Chapter 541: Shye “The Consultant” Crowley
Everyone stared at Siegfried and the young woman with a dumbfounded expression.
This gorgeous young woman with hazel brown eyes, brown hair tied up in a ponytail, and an athletically slim body was someone that Shye and Kiin found familiar, as she was one of their opponents during the grand finals of the Adventurer Academy Competition—one of Damien’s teammates.
However, they were also perplexed as to why she was here.
“Lesurii Kusanagi…correct?” Shye asked the agitated young woman whose heart was racing—her breathing—heavy.
“Huh?! And wh–…Oh…Shye Crowley, yes, that’s correct. I am indeed Lesurii Kusanagi from Aslan Academy.”
“I see…May I ask why are you looking for my friend?”
“Hoh… you’re asking? Didn’t you see what he did to me at the Adventurer Academy Competition?! I’m here to demand that he take responsibility!”
Upon hearing Lesurii’s explanation, Shye was dumbfounded for a few moments before nearly bursting into laughter.
If not for his self-control, he would have surely gotten himself into trouble, given that the attractive young woman in front of him was genuinely fuming over such a ridiculous reason.
Kiin was also a smart one, the muscles on his face did not even twitch.
“C-Crowley! Isn’t she ridiculous? How could she expect me to accompany her for life due to one accident?! This is simply unfair!”
“Unfair?! You think that you, sullying my…my body, isn’t unfair?!”
Shye found it amusing to watch the two innocent youngsters bicker, so instead of helping his good buddy, he fanned the flames.
“Hmm…This is indeed a bit tricky…”
Hearing Shye’s voice that both sides somehow found pleasant to hear—as it gave them a slight hope that someone would help them explain their point to the other party—Lesurii and Siegfried stopped bickering and shifted their attention to him.
Meanwhile, Kiin said nothing, allowing Shye to continue with his bullshit—inwardly amused.
“C-Crowley, help me out, will you? Explain to this crazy woman how a simple unintentional kiss did not sully her bo–…constitution!” Siegfried said, his pitiful and stressed-out expression causing Shye to reconsider fanning the flames further.
Shortly after, Lesurii spoke, her words serving as the final deterrent that made Shye abandon his rather mischievous plan.
“S-Shye Crowley, I didn’t want this either! But my family is very conservative, and after what happened two years ago, they won’t even let me see my parents unless I make this guy take responsibility and stay with me forever! I haven’t seen my parents in two years… uuu… I miss them…”
Watching Lesurii’s tears stream down her cheeks, Shye felt intense guilt for even considering making fun of them.
He hadn’t realized her seemingly foolish actions had such profound reasons behind them.
Heck, he even started to think that the family members of Aslan alumni were rather dim-witted themselves.
‘Who in their right mind would disown a family member over a simple accidental kiss?’ he thought to himself, planning to address the issue later in his division’s lounge.
“There are many onlookers here. Follow me, let’s talk somewhere more private,” Shye said, turning around and heading towards the Flashy Ravens Rising’s division lounge.
Realizing that many Raven’s Blade guild members were watching them with intrigue and great interest, Lesurii and Siegfried felt embarrassed as they followed Shye shortly after.
…A few minutes later, inside Shye’s office, stood four individuals: Shye, Kiin, Lesurii, and Siegfried.
After a brief silence, Shye spoke, aiming to resolve the initially hilarious but now serious situation between his close friend and the young woman who had abruptly barged into their guild demanding responsibility.
“Miss Lesurii, can you please clarify what you need my good friend to do for you to be allowed back into your clan?”
Despite the stupid reason, Lesurii’s situation—banished from the renowned Kusanagi Clan—was indeed serious.
Hence, Shye couldn’t bring himself to make fun of the two anymore, not to mention, that his good friend would probably go bald from the stress should he not intervene and help them resolve the situation.

“Like I said, I need him to take responsibility and m…m-marry me!”
After hearing her demands, Siegfried was utterly horrified.
“No! Please, you cr—Miss Lesurii, try to see it from my perspective. How can I possibly marry someone I barely know just because of an accidental kiss that neither of us wanted? I can’t give up my entire life for a stranger, can I? Could you do that?”
Siegfried’s reasonable response brought a troubled expression to Lesurii’s face.
She understood that her demands were indeed rather excessive.
However, what else could she do? She wouldn’t be allowed back into her clan, and her parents refused to see her unless she brought Siegfried back and married him.
“Miss Lesurii, Siegfried makes a valid point. However, I recognize that your situation is equally challenging. Therefore, I have a proposal that could give both of you a chance to resolve this peacefully.” Shye said with an air of mysteriousness.
His words along with his current dependable appearance brought hope to the two youngsters’ hearts.
Maybe…just maybe…they could indeed resolve this peacefully.
“But first, Miss Lesurii, may I confirm which adventurer guild you joined?”
“I… naturally joined Raven’s Blade after learning that the entire Colzen roster from two years ago joined this guild. I needed to marry this bas—this guy, after all. I also worked tirelessly to advance my career as quickly as possible, which allowed me to be promoted to the main branch in Valenzia City, where I was sure to meet him.” The young woman said with a hint of resentment, casting a sideways glare at Siegfried.
“Good, this would work…” Shye nodded in satisfaction.
His proposal would be more effective if they were both in the same guild, after all.
Siegfried, utterly anxious to hear a feasible solution, spoke: “C-Crowley, quickly, what’s the solution you came up with?”
“Simple. You wouldn’t marry a stranger, correct? And you also need someone equally skilled as you to hunt (S-) ranked creatures, right?”
Siegfried wasn’t dense; he quickly understood Shye’s proposal.
“You mean…”
“Yes, it would be unfair not to give Miss Lesurii, who is in a similarly difficult situation, a chance. The least you could do is make an effort to get to know her,” Shye began, turning his head toward Lesurii before continuing, “Is this arrangement acceptable, Miss Lesurii? You can’t force someone to marry you, and I’m sure you wouldn’t want to marry a complete stranger either, correct?”
Shye’s words made sense, causing the young woman to nod slightly in agreement.
“Good. For now, how about the two of you go on a few quests together and get to know each other, hmm?”
