Chapter 530: Colzen Reunion (2)
Inside a specific restaurant, bathed in the warm, golden glow of luxurious chandeliers, twenty-six people sat cheerfully at a wide blackwood table, chatting merrily while awaiting their meal.
“What?! Why didn’t we hear about your victory as Valenzia’s Rookie Champion?” Dean Snowcrest exclaimed, bewildered and slightly disappointed.
They made a concerted effort to stay informed about Shye’s achievements.
Yet, they somehow missed lots of important news.
“Ahh… Well, I’ve been told that the Colzen convoy had already departed by the time I arrived in Valenzia last year, so perhaps that’s why you missed it…”
As the dean was about to respond, the subtle yet mouthwatering aroma of various seafood dishes filled the air, enticing everyone’s senses and causing some representatives’ stomachs to growl in protest.
“W-Well then, let’s eat first.”
The people of Colzen Academy had endured a long day, leaving everyone, including the deans and instructors, feeling famished.
Given that Shye mentioned he wasn’t busy and would be staying with them for the night, they decided to have a meal first.
The academy scored yet again another championship.
As a result, the deans spared no expense in ordering, while Shye contributed by adding a few extra premium dishes to ensure they had more than enough, with plenty to spare.
Such an impressive comeback win deserved a grand celebration, after all.
…A few moments later, one of Maia’s teammates, Bren, couldn’t wait any longer.
The young man quickly snapped a lobster claw, extracted the luscious meat, and promptly put it into his mouth.
Bren’s expression of pure bliss as he savored the soft and slightly sweet lobster meat prompted everyone, including Shye, to subtly gulp.
Soon after, everyone began to dig in.
The air was filled with sounds of blissful chewing and swallowing, along with a variety of appetizing aromas, as the people from Colzen ate heartily for over an hour, their faces beaming with smiles.
Then, once they were done, all eyes were on Shye again as the deans resumed their eager questioning.
“Now then, Crowley, I assume you’re already promoted to the main branch?” Dean Privett asked with a gleam of anticipation in her eyes.
It was nearly impossible for a Mithril-ranked adventurer to remain in other cities, as most would have already been promoted to their guilds’ main branches.
However, there were some exceptions: people who willingly chose to stay in other cities for various reasons, such as starting a family and raising their children.
The Crowley couple was an example of such adventurers.
With their diamond rank at the time of Shye’s birth, it would simply be impossible for them to survive in Valenzia City.
Therefore, they chose Colzen as their base of operations, even though it meant traveling over thirty kilometers to earn money.
…”Yes, Dean Privett, I’ve already been promoted to the main branch around ten and a half months ago.” Shye replied with a smile, feeling slightly embarrassed that nearly all of the deans’ questions allowed him to show off in front of the Colzen faculty, his little sister, and the other representatives.
[Congratulations! You’ve earned 25 points!]
The system notifications weren’t helping either.
‘Sigh…it isn’t easy being an accomplished young man!’ Shye thought inwardly with a slightly pleased grin.
“What?! Big brother! Why didn’t you tell me you were already in Valenzia City? I’ve been sending you letters in Balkrow City!” Maia complained, a hint of anger in her voice.
However, her height, cute face, and naturally gentle and soothing voice made it difficult for her reprimand to have an impact on Shye.

“I apologize, Maia. I’ve been incredibly busy these past few months establishing my own division at the guild’s main branch. I’ve also been appointed as a regional champion, which requires me to leave the region every four months for tasks assigned by the WAA. But don’t worry, we’ll be able to communicate more easily now. Here, take this.”
Shye dropped psychological bombs one after the other without even realizing it, leaving the people from Colzen with their eyes wide open, and their mouths agape.
A rookie establishing his own division?
Appointed as a regional champion with barely two years of adventuring experience?
Who the hell except for heroes in the tales of old could claim such absurd accomplishments as though they were random achievements that could be accomplished by just anyone?
“C-C-CROWLEY! Explain everything!”
***
Shye just wanted to give Maia a mana communicator so that in the future, they would be able to give each other a call.
However, he found himself needing to explain everything to the curious and amazed Colzen faculty and representatives first before being able to do so.
To be fair, anyone would relish hearing such glorious tales of invincibility.
So, for hours, Shye and the people from Colzen chatted nonstop inside the restaurant, with Shye as the main storyteller.
Luckily for them, the restaurant owner saw this as an opportunity to curry favor with the renowned Shye Crowley.
Hence, despite it being way past their closing hours, the restaurant allowed Shye and the Colzen folks to talk and celebrate for as long as they wanted, even serving them alcoholic beverages from time to time, with the employees not daring to show even a hint of disapproval.
Consequently, Shye found himself recounting literally all of his achievements, some of which he had to repeat and elaborate on multiple times.
Despite doing so, the Colzen folks, including Maia, still found it difficult to believe everything.
If it wasn’t for Shye recounting such tales, most of them would merely laugh and sneer at the person in disdain for lying.
Even the restaurant staff, including the head chef, couldn’t help but eavesdrop.
Only after the two deans were satisfied with Shye’s tales and his explanations of how he accomplished them did they finally conclude their “elaborate catching-up session.”
“Well then, it’s almost morning. We must bid you farewell, Crowley. When we return, I’ll assign people to create flyers, posters, and banners for your broadcasting channel to be distributed in Colzen and its neighboring cities. I apologize for our extensive questioning and appreciate your detailed explanations that satisfied our curiosity,” said Dean Snowcrest, slightly drunk, offering a formal bow to Shye.
“No worries, Dean Snowcrest,” Shye said with an equally formal bow, turning his head to look at his little sister the next moment.
“Maia, use the mana communicator I gave you to stay in touch from time to time. Take care of yourself, okay? I’ll speak to the guild master about assigning you to the Balkrow branch. Look for an emerald-ranked adventurer named Seira; she’ll look after you until she’s promoted to the main branch. And here, take this spatial bag as my congratulatory gift to you.”
“Thank you, big brother!”
Shye could feel the expectant gazes from the other Colzen representatives who seemed to be waiting for him to also give them a few gifts, prompting him to chuckle inwardly.
“I suppose it wouldn’t hurt to provide them with a few quality items.’ He mused, taking out a few more bags—regular ones—containing various mid-grade training tonics.
“Thank you, Senior Shye!” The representatives exclaimed gratefully in unison, immediately checking their bags’ contents with an excited gleam in their eyes.
After concluding their reunion with a few more short conversations, the deans led the Colzen folks and parted ways with Shye.
The representatives then, along with his little sister, waved their hands at him with enthusiasm.
They hoped to meet the legendary Shye Crowley again in the future.
Hopefully, as a rival or as a comrade.
‘Well then, I shall rest for a few hours and get back to business…’
