Chapter 637: Nookie’s New Training Area
“If only her diabolical naming sense would improve…” Shye sighed as Zeth galloped across the fields outside Valenzia City.
After receiving Darky and Murky from Meido—names he chose not to change out of respect for the young blacksmith who had crafted such masterpieces—Shye promptly used a special return scroll to head back to Valenzia.
From there, he and Nookie rode Zeth toward a desolate Death Zone far from any city.
He chose a location at least two and a half days from Valenzia City to reduce the risk of anyone hunting Nookie—or at least minimize the chances before the little Necrollin could amass a cataclysmic army of corpses as he planned to leave the imp alone to train for an entire year.
With the Stygian Garuda and several other (S) ranked corpses under its control, Shye was confident that Nookie would become an unstoppable force once the war began.
“A sharpness rating of three hundred and twenty, huh?” Shye mused as he summoned one of his greatswords and inspected it while traveling.
His [Legendary] peak adamantite-tier greatswords were far sharper than his previous weapons, Adamance and Mithra, which had sharpness ratings of only one hundred fifty and one hundred twenty, respectively.
With her recently accumulated wealth, Meido had invested in a new sharpness rating device developed by the one and only Manasoft Corporation.
Eager to test it, she wanted to measure and compare the sharpness of her finest creations, bringing more happiness to Shye after finding out that Darky and Murky were the sharpest among her crafts.
Additionally, the swords would become sharper and heavier with each monster he slaughtered.
He couldn’t imagine a better pair of twin greatswords than the ones he had now.
…Half an hour later, the master-monster-familiar trio arrived at the remote Barca Death Zone, where peak-ranked monstrous creatures of all elements roamed freely.
Shye saw no signs of adventurers, which pleased him greatly. This zone was the perfect training ground for little Nookie.
In search of a suitable spot for the little imp’s base and rendezvous point, the trio boldly ventured into the territories of peak (S) ranked creatures, even daring to pass through the edges of a mighty Fire Dragon’s domain.
Much to Shye’s disappointment, eager as he was to test his blades, they encountered no trouble, possibly due to the remote and desolate Barca Death Zone ranking fourth in total area amongst all of Death Zones.
“Hmm… this area appears to be both spacious and secluded enough…” Shye pondered, pleased to find a wide clearing nestled among a cluster of oak and linden trees. “Only…”
According to the map he had bought before entering the Barca Death Zone, they were now in the territory of a fearsome Bloodskin Ogre—an (S) ranked creature capable of inflicting severe injury on even dragons with a single blow.
If not for its relatively low agility for its rank, it would be amongst the most dangerous of creatures, as its strength surpasses even those of the majestic and imperial draconic bloodline.
However, this didn’t mean it was sluggish. Despite its massive size and bulky build, the Bloodskin Ogre was as fast as apex (S-) ranked creatures.
It was only when compared to other (S) ranked monsters that it could be considered slow.
Unfortunately, the defenses of the bracerless corpse of the Stygian Garuda and Nookie’s other (S) ranked monsters would probably have trouble defending against such a monster, causing Shye to hesitate whether he should leave the Bloodskin Ogre to Nookie or help the little necrollin take it down.
After all, it would be tragic if the little imp lost its strongest puppets in exchange for a single Bloodskin Ogre.
“I should help the little guy first…” he thought to himself, which also brought a smile to Zeth’s face.
Both of them appreciated the little Necrollin’s passionate and affectionate nature.
It would be painful to imagine Nookie secretly crying over the loss of its most treasured possessions, especially the Stygian Garuda.
“Searching this vast forest might be a bit challenging, though…”
He had flight and mana pulse so detecting the ogre first was no issue, the problem was that the Bloodskin Ogre’s domain was simply too vast.
It might even take them days just to locate it.
“Well, better than losing (S) ranked puppets, I guess…” Shye muttered.
He was raring to test his blades anyway, and the ogre would be a perfect target, as it would be a relatively slow opponent for him.

“Let’s make you the new master of this area, Nookie.”
“Kekeke, thank you, master!”
The little necrollin was visibly excited to once again start training on its own as it truly enjoyed freedom when growing its corpse army.
Thus, the two once again hopped on Zeth’s back and traveled all over the domain with Shye’s [Mana Pulse] active.
Luckily, only around a day and a half later, Shye’s skill finally detected something.
Based on the pulse, the thing was enormous.
“I think we’ve found it. Everyone, get ready for combat, but hold off on helping until I ask for it, understood?” Shye said, eagerly pulling Darky and Murky from the system’s inventory.
It was time for the twin [Legendary] peak adamantite-tier greatswords to make their debut.
“Yes, master!” both the monster and familiar replied respectfully in unison.
Soon after, Shye leaped from Zeth’s back and charged boldly toward the Bloodskin Ogre, his eyes gleaming with a bloodthirsty glint.
A few moments later, a colossal monster came into view. Standing fifteen meters tall, it had a demonic face, blood-red skin, an intimidatingly muscular build, and wielded a massive wooden club made from an exceptionally rare and durable [Epic-tier] wood.
For typical adamantite-tier adventurer parties, the mere thought of battling such a formidable monster would likely send their hearts racing with anxiety.
For Shye, his heart raced not with anxiety but with sheer excitement.
It was as though the monster was nothing more than prey he could play with at will.
In the next moment, a powerful draconian roar reverberated through the forest as Shye unleashed a fierce cry, not because the skill would aid in defeating the Steelskin Ogre—since it had long been ineffective against (S) ranked monsters—but simply because he was caught up in the moment, feeling like a wild beast.
“Let’s fight, Ogre!”
