Chapter 566: Don’t Move, I Shall Slay It Alone
After “equally” dividing the three item drops, the WAA extermination party descended the golden stairs.
To their surprise, they encountered pathways that were purple rather than dark.
It was a pleasant change as they did not have to struggle in terms of vision anymore.
However, the dried clay flooring had transformed into a muddy surface, which was far from ideal for combat as it was too slippery.
Also, like a bullied child, Dalton refused to speak to anyone until Shye demonstrated how the Impious Origin Belt would benefit him more than it would benefit Dalton.
Of course, Shye was more than willing to do so, ensuring everyone that he would prove his point against the second floor’s guardian.
Until then, it seemed that Dalton wouldn’t talk.
‘As if I care whether you talk or not. You can sew your mouth shut for all I care. However, if you dare cause trouble for the party, I’ll teach you a lesson.’ Shye inwardly thought as he walked ten meters in front of the party, resuming his lead-scout duties.
Annoyingly, there appeared to be more [Void] monsters than [Dark] ones, with most of them lurking in void pockets.
“Everyone, prepare yourselves. There are three creatures hiding in void pockets twenty-five meters ahead.”

Hours quickly passed.
The WAA extermination party members, with no issues regarding vision, were finally able to showcase around 90% of their true strength. They decimated groups of (A-) to (S-) ranked monstrous creatures roaming the purple dirt pathways of the Horza Blaidde Mana Dungeon’s second floor within minutes if not seconds.
If not for the slippery surface of the muddy clay floor, they would be able to do it even faster
The primary force on the second floor consisted of (A) ranked monstrous creatures known as Voidgar Commanders.
These monsters stood two meters tall and stretched seven meters in length.
They had purple-colored skin and walked on four muscular legs, with the front two ending in lethal purple scythes.
They also possessed an eerily large maw, no eyes and nose, a one-meter-long upper skull extending backward, and a two-meter-long sharp tail.
The Voidgar Commanders guarded the pathways in plain sight, while around seven to ten (B) ranked Voidgar Pawns hid within void pockets. They waited for someone to attack their tough and strong commander before emerging from their hiding spots to assassinate the invaders and assist their leader.
However, even such troublesome opponents were finished off in mere minutes.
Consequently, even though the brutish ape was sulking, they sped through the second floor.
They could even boldly claim that it had been way easier compared to the first one wherein they encountered all sorts of problems.
Thus, it only took them about two days to locate the descending staircase.
However, unlike the glowing golden one on the first floor, this was just an ordinary concrete staircase.
‘But before that…’
“Hey, Crowley. Didn’t you tell us that you’ll show us how the Impious Origin Belt would benefit you more? There’s the guardian of the second floor, so why don’t you quickly show us?”
Dalton, who remained silent throughout their second-floor journey, finally spoke with a mocking sneer.
“Fine, since you still haven’t learned your lesson and are begging for a slap, I will show you.” Shye began, his gaze sweeping over the entire party. “No one move. I will slay this guardian alone.”
Naturally, Shye’s words utterly shocked everyone, including Rai Hou, who couldn’t help but go against his idea this time.
“No, Crowley. I understand you want to fully convince Dalton, but it’s too dangerous to face that creature alone. Also, it’s inefficient. We have an entire party here that can work together to take it down safely. There’s no need for you to play the hero.” The Yon Augenn champion said with a frown.

So far, he had been pleased with Shye’s decision-making and leadership capabilities.
This was the first time he had to intervene.
After all, what Shye was about to do was not only illogical but also inefficient.
“Heh, right. No need to play the hero—you’ll just die,” Dalton mocked, trying to fan the flames in hopes of somehow getting the belt back from Shye.
Unfortunately, his words fell on deaf ears as Shye ignored him and shifted his gaze to Rai Hou, who was sincerely trying to dissuade Shye from attempting to take on the second-floor guardian alone.
“Rai Hou, I appreciate the concern. However, I assure you, this isn’t inefficient at all. I’ll quickly slay that monster. It wouldn’t even take a minute.” Shye said, pausing and smiling mysteriously before continuing: “Also, don’t you guys want to see a glimpse of your party leader’s true strength?”
Rai Hou would be lying if he said he wasn’t curious about how strong Shye Crowley, the most celebrated champion, rookie, and soon-to-be hero of Valenzia, really was.
“Tch, I’ll be in trouble if you fail…” the Yon Augenn champion replied, scratching his head for a moment before adding, “Fine. However, if you show even the slightest sign of trouble, we’ll come in to assist.”
“That’s fine with me.”
Finally getting Rai Hou to agree, Shye excitedly stepped forward.
‘Sigh…if only I’m allowed to broadcast WAA missions…’ He lamented. ‘Well, at least I get to show off!’
Naturally, Dalton had a smile on his face as he watched Shye walk towards the floor guardian alone.
He believed that Shye could grievously wound the creature. However, there was no doubt in his mind that Shye would fail to kill it alone.
After all, the (S-) ranked creature before them, the Voidos Devourer, primarily inhabits void nests in death zones near the Phaskalda and Weaven Region, which Dalton is from.
As a result, he was highly familiar with this creature and knew just how absurdly tough it was—far tougher and more difficult to kill than the Brallnr Cyclops they had encountered earlier.
However, the catch was that despite their brutish and savage appearance, Voidos Devourers were actually mage-type creatures with incredibly fast casting times.
This often caught adventurers off-guard, as they would mistake the creature for a strength-type and be killed within moments by a sudden ranged attack.
‘Hahaha, let’s see how you plan to defeat the creature alone, you arrogant backwater rat…’
