Chapter 694: A Bad Idea, A Huge Mistake!
“GLENN SOREN!” The leader of the Yon Augennian youth representatives, Aziel, exclaimed in utter fury, grabbing the young man named Glenn by the collar. “YOU BASTARD! WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS?!”
Challenging a Valenzian wasn’t entirely wrong, as it would mean that if they won, they would be guaranteed a second-place finish.
Only, Aziel wasn’t satisfied with such a result.
He was a true-blooded Yon Augennian. He would never settle for second place.
At present, their enemies were the Fanfirians, and with the sudden realization that the Deltrans couldn’t be trusted to reliably deal with the young brats from Fanfir, everything now rested on their shoulders.
Their fate was in their own hands—what more could they want?
Well, Glenn, for one, had other priorities: avenging Claudius’ defeat and humiliating the foul-mouthed dwarf from Valenzia.
“Let me go, Aziel!” Glenn snarled through gritted teeth, just as furious. “We only need to hand the Fanfirians two losses, right? So why can’t I challenge who I want when there are still two others who can fight?! And you call yourself a Yon Augennian? What about Claudius’ defeat and the insults that dwarf over there has thrown at us? Are we just supposed to let that slide?!”
Aziel was indeed a Yon Augennian who would never settle for second place.
However, Glenn’s words also reminded him that they had suffered both a loss and some insults at the hands of the Valenzians—something he was reluctant to let slide.
Again, why settle for one when you can have both?
They were from Yon Augenn—sons and daughters of heaven.
They needed to emerge victorious without letting a single loss or insult go unanswered.
Realizing this, Aziel reluctantly let go of Glenn, allowing him to proceed with his challenge.
They still had two competitors remaining, one of whom was himself, while the other was Gefjun—a scout-class adventurer who ranked among the top in their group when it came to dueling skills.
It was clear that it would be better for Glenn to avenge their earlier defeat.
If all three of them succeeded, Yon Augenn could salvage what might have been one of the most disastrous Heroes’ Banquets their region’s youth and heroes had ever attended.
After all, in the past, they’ve always secured first-place rewards with a record of ten wins and zero losses.
Their region rarely lost a match, even against the fierce and highly competitive Deltrans.
Losing to the Fanfirians was nothing short of a complete disaster.
After successfully convincing Aziel, Glenn gave a wicked smile and turned his cold glare back toward Seira.
However, the midget’s newfound resolve held strong, allowing her to meet his gaze without flinching.
Both competitors walked towards their respective weapon racks, selecting blunted weapons of their choice.
Glenn was a young man with gray hair, rather below-average facial features, and a well-built physique comparable to that of Shye and Siegfried.
His choice of a two-handed mace also made it obvious that he relied on raw power to overwhelm his opponents and seize the advantage.
While this style might be easily exploited by nimble-footed scouts, it gave him a significant edge in battles against other warriors, who weren’t as fast.
Meanwhile, the grape-haired midget opted for an enormous blunted greatsword—one that towered over her, drawing shocked and curious reactions from the youths of the other regions.
Judging from her attire, they knew she was a warrior.
However, none of them anticipated that she was a power type, particularly given her small stature.
Most assumed she would be a shielder, as her size would make it easier for her to defend herself behind a tower shield.

“Hahahaha! You’re a power type? Hilarious! That greatsword is taller than you! Are you sure you can wield it?” Glenn mocked, causing veins to pop up at the sides of Seira’s head.
“Hah! Shut up, you bird-brained, donkey-faced lackey! Your breath stinks from your speaking bullcrap all the time! Weren’t you supposed to follow your leader’s plan? Why are you so eager to avenge your loser friend? Could it be that you’re actually his little girlfriend?” Seira shot back sharply, nearly causing Glenn to spit out blood in his extreme fury.
Upon hearing Seira’s ruthless comeback, everyone at the Valenzia table, including Belford, stifled their laughter, which only fueled Glenn’s anger further.
“Y-YOU!! L-LITTLE THING!! WHAT DID YOU JUST CALL ME?! I DARE YOU TO SAY IT AGAIN!!”
“HAHAHAHA! Are you a masochist? Well then, let me insult you again since you seem to enjoy it so much. I said you’re an idiot, ugly, your breath stinks and your bizarre eagerness to avenge your friend makes it look like you’re his little girlfriend. Oh, or am I actually right on the money? NYAHAHAHA!”
Seira’s annoyingly loud laughter seemed to possess a [Legendary]-tier talent for infuriating everyone on the receiving end.
Heck, even Shye Crowley of the Black Dawn, known for his equally sharp tongue and vicious mouth, couldn’t guarantee that he would win against the ultimate underling in a verbal exchange.
A silver-spoon baby like Glenn, who was rarely on the receiving end of insults, simply stood no chance.
He should never have challenged Seira in a war of words.
“YOU LITTLE B*TCH!! SEE HOW I TAKE CARE OF YOU!!”
Extremely enraged, the Yon Augennian charged at the midget, causing distress for the moderator, who was forced to start the match.
“B-B-Begin!”
Meanwhile, Shye maintained a relaxed expression as he watched Seira charge right back at Glenn, her face displaying a rare determination and eagerness to prove to herself that she was no longer the person she used to be, but instead as strong as her boss claimed and as her comrades from Valenzia had suggested.
“Blow them away, Seira!” Shye muttered with a grin as he watched the two young warriors approach each other.
In the next moment, the two-handed mace and greatsword collided, producing a loud clanging sound that echoed in everyone’s ears.
This was followed by the noise of someone skidding backward several meters and the shocked gasps of the onlookers.
Glenn was the one who lost the first clash; his arms were numb and shaking after experiencing Seira’s strength.
