the two terrorists in front of him were whispering. However, he couldn’t hear what they were talking about.

Hence, he could only prepare himself by gripping his greatswords tightly and keenly observing their movements.

Unfortunately, unbeknownst to him, the events that were about to unfold were unavoidable, as the sealing scroll in the terrorists’ possession was of legendary grade.

Moreover, his strength was only enough to fend off the two adamantite-ranked terrorists.

Seeing the tall man retrieve an enormous scroll from his inventory, Shye’s eyes narrowed in wariness.

However, it wasn’t the tall man who made a move but the short scout-class woman, catching Shye slightly off-guard.

Leaving a clone beside the tall man, the scout-class terrorist charged toward Shye in a zigzag motion, attempting to confuse him about where the attack would come from.

It was child’s play for Shye to follow her movements, though.

Hence, he easily blocked the woman’s attack by raising one of his greatswords, counter-attacking with the other shortly after.

Unfortunately for him, the woman was no slouch and was able to dodge his greatsword’s stab with pinpoint precision easily.

She then sent Shye flying towards the nearby wall with a kick to the chest.

“Black Wing, now!”

‘Crap!’

Shye immediately realized he was in trouble, however, there was nothing he could do.

The scout-class adventurer was pinning his shoulders tightly to the wall.

“Get the f*ck out of my way, you b*tch!”

“Y-You!! H-How dare you speak to me that way! We’ll talk later!”

“Maverick! Seal him for now!”

*Five seconds of gibberish*

Shye could feel his consciousness being sucked into the scroll—his limbs losing strength.

“Crowley!” The city lord exclaimed worriedly.

Unfortunately, Shye was already being enveloped by the enormous sealing scroll like a mummy, and soon enough, he was completely wrapped.

‘Maverick…? Isn’t that my dad’s name? Also, the woman’s voice…where have I heard it…’

However, before his last bits of consciousness faded, the woman’s voice once more sounded beside him.

“Sleep for now, sweetie. We’re your allies so there’s no need for you to worry. We won’t hurt you.”
