Chapter 621: The Legendary Battle
“What? Let me see too!”
Even the usually lazy Reginald’s eyes widened at Shye’s words. He quickly sprinted over to Shye, eager to watch.
This hunt was the most celebrated one in the entire world.
Unfortunately, the WAA permitted only a hundred copies of the full battle to be sold in select shops, and they were priced extremely high.
It was simply impossible for youngsters of today to purchase one as all one hundred copies had already been sold long ago.
Shye didn’t expect that the old baldy would whip one out as though it was nothing.

Dark clouds loomed over what had once been a peaceful and prosperous city, while black lightning struck unpredictably—fierce, violent, and terrifying, filling the air with the acrid smell of burnt flesh and concrete.
Skyscrapers collapsed, clouds of dust billowed, and rubbles flew everywhere as though a doomsday meteor.
It was a scene of utter chaos and havoc as citizens, and even adventurers fled for their lives, their mortal bodies shaking at the sight of an enormous and terrifyingly majestic black creature.
It hovered hundreds of feet into the sky, looking down on everyone with its starry, blackish-blue eyes that seemed to peer through one’s very soul.
Yet, despite the height at which the creature flew, its shadow still covered much of Yon Augenn City.
It made the top-ranked city in the world, home to the WAA’s Main Headquarters, appear no more significant than a random adventurer city one might pass by regularly.
A ruined version, even.
‘The Black Dragon!’ Shye thought as his body shivered at the sight of the monstrous deity.
It was clearly enraged, or at least manipulated into a state of rage, as it suddenly opened its colossal maw.
A massive sphere of black, infernal flames erupted from it, crashing down with devastating force and obliterating all the buildings on Yon Augenn City’s third and fourth streets.
Nothing was left but ashes, even items resistant to flames were reduced to nothing.
However, despite the terrifying devastation, seven adventurers of varying ages—all bearing heroic crests on different parts of their bodies—stood firm, courageously facing the airborne, black horror staring straight at them from above.
They were naturally scared; like the others, they were mere mortals, their hearts racing.
Yet, they stayed true to the oath they had sworn: to support the sky when it began to collapse.
“Liiseon, Sanada, Leif, Vidarr, Elune, Aeryth! Today, we face the greatest of challenges, none like we’ve faced before! However, like any other day, we, the Yon Augenn Seven, shall prevail!” The young Dweezel, leader of the Yon Augenn Seven, exclaimed heroically, his sense of justice and duty overcoming the fear in his heart.
“Assume your positions!”
At least, that’s how it appeared in the recording.
No one would have guessed that this person would become one of the most malevolent of beings, even a monstrous deity falling prey to his sinister cunning, the entire world tricked for decades to come.
Upon hearing their leader’s opening words and battle cry, the seven heroes vanished in an instant, only to reappear in their positions in the sky, even Dweezel and Vidarr—both warriors—somehow managing to achieve flight.
It was a mysterious yet exciting sight.
However, Shye and Reginald were dragged violently back to reality the next moment.
As impressive as the Yon Augenn Seven’s formation was, it was shattered in an instant by a single swipe of the Black Dragon’s claw—a blurred strike as swift as the movement speed of top-tier scouts.
It seemed impossible for a creature of such massive size to move that quickly.

Naturally, the two youngsters were in complete disbelief after witnessing the strike that sent the two frontline warriors crashing back down to earth, their fate uncertain.
Well, technically not so uncertain, as one of them was very much alive and had become a scheming bastard who continued to wreak havoc on the world to this day.
“Dweezel! Vidarr!” The other heroes exclaimed worriedly in unison, their little hearts trembling upon getting a taste of a deity’s power.
Even young Sanada was no exception.
“Wait, is that mage the old man?” Reginald suddenly asked, slightly easing the tense atmosphere.
“Yeah, I think it is. Who else could it be? So, he actually had hair back then…” Shye replied, his focus completely captivated by the expression on young Sanada’s face.
The two youngsters then continued to converse in whispers.
“Still…isn’t he…a bit too ugly? Shouldn’t heroes have, you know, at least your level of good looks?”
“Yeah, even Albus Verona of the Poison Cloud was pretty decent-looking compared to the old man in his prime.”
“Wait, can you even call that his ‘prime’? Wouldn’t the older version be more attractive? At least the older one seemed more mature, right?”
“Yeah, yeah, you might be right…”
Naturally, Sanada could hear them, resulting in his body trembling in anger.
‘These two bastards dare insult my looks?!’
“YOU LITTLE BRATS! GIVE THAT TO ME IF YOU’RE NOT GONNA WATCH SERIOUSLY!!” The old man erupted, attempting to grab the recording crystal in utter fury.
“W-What do you mean?! Aren’t we both watching properly?!” Shye said, equally angry.
Fortunately, he managed to dodge the old man’s swift hand; otherwise, they would lose their once-in-a-lifetime chance to watch the legendary battle.
“C-Calm down, Old man! We’ll try our best to not say anything unnecessary so let us watch properly!” Reginald added, finally earning them a second chance from the fuming old baldy.
“If you two brats dare say one more unnecessary thing, just see if I give in to any of your demands…”
This was the first time Shye saw the old man extremely angry. Hence, he was both satisfied and scared, not daring to spout bullcrap again about the young Sanada’s looks.
Fortunately, their attention was suddenly captured by another massive explosion, this time a purple one.
“Aeryth! Help Dweezel and Vidarr! The rest of you, assist me—I’ll take on this monstrosity!” The young Sanada said with a stoic expression, taking over the reins while Dweezel was out.
His status was clearly high among the seven, as the other three—Liiseon Ashbluff of the Burning Bow, Elune Nightsong of the Luminous Starfall, and Leif Mistvain of the Shadow Slaughter—nodded without hesitation and followed his orders.
Soon after, a moment unfolded that would forever be etched in the minds of Shye and Reginald—one that would deepen their respect for Sanada Eiichiro of the Howling Void.
This was the moment when he earned the nickname “The Voidweaver.”
