Chapter 561: Brallnr
Shye’s eyes narrowed as he wiped the thin stream of blood trickling down the corners of his mouth, gazing at the creature coldly.

It was huge.

Standing at three and a half meters tall, the monster had a humanoid figure, wearing tattered shorts made of crudely woven rattan, along with silver bracelets and black metal anklets.

With only a single large eye in the middle of its forehead, the creature eerily gazed at the humans, a grotesque smile on its unusually wide mouth.

Its pale purple skin, reminiscent of rotting flesh, combined with its insanely muscular physique, made it seem daunting to even wound at first glance.

Lastly, the creature’s unusually thin, bat-like feet didn’t appear to offer much agility, but the demonic wings on its back most likely provided the mobility it needed for combat.

Most high-ranked adventurers in Valenzia are familiar with Brallnrs, and Shye was no exception, being a Mithril-ranked adventurer.

There were even a few quests to hunt such creatures posted on the guild’s quest board.

However, because Brallnrs were incredibly difficult to kill due to their wings and exceptionally tough constitution, he always avoided taking on such quests.

It was always more efficient to take on other creatures.

Thus, despite these creatures primarily inhabiting the Valenzia Region, this was the first time he actually faced a Brallnr.

“Brallnr!” Freeze exclaimed.

His region, Krebori, being adjacent to Valenzia, occasionally issues Brallnr subjugation quests. As a result, Freeze had also heard of these creatures.

“Freeze, explain! What is a Brallnr?” Dalton asked, eliciting Walter’s ire.

The two idiots nearly started quarreling again. However, a massive explosion interrupted them, drawing their attention and saving them from Rai Hou’s anger.

“Crowley!” the Yon Augenn champion exclaimed with a hint of worry.

A twenty-meter radius black sphere expanding outward and engulfing their party leader was truly a concerning sight, especially since the party leader was a warrior-class adventurer with supposedly less agility than archers or scouts, making it unlikely for him to escape the [Hollow Blast]’s explosion range.

However, how could Shye, who had various repositioning skills from three classes, not manage to escape?

The last thing Rai Hou saw was Shye attempting to use [Dash] to escape before the black sphere obstructed his view.

Based on what he saw, it appeared Shye was directly hit by the blast’s void explosion.

However, that wasn’t the case.

Just before the skill struck, Shye used [Blink] to escape to safety, teleporting to a dark part of the hallway that was out of range of Walter’s [Illumina].

“I’m fine. Dalton, control the creature’s aggression! Everyone, get in position!”

Hearing Shye’s voice echo from the darkness, Rai Hou and the others, who were momentarily stupefied, finally regained their senses, getting into battle position as Shye commanded.

Dalton, the team’s shielder and defensive pillar, immediately charged to the front, beating his chest as he used one of his skills, [Taunt Lv.5], to draw the Brallnr’s attention.

The chest beat sounded like war drums in the ears of the monstrous creature, a direct challenge to its authority as the floor guardian, causing it to turn its head to look for the source of the irritating sound.

*ROAR!*

Realizing it was Dalton, the Brallnr roared menacingly before charging furiously at the hulking man.

It extended its long, muscular arms, which emitted a black aura as it clawed at Dalton.

“Iron Fortress!” Dalton exclaimed as he positioned his shield to block the Brallnr’s attack.

A few milliseconds later…

*CLANG!*

An ear-splitting sound of metal clashing against another metallic weapon resounded as the black claw failed to break through the [Iron Fortress]-enhanced shield.

Naturally, the one-eyed Brallnr wasn’t amused, immediately following up with another claw attack.

This time, the attack horrifyingly ripped through the void, revealing purple cracks in the air as it headed straight for Dalton’s shield.

“Kuhh…Mira!” Dalton exclaimed, terrified.

“Heavenly Protection!”

Fortunately, Mira finished her incantation just in time, summoning a small protective golden sphere in front of Dalton that absorbed the brunt of the attack.

Purple sparks crackled as the void claw clashed with the heavenly sphere, rapidly destroying the barrier.

After two more seconds, Mira’s barrier finally cracked, allowing the horrifying claw attack to proceed toward its initial target: Dalton’s Mithril-tier shield.

“Nice assist, Mira!” Dalton exclaimed as a confident expression returned to his face. “Beastly Block!”

A red aura momentarily enveloped Dalton, dramatically increasing his blocking strength for two seconds.

This allowed him to swat the void claw away as if it were a mere fly.

Naturally, with one of its arms sent flying, the Brallnr lost balance, its heavy footsteps echoing as it staggered backward.

“It’s our turn! Counterattack!” Dalton exclaimed proudly, a satisfied battle-crazed smile on his brutish face.

“Luminous Destruction!”

Walter’s voice sounded as he initiated the extermination party’s counterattack. Soon after, a destructive golden ray emerged from his elemental staff, howling menacingly as it shot through the air, heading straight towards the Brallnr Cyclops’ face.

*ROAR!*

The enormous creature wasn’t the floor guardian for nothing, however, and was able to decisively position its remaining free hand in an attempt to block the golden ray.

Unfortunately, it underestimated the scholarly Walter.

Although the golden ray failed to pierce the tough palm, it was strong enough to force the hand to jerk backward, causing the cyclops to hit its own face with its heavy, muscular backhand.

Since the cyclops was already off balance to begin with, the backhand hit served as the final straw that broke the camel’s back, causing a thunderous thud to reverberate as the monstrous creature fell on its back.

“Now! Kill it!”
