Chapter 596: Bombshell Revelations
“Haaah…Haaah…Yes, Shye! That’s it! I’m cumm–…”
Passionate sounds echoed from a certain moderately sized luxurious house inside Valenzia City for almost an entire night.
Because of the mana communicator, Shye and Shirley had agreed to meet again on the big stage at Shirley’s request, so it had been a long time since they last did the deed.
This resulted in both of them longing for the other’s warm and sweet embrace.
They were at it for hours before finally feeling satisfied, then turned in for the night to rest up for the next day.
As the majestic sun bathed the world in light, banishing the night’s lingering chill, Shirley woke up, feeling a bit weary in her lower body.
She was used to waking up early.
Hence, despite staying up late, she was still the first to get up from the bed, heading straight towards the bathroom to wash up.
She headed to the kitchen to prepare a hearty meal for Shye, who woke up just in time, drawn by the savory aroma of garlic fried rice, an assortment of fried meats, sautéed vegetables, and more.
It wasn’t just a hearty meal but a complete one with almost all kinds of nutrients covered.
Naturally, Shye cherished the heartwarming scene that greeted him first thing in the morning. It touched his heart and made him wish he could capture that moment and relive it endlessly.
Getting out of bed, he headed to the bathroom to brush his teeth before going to the kitchen and giving his woman a sweet back hug, eliciting the cutest giggle from the renowned Ice Queen of Nookbury.
The couple then had the most delightful of breakfasts.
Despite the smiling exterior, Shye was actually nervous as heck.
He had already mulled over telling Shirley about the old man and his allegiance. However, he couldn’t help but doubt whether his decision to tell her was correct, as he didn’t want her to be involved if possible.
Unfortunately, he knew that as one of the up-and-coming talents of Valenzia, it would be impossible for her to not be involved.
The WAA would likely conscript her into the fight against the old man’s terrorist group, as the organization was probably now under Dweezel’s puppet strings, none the wiser that the conniving bastard was the true villain.
If so, then it would be better to trust his dearest and let her decide for herself, as they might end up on different sides of the battle should he act indecisively like a wuss.
Sometimes, opting for the risky choice was the correct answer.
Resolving himself one last time, Shye looked at Shirley straight in her eyes, his expression stern.
“Shye?” the beauty said, confused.
“Shirley, I have something important to tell you.”
“W-what is it?”
Judging from the tone of her beloved’s voice, it was an extremely important one, possibly a matter of life and death.
“Sigh…where do I begin…” Shye sighed, removing what little nervousness remained in his heart. “Well, to summarize, the world will end if we don’t put a stop to the evil deeds of a certain villain hailed as a hero. Thus, we have to play the villain for a while to save the world. D-Did that make sense?”
Shirley blinked a few times, stupefied at what she just heard. She expected to hear something big. However, not one of this scale.
“C-Can you explain more?” she asked, slightly nervous as images of her parents flashed through her mind.
She wanted to give them a good life once she made it on the big stage.
However, if there was no world for them to reside in, then her hard work would be for naught.
Shirley’s reaction gave Shye hope.

He had been unsure how to start, but unknowingly, he had provided the best possible introduction to the issue, significantly increasing his chances of persuading her to join his side.
After all, the entire world would be a battlefield between two great forces of kindness and evil, though the roles in reality were reversed.
The safest place for Shirley was probably by his side, and that’s why he took the risk to tell her.
“To put it simply, sealing the Black Dragon fifty years ago was a huge mistake, a sham done for the sake of personal benefit by the one hailed as the greatest hero, Dweezel Hawkins.”
Upon hearing Shye’s words, Shirley frowned slightly.
Her father, despite his modest achievements as an adventurer, was her biggest idol and a fan of Dweezel.
Because of this, Shirley had always held a positive view of the greatest hero.
She was a bit heartbroken to hear that Dweezel Hawkins wasn’t as heroic as how she believed the man to be.
She knew Shye had no reason to lie to her, especially since he had even revealed his biggest secret in the hope of advancing side by side with her.
So, despite how unbelievable it sounded, she fully believed his story.
Shye had underestimated how much Shirley trusted him, taking out an orb of truth in hopes of making her believe him.
He didn’t even notice that she was already fully convinced without him even taking out the orb due to how tense he was.
“Shye… I appreciate the effort you’re making to prove that you’re not lying to convince me. However, I fully trust you. There’s no need for you to harm yourself just to make me believe you’re telling the truth. I know you are,” Shirley said sweetly with a smile, tugging at Shye’s heartstrings.
‘What an angel… I’m quite the lucky guy…,’ Shye thought subconsciously.
He entered the relationship with the mindset of seeing how long it would last.
Who would have guessed that what started as a whimsical, puppy love between two youngsters would develop into something so deep?
It was a fairy tale love story.
Only, they were just at the point in their story where they had to battle evil for their chance at eternal happiness.
Shye then proceeded to explain that the old man he told her about in the past, the one who gave him the system, was actually the leader of the largest and most notorious terrorist group in Adthiopia whose operations spanned all regions, Hadean Varsa.
He also explained that Sanada Eiichiro, more known as the Voidweaver, was a member of the Yon Augenn Hero Party fifty years ago.
The old man aimed to rectify the mistakes of their party by releasing the black dragon and taking down Dweezel, who held a firm grip on the world’s most powerful authority, the World Adventurer Association.
Every piece of information was like a modern-day atomic bomb, wreaking chaos and utter havoc inside Shirley’s brain, shaking her heart.
Finally, the fact that mana dungeons have been sprouting all over the world and siphoning its mana was the information that made her believe everything wholeheartedly, convincing her that the world would indeed be doomed if Dweezel managed to achieve immortality and keep the Black Dragon sealed.
She couldn’t fathom how the fraudster planned to survive in a dead world, but knowing how cunning Dweezel was, she was certain he had the scheme to become the sole recognized ruler of a desolate Adthiopia.
Only those who submitted to him would be allowed to live.
Naturally, Shirley would rather die fighting for the right cause than live under the control of an evil ruler in a lifeless world.
“I’ll fight alongside you, Shye. For our future, and our children’s…”
