Chapter 549: Champions’ Strategy Meeting
*CREAK*
The door of the rendezvous room creaked open, and an ashen-haired young man in his early twenties emerged.
Entering the room, Shye scanned his eyes over the room.
‘Sigh…as I thought…’
There were thirteen people in the room. Six of them were adventurers aged 23 to 28, while the others seemed to be handlers, one of whom was his handler, Nutter.
Two adventurers stared at him with unfriendly gazes, three with indifference, and one with outright hostility.
“Ah, Crowley, perfect timing, we’re about to start discussing how to clear the (S) ranked Horza Blaidde Mana Dungeon,” Nutter said with a smile to defuse the tense situation.
She was used to her champion arriving late and was a bit worried that it would anger the champions from other regions.
Hence, Nutter was pleasantly surprised that Shye arrived on time, albeit barely.
“Hello, Miss Nutter,” Shye said, smiling amiably at the petite, five-foot-two young woman with brown eyes, medium-length black hair, glasses, and a belt bag on her waist.
“Aihh…I thought you would be late again…Good thing you arrived early today.”
“Hahaha, I apologize for my tardiness, as you know, Valenzia is quite far from Yon Augenn and Fanfir.”
“Ahem!”
Seeing that Shye and Nutter were talking a bit too comfortably in a room that should have a stern atmosphere, the most senior out of all the handlers, Fyun, cleared his throat.
“Nutter, Shye Crowley, please be quiet. If you’re ready, let’s discuss the plan.”
“Ahh, yes. I apologize, senior Fyun.”
Since Shye and Nutter appeared to have acknowledged their mistakes and were now listening attentively, Fyun nodded with satisfaction before speaking again to discuss their dungeon-clearing strategy.
“Now then, as you all know, the seven of you—champions of your respective regions—will be heading inside the (S) ranked Horza Blaidde Mana Dungeon in an attempt to clear it.”
“This mission is more challenging than your usual ones. Therefore, if you successfully complete it, the WAA will not require you to complete any mandatory quests for six months.”
Fyun’s sudden announcement of a six-month leave brought smiles to the champions’ faces, including Shye’s, as having six months to focus on their careers was truly a welcome opportunity.
They were all young, and although five of them were already adamantite-ranked adventurers, they weren’t highly ranked within their respective regions.
Nevertheless, being a regional champion was not just for show; it guaranteed that one had the potential to become one of the fifty strongest adventurers in the entire region given enough time.
“Let me remind you once more, this additional reward is only if you complete the quest. You must all ensure that you return alive for you to enjoy such rewards. The quest has a time limit of three months, during which the dungeon will be closed to the public. Are we clear so far?”
“Yes, Handler Fyun!” The regional champions responded in unison.
“Good. Now, let me go over the well-known rules of the Horza Blaidde Mana Dungeon. First, there is an age limit of twenty-nine years old. Second, no familiars or tamed creatures are allowed inside. Third, health potions do not work in the dungeon, only mana and stamina potions do. Lastly, the mana dungeon will drain one mana every thirty seconds from invaders. Be sure to bring plenty of mana potions. Any questions?”
“None, Handler Fyun!”
Scanning his eyes over the champions with his signature stern gaze, Fyun inwardly nodded upon seeing that none of them were taking things lightly.
Well, except for one young man who looked a bit sleepy: Rai Hou, the Yon Augenn champion.
The mentioned youngster was twenty-four years old, had a slim yet toned physique, long green hair tied in a ponytail, handsome facial features, and a green armband on his left arm.
Judging by the quiver on his back, Rai Hou was an archer.

“Now, since none of you have questions regarding the rules, I shall go over known facts regarding the dungeon that would help you clear it safer and faster.”
“First and foremost, the dungeon is rated (S+), meaning it will be harder to clear than regular (S) ranked dungeons. However, rest assured, we confirmed yesterday that the dungeon hasn’t advanced to (SS) rank yet. As long as you all work well together and perform at your best throughout, you should be able to clear it.”
“Regarding whether you can complete it in three months, that will depend on your performance.”
“Second, the dungeon contains a mix of void-type and darkness-type creatures. Expect it to be perilously dark with many void cracks you could fall into, so stay vigilant. Bring plenty of high-grade fluorescent sticks and a few high-grade fluorescent crystals for good measure.”
“Third, it’s ideal for everyone to use weapons with fire and light properties. For armor, those enchanted with earth element gemstones would be best.”
“Fourth and lastly, the dungeon is relatively shallow with only ten floors. However, each floor is vast, and finding the stairs to the next level can be challenging. Never lose patience; getting lost inside is normal.”
“Understood?”
“Yes, Handler Fyun!”
Shye was surprised. It was evident that most of his teammates were arrogant.
Yet, none of them dared disrespect Fyun.
‘Hoh…he must be quite a renowned handler…even Miss Nutter is looking at him with reverence…’ Shye mused, feeling rather pleased as he realized that they were in good hands.
“Good. Now, since one of the goals of this mission is to foster camaraderie with those from other regions, let’s have everyone introduce themselves. Rai Hou, you start.”
Hearing Fyun’s words, the sleepy young man from the Yon Augenn region sighed.
“Ehh~ why me? Sigh…Oh well, Rai Hou, twenty-four years old, archer.”
After a lazy introduction, the Yon Augenn Champion immediately sat back down and closed his eyes, seemingly trying to take a quick nap.
Naturally, Rai Hou’s actions annoyed the other champions, except for Shye, who did not give a single cr*p.
Astonishingly, though, none of those who were angered dared reprimand him.
‘Hoh, it seems that the reputation of the number one region isn’t just for show…’
