Chapter 695: Relentless Assault
“No way, Glenn…lost the clash? How could that damn shorty be so strong?” A Yon Augennian youngster remarked in disbelief.
They were well aware of Glenn’s overwhelming strength, which was quite deceptive given that his physique wasn’t as massive as that of most power-type warriors.
It was truly shocking for them that he lost in terms of strength to a midget.
For Shye, however, this was the expected outcome.
After all, he possessed the ever-omniscient appraisal skill and already knew that Seira surpassed Glenn in the strength attribute.
Their other attributes were fairly equal, though, with Glenn having a slight advantage in terms of intelligence, dexterity, agility, and vitality.
The battle was still anyone’s game.
Nonetheless, it was nothing short of impressive, especially considering that Seira, once a mere nobody in the Raven’s Blade Balkrow Branch, could now compare herself to the brightest of the younger generation in the entire world.
It was a miracle that would never have happened to ninety-nine point nine percent of the mediocre individuals.
How did she achieve this? Through Shye’s system, of course, as she had only benefited less from it when compared to Shirley and Maia.
She acquired a substantial number of skill books and rare tonics from the system, which would be incredibly difficult to find in a realistic scenario.
For example, the [Stoic] skill was classified as a [Common]-tier skill, yet it was nearly nonexistent in other cities across the Valenzia Region, only available in Valenzia and Roddentrodge City.
In fact, even if it could be found, only individuals with a certain level of fame, rank, or luck could purchase it from the most prominent shops in those cities.
Diamond-ranked adventurers and above with sufficient funds, for instance, could easily acquire the skill in Roddentrodge City or other regions.
This was why the deans and instructors at Colzen more or less accepted that Shye possessed the skill during his academy days, believing it had been given to him by his Diamond-ranked parents before they went missing.
For Seira, however, it would’ve been a miracle for her to obtain such a skill had it not been for Shye and the Flashy Adventurer System.
In addition to this, Shye regularly provided her with a substantial supply of high-grade training tonics, which she would have had to save for weeks to afford even one.
However, she started to depend more on herself after consistently winning a considerable amount of gold coins from betting on her ever-reliable boss’ victories.
Just earlier today, when Ian won, she doubled her gold coin reserves, enabling her to buy more training materials, equipment, and skill books for herself.
She was now thriving as an adventurer, unlike when she had been on her own.
All she needed was a little support for her true talents to bloom like an evening primrose.
Meanwhile, Glenn gritted his teeth in frustration.
He couldn’t believe he lost in the first clash.
Consequently, he subconsciously made excuses for himself, convincing himself that Seira must have used some kind of skill to overpower him in strength.
Glenn simply refused to accept that Seira was stronger than he was.
Charging again, he swung his two-handed mace at his smaller opponent, this time utilizing [Power Smash] to enhance his attack.
Naturally, Seira did the same.
‘Power Slash!’ she inwardly exclaimed, activating the skill.
The blunted greatsword gleamed with a transparent sheen, slashing through the air as it advanced to intercept Glenn’s attack.
*CLANG!*

The familiar ear-rending metallic noise rang true as the two weapons clashed.
The Yon Augennians expected a different outcome, but unfortunately, it remained the same. Glenn was blown back around three meters.
“F*CK!* Glenn cursed at the wind, finding it difficult to accept that his earlier defeat wasn’t a fluke.
Such a small disparity wasn’t a significant issue in a warrior-versus-warrior match, though, as combat technique also plays a crucial role in the battle.
It was just that a power-type warrior’s pride would be bruised after being defeated by an opponent in a direct strength comparison, especially if they were accustomed to winning.
Once Glenn managed to move on, the battle would be anybody’s game once more.
However, for now, Seira held the mental advantage.
The midget pressed forth and slashed her greatsword once more, not giving her opponent any time to recover.
‘Half-moon slash!’
A five-meter-tall silver slash mark emerged from Seira’s greatsword, shooting straight toward the slightly disoriented Glenn, snapping him out of his inner denials.
‘Tch! Warlord Strike!’
The Yon Augennian countered immediately, swinging his mace—now engulfed in a menacing red aura—at the incoming slash mark, effortlessly shattering it back to mere mana and stamina particles.
Only, he hadn’t expected the midget to be so relentless.
After shattering the silver projectile, a cute yet annoying face greeted him, her greatsword in a downward slashing motion.
‘Enhance Strength!’ Seira thought as she powered herself up for the attack.
It was a common self-buff skill, so the boost was relatively minor.
However, to Glenn, it was anything but insignificant, as he was still preoccupied with the fact that he had lost in terms of strength and was unprepared for the attack.
All he could do was hold both ends of his mace’s metal shaft and raise it horizontally to defend himself.
*CLANG!*
Another ear-piercing noise sounded as Seira’s greatsword made contact with Glenn’s mace.
“Puhahk!”
The Yon Augennian staggered, sustaining light internal injuries and coughing up a bit of blood, which reignited Seira’s excitement.
Then, using the force of the clash, she pushed him slightly backward and landed directly in front of him—well within striking distance.
This was her chance!
Seira, aiming to overwhelm Glenn with a barrage of fierce attacks, immediately followed up with another strike.
This time, she employed [Mighty Swing Lv.5 (Uncommon)] in an attempt to inflict massive damage on her Yon Augennian opponent.
Seeing this, the flames of anger surged in Glenn’s heart, causing him to finally shake off the dejection and disappointment he had been feeling.
“You’re getting way ahead of yourself, Midget!!” the Yon Augennian roared, immediately unleashing one of his [Rare] skills as he swung his mace wildly, proper form and posture be damned.
A red, ancient rune appeared on both of Glenn’s arms, exponentially increasing his strength.
As a result, the instant their weapons collided, Seira was sent flying about ten meters backward, skidding for a significant distance before finally regaining her footing—her greatsword leaving a trail on the ground as she used it to help balance herself.
‘Ahh, crap, that was heavy…’ Seira thought as she examined her hands and forearms, which were still shaking and numb from the clash.
