Chapter 700: Heaven’s Judgment
“Please surrender, Sir Oriel. I really don’t want to keep hitting you,” Wendy said earnestly.
Unfortunately, her naturally cold expression made her appear arrogant, undermining her sincerity.
As a result, even though Oriel knew he had lost, he refused to surrender, taking his shamelessness to a whole new level instead.
“Hmph! Why would I surrender? Go ahead, keep hitting me like the violent person you are, oh holy priestess Wendy Primrose! I’ll never surrender—not to someone like you! If you truly want to stop hitting me, then maybe you should be the one to surrender!” the Fanfirian scout proudly declared, angering the Yon Augennians and a few other youths due to how shameless he was.
The bastard was trying to exploit the Valenzian priestess’ kindness!
*BONK!*
Another loud sound of solid wood squarely hitting someone’s head echoed across the grand halls as Wendy decisively struck Oriel’s head once more.
“AAAGHHK!! That hurts! F*ck!” the Fanfirian scout shouted in frustration and agony
“I might be a bit more naive than my friends, but I’m not stupid, Sir Oriel. Please, just give up,” Wendy replied, her voice tinged with irritation. “I understand how important this win is for your team, but it’s just as important for mine. You’ll only get hurt if you keep resisting, so please…”
“Never!”
*BONK!*
As Wendy “negotiated” with Oriel, someone in the room watched her with intense greed—bordering on obsession: Dweezel Hawkins.
‘Aeryth! Oh, my beloved Aeryth! I’ve finally found the perfect vessel for your soul—a beautiful and extremely talented priestess! Perhaps in this life, as Wendy Primrose, you’ll fall for me!’ the old man thought, his twisted mind already plotting how to claim what his sinister heart desired.
Unfortunately, none of the Valenzians, including Shye, was aware of the bastard’s plan.
“I’m running out of patience, Sir Oriel. Please, do us both a favor and surrender. Otherwise, I’ll have no choice but to finish you off, and I’d rather not if I can avoid it,” Wendy said, her naturally cold expression growing even icier.
It was rare to see Wendy angry, which only amused Siegfried and the others.
The shameless Fanfirian was far too skilled at pushing her to the edge of her patience. He was a natural at pissing people off.
“Hah! Keep dreaming! If you won’t surrender, then let’s waste each other’s time! I can do this all day!”
These last few sentences were the final straw that broke the camel’s back.
Wendy and Oriel had been “negotiating” for the past hour, and the former finally couldn’t stand the latter’s shamelessness.
Because of her excessive kindness, honesty, and naivety, the Valenzian priestess had gone through a lot during her two years at the Raven’s Blade branch—mostly negative experiences that allowed her to see the cruelness and reality of the world, forcing her to learn and grow.
Yet, she had never seen an individual as shameless as the bastard before her.
It was inevitable that her patience would run out.
She had long since abandoned her excessive kindness—bordering on foolishness—after a harsh experience taught her that one should never be too kind to an enemy.
She would do her best to understand others.
However, when her life was at risk or her patience ran out, she wouldn’t hesitate to finish them off.
Yes, she had been forced to kill people with her own hands in the past.
Quite a few, in fact, so Oriel’s case wasn’t among the worst she experienced. This was an easy peasy one for her to solve.
“Fine, since you’re so keen on acting shamelessly, I shall finish you off with my own hands,” Wendy said icily, stepping twenty meters away from the location where the scout was bound by her mana chains.
She then started chanting, an enormous, golden mana circle slowly forming beneath her and above Oriel.

The next moment, the Fanfirian scout felt the hairs on his body stand on end as holy energy gathered above him.
“Heaven’s Judgment,” Wendy muttered coldly.
A horrifying, golden ray then emerged from the magic circle above Oriel, aiming to erase him from the face of the earth.
“Crap!” the Fanfirian heroes thought in unison, as their priest hero was forced to leap into action.
A thick barrier materialized above the horrified Oriel, successfully shielding him from the obliteration ray—though only for a few moments.
To the Fanfirian priest hero’s disbelief, his powerful barrier—strong enough to protect his allies from even the fiercest (S) ranked monsters—shattered into a thousand fragments, dissolving into blue mana particles.
“Oriel!” the Fanfirian scout hero shouted in panic.
He was the one who had brought Oriel there, and it would be a disaster if he died in what was supposed to be a simple sparring match—especially since the scout hero had already been considering whether to train Oriel as his successor.
“HIIIIHHH!! I APOLOGIZE!! I SURRENDER! I SURRENDER!!!”
Fortunately for both sides, the fear of death proved highly effective in bringing someone to their senses.
The shameless Fanfirian scout representative, overwhelmed with terror, wet himself as he frantically declared his surrender.
In the next moment, the terrifying blast, which had promised a cold and complete obliteration, suddenly transformed into a warm, heavenly ray that fully restored Oriel’s health.
The blood dripping from his head, caused by repeated strikes from the wooden staff, also vanished entirely.
Seeing the turn of events, Shye let out a sigh of relief.
Even he hadn’t anticipated that Wendy’s offensive trump card would be so powerful—it could have resulted in Oriel’s death, despite her using an old low-tier life staff.
The only drawback was that hitting the target with it would be nearly impossible unless the target was completely immobilized.
Nonetheless, it was nothing short of terrifying, and even Shye knew that he would have to use his trusty [Barrier of the Condemned] to defend against it.
“Phew…” Wendy breathed a sigh of relief.
Targeting someone with [Heaven’s Judgment Lv.5 (Epic)] was incredibly stressful for Wendy, and she was relieved that the Fanfirian priest hero bought enough time for Oriel to surrender.
In truth, she had always intended to activate her trump card’s subskill, [Innocent], at the last moment, as there was no way she could kill someone in a mere sparring match.
She was just glad her bluff had worked, achieving the result she wanted.
“Thank you for letting me win, Sir Oriel.”
