Hearing the old man’s reply, Shye suddenly remembered the weird talent that was on his status window.

The old man didn’t need to do all of this as he was way stronger than the three of them.

Hence, this sincere gesture of asking him to forgive his parents struck a chord in his heart.

After all, if the old man was a true bastard, then he wouldn’t have even thought of doing such a thing.

‘Tch, in the end, I’m still nothing but a young softie, huh?’ Shye mused as his expression softened.

He still didn’t speak about forgiving his parents, however, since he didn’t look as furious as he was before, the Crowley couple took it as a positive sign.

Even if their son couldn’t forgive them today, they at least knew that as long as they worked hard for it, one day, Shye and Maia would forgive them for their idiocy.

“Fine…I’ll believe you, for now, old man. What is this talent I was born with and how does it make me special?”

“Thank you for understanding my plight and for deciding to help, young lad. It’s best if you see for yourself, so I’ll unlock it for you and let you check it out.” The old man said with a slight, walking towards his desk at a corner of the metallic room shortly after.

He then took out an unusual device from a peculiar bag.

‘Hoh, is that the “laptop” thing he mentioned?” Shye mused as observed the foldable rectangular device.

It had lots of windows that resembled the system he was using.

A notification suddenly appeared in front of him, though, shifting his attention away from the old man and his device.

‘Is this damned old man messing with me? I get that an [Epic]-tier talent would take me to the peak of the Valenzia Region but how is this even close enough to be the only one that can save the world?!’ Shye inwardly raged, thinking that the old geezer was bullsh*tting with him again.

However, after reading its description, Shye somehow got an inkling of how this specific talent would help him accomplish the old man’s grand quest.

With the old man’s simple explanation, the gears of Shye’s mind shifted and turned as he thought of the possibilities.

‘Hoh…based on this old man’s words, every human would eventually reach their body’s limits, meaning that no matter how hard they trained, their attributes would be stuck at the same value without ever increasing.’

He then looked at his talent’s description and resumed thinking.

A few moments later, the old man spoke once more.

“I assume that you already understand why you’re the only one I could turn to for help.”

Hearing Shye’s words, Sanada clenched his fists hard.

“In the meantime, I ask you to advance your career, become as strong as you can be, and save up as many points as possible before the final battle with that bastard, Dweezel.”
