Chapter 550: Horza Blaidde Extermination Party
The rendezvous room went silent for a short while before a blonde young man with short curly hair, glasses, and a perpetual frown that seemed to hate the entire world stepped up and introduced himself.
“My name is Walter Glitz, a mage-class champion from this mission’s host region, Fanfir. I consider age irrelevant, so I won’t be stating mine. With my mastery of both fire and light element spells, I will be the primary damage dealer for this mission. Also, I have a penchant for destruction, so please stay out of my way or face the consequences. That’s all.”
Walter’s rather arrogant introduction naturally elicited disdainful sneers from the champions from other regions, including Shye.
“Hmph! Big words from a mere nerd who can’t do anything without us warrior-class adventurers. I’m Dalton from Weaven, and I’m the one who will protect all of you. At twenty-nine, I’m the oldest and most experienced here. You should all follow my lead, or you’ll most likely end up dead.”
A bald, brown-skinned man with a muscular physique, a cross-shaped scar on his face, and the appearance of a middle-aged man in his late thirties snorted in annoyance.
The man carried a huge mace and shield on his back, suggesting that he was a tank-type warrior.
“What did you just say, you damned ape?!” Walter retorted, swiftly retrieving his staff from his spatial bag and aiming it toward Dalton, who also drew his mace and shield.
“Hoh, what? You wanna fight, nerd?”
The situation seemed on the verge of escalating into a fight, prompting Dalton’s and Walter’s handlers to quickly sprint to their champions’ sides and hold them back.
But just before elemental spells flew and melee weapons were brandished, a holy light shone upon the two angry adventurers, calming their raging hearts.
“W-Walter, D-Dalton, p-p-p-please calm down! There’s no need to fight, is there? Aren’t we all allies here?” A voice as soothing as honey sounded from Shye’s left, prompting him and the others to turn toward its source.
The tall, silver-haired girl with a blessed bosom and behind was well-known within the champions’ circle for her exceptional skills as a priestess and her kind, empathetic heart.
Hence, Shye immediately recognized who she was.
‘Mira Holyfield, huh? I’m eager to see if you truly live up to your reputation as the Chellione region’s soon-to-be priestess hero,’ Shye mused, glancing at the kindhearted priestess with a slight smile.
She was only a bit older than Shye.
Moreover, she was in a similar situation as him, assigned as a temporary champion due to her age.
Once she turned twenty-four, a priestess hero’s crest would be engraved on her body.
“Hey, you idiots better stop soon or I’ll kill you both right here and now. Can’t you see you’re making things difficult for our sweet Mira here?” Another young woman said, unsheathing her dagger and idly twirling it as she cast a cold stare at Walter and Dalton.
The muscle-brained warrior wasn’t affected by her threats.
However, it was a different story for Walter, who felt chills crawl down his spine.
He had once been to a party with this young woman.
Hence, he knew how ruthless and skilled she was as a scout.
She was someone Walter wouldn’t dare provoke.
While warriors were not an issue for him, scouts were a different matter altogether.
With the curly-haired mage backing off, the tense situation was defused, allowing Mira to breathe a sigh of relief.
Noting that her threat had worked on at least one of the two, the five-foot-five young female scout with short red hair, a slim physique clearly built for speed, and female endowments not as pronounced as Mira’s, smirked and snorted with satisfaction before proceeding to introduce herself.
“I’m Koneko Kaneko from the renowned Kaneko Clan of the Hakk’shatta region. I’m sure most of you, except for a certain backwater rat, are aware that our clan specializes in taking down both monstrous creatures and people. Just don’t annoy me, and you’ll be fine. Also, if any of you dare to mess with Mira, I’ll slit your throats.”
After a rather unfriendly introduction, Koneko sat back down, retrieving a whetstone from her spatial bag to sharpen her dagger threateningly shortly after.
The dagger seemed to be enchanted with a high-grade light-element gemstone, which was very difficult to obtain.
Naturally, Shye was somewhat annoyed, realizing that he was the “backwater rat” the young female scout had referred to.

He was about to retort.
However, before he could respond, the last of the six—a person with a slim yet toned physique built for speed, spiky short black hair, and rather unappealing facial features—spoke up in support of Koneko’s words.
Hahaha, of course, I know about the infamous Kaneko Clan. After all, I, Freeze Winfield from the Winfield Adventurer Clan of the Krebori region, is not some backwater rodent from Valenzia. Sigh, I don’t even understand why the WAA picked someone who will just drag us down.
“Shye Crowley, the so-called most talented adventurer in the history of Valenzia Region? Ha! Don’t make me laugh. You’re only famous because the opponents in your small pond were all incompetent. You’d probably be considered a second-rate genius if you were from Krebori!”
Hearing the words of the young man who looked at him with outright hostility as soon as he entered the room, Shye couldn’t help but clench his fists in anger, veins popping at the sides of his head.
It seemed that no one would acknowledge him if he didn’t show his strength, which would be detrimental to the party’s synergy.
‘Hahaha, very well. You’ve asked for humiliation, so I, Shye Crowley, the genie of the lamp, will gladly grant your wish.’ He inwardly laughed in fury, not expecting that his heart wouldn’t allow him to take even the slightest bit of insult.
“Hahaha, you talk as if Krebori isn’t a backwater region. Isn’t your region only a rank above Valenzia? Why are you so proud when all you’re doing is kissing that delusional woman’s boots?” Shye retorted, a cold smile emerging on his face.
“Since you’re so confident that I’m the weakest here, why don’t we have a duel? It’s a bit dull without any stakes, so let’s wager 20,000 gold coins and a life-saving treasure. What do you say?”
