Chapter 612: Yon Augenn City
The royal sun rose once more to its celestial throne, casting warm and gentle morning rays over the land and driving away the biting darkness.
Along a well-traveled path, a rare trio—a king-class familiar spirit, an (S)-ranked monster, and a mithril-ranked young adventurer—strolled leisurely, enjoying the wide, well-built concrete road beneath them.
“Oh? Is that Yon Augenn City?” Shye exclaimed excitedly as the silhouette of tall, thick, and wide city walls came into view.
Yon Augenn City was the top-ranked city in the entire world. He could only imagine how well-developed the city was.
‘Valenzia, despite its grandeur, would probably not be able to compare to it in the slightest…’ He mused, eager to enter Yon Augenn City.
Naturally, Zeth found her master’s thoughts quite amusing. Shye often had to behave far more maturely than his age.
Thus, the Duchess of the Dusk cherished these rare moments when he acted his age or even a bit younger.
“Woohoo! Master! Can I walk around with you?” Nookie asked excitedly.
Of course, with such a hopeful expression, Shye couldn’t bring himself to deny the poor little imp’s request, especially since it had been training non-stop ever since he left it in its first training area within an expert adventurer zone.
Nookie deserved to have a fun break once in a while.
‘Oh well, since it’s Yon Augenn City, there are probably plenty of other familiars and tamed monsters on the streets. Letting the little guy have a fun stroll shouldn’t hurt…’
Arriving at the gates, Shye confidently approached one of the idle guards, eliciting displeased gazes from those who queued up to enter.
However, he had received clear instructions from Blas that he didn’t need to queue up, as it was the WAA that had unexpectedly changed the venue without giving sufficient explanation.
The VIP pass he received before leaving the Valenzia City Lord’s office should be enough to let him bypass the incredibly long queues of the busiest city in the world.
“Hello, sir guard. I would like to skip the queue, please.”
When Shye spoke, the guard’s brows furrowed momentarily but quickly relaxed as he reminded himself to maintain professionalism when dealing with adventurers.
After all, he was one of the elite eight gate guards of the world’s top-ranked city.
He couldn’t behave like just any pot-bellied guard, looking down on those from elsewhere.
“I see, may I please see your recommendation letter or Yon Augenn VIP Pass?”
“Here’s my Yon Augenn VIP Pass…”
The guard nodded at Shye and took the pass.
Then, after verifying its authenticity and confirming that his familiar and tamed monster was registered, the guard granted them entry.
“Right this way, Sir Crowley.”
The pass was only valid for two weeks.
Nonetheless, it was enough to make everyone curious as to who he was.
After all, only Yon Augenn’s titled adventurers, both local and foreign heroes, and a select few important individuals from the WAA had such passes.
Only, such a city also had a few ill-tempered individuals and rotten eggs; and since he entered in such a flashy way, he captured the attention of a few such people.
Bleeps sounded from random areas in the long queue as adventurers contacted their friends inside the city and in the city’s periphery.
“Hey, brother Lee, if you see an ashen-haired youngster around his early twenties, follow him and obtain as much information as you could, I’ll pay.”
“Righty’o!”

Naturally, Shye knew his entrance was quite high-profile, but he didn’t mind.
His youthful appearance often led others to underestimate him.
He intended to remain in the city, wait for his inauguration, and only leave once he had his hero crest.
If anyone tried to stop him from returning to Valenzia City, they would make excellent targets for him to test his strength after officially becoming Valenzia’s first hero.
After walking for a while, Shye finally passed the guard station, giving him his first full view of Yon Augenn City in all its grandeur and majesty.
It was mind-boggling—a city seemingly coming straight out of a fairy tale.
Children, adventurers, and everyday workers all had smiles on their faces as they moved along the elegantly constructed, wide streets—twice the width of those in Valenzia City.
Skyscrapers, designed with architecture seemingly decades ahead of their time, were abundant and luxurious, allowing businesses of all kinds to thrive.
Despite the sheer number of people that would overwhelm Valenzia City, Yon Augenn City felt surprisingly spacious.
It was as if a higher being had cast a spell on those who entered, convincing them that there was just the right number of people to keep the streets lively without feeling overcrowded.
What immediately caught Shye’s attention, however, were the enormous transparent bubbles drifting through the air.
Some of these bubbles contained various devices, while city security officers manned others.
He had never seen anything like them before.
‘Sigh… can Valenzia even hope to match a city like this?’ Shye thought, sighing with a mix of awe and slight disappointment.
It seemed unlikely that Valenzia could ever reach such a level, or even be mentioned in the same breath as Yon Augenn.
Blas would need to implement many reforms over the coming decades and significantly expand the city’s total area if they wanted to even have a chance.
After standing dumbstruck right at the entrance, Shye suddenly remembered that he was about to become Valenzia’s first hero.
He couldn’t lose face for the region by acting like a hillbilly; and so, the trio proceeded to walk further inside the city.
There were plenty of adventurers with familiars and tamed monsters, some even taller than Zeth, allowing them to move around freely without causing much of a stir.
He still had three days before his inauguration ceremony, so it would be a shame not to explore the city.
Besides, he had already arranged to broadcast the event, and Blas had promised to use the official channel of the WAA Valenzia to stream the ceremony, potentially boosting his viewership and earning him extra system points.
‘What could go wrong? For now, I’ll just enjoy myself!’
