Chapter 712: Some Spicy Bullsh*t
“Thank you for your participation, Sir Van Smolders of the Roaring Flame and Lady Axelle Vespertine of the Scorching Luminosity,” Scarlet said, offering a deep, respectful bow before turning her focus to the live recording crystal.
“What an incredible match between our dashing young hero from Hakk’Shatta and our gorgeous young heroine from Deltra!! Based on the result, I believe it’s safe to say neither of them is the weakest among the four strongest!”
“After the brilliant display of abilities from Sir Van and Lady Axelle, let’s hear from our remaining two young heroes!” Scarlet continued. “Sir Alexander Aphelion of the Boundless Shadows, after witnessing the clash between the roaring flames and the scorching luminosity, who do you believe is the weakest now?”
Alexander responded with nothing but a cold, arrogant glance, refusing to meet the moderator’s eyes, though he still answered verbally shortly after.
“Hmm, it’s hard to say for certain. But let’s not overlook the fact that one of them hails from a higher-ranked region. Since the battle had ended in a draw, it would suggest that the one from the lower-ranked region might be a bit more talented than their opponent from the higher-ranked region.”
Naturally, after hearing Alexander Aphelion’s response, the flames of anger roared inside Axelle Vespertine’s heart.
Her perceived rival was calling her the least talented and weakest!
“Hmph, instead of just letting your stinky mouth fly, why not prove it with your actions instead?” Axelle snorted, utterly unconvinced that she was the weakest and least talented among the four.
Unfortunately, Alexander simply dismissed her sharp remark, fueling Axelle’s frustration even more.
The two had sparred once before, back when they were around thirteen or fourteen years old.
More than a decade had passed since that encounter, yet Axelle still vividly remembered the sting of her first and only defeat.
Ever since, she had pushed herself to the limit, determined to avenge her loss against Alexander.
Naturally, she was frustrated that her battle with Van ended in a draw.
But that frustration paled in comparison to being labeled the least talented by the one person who had ever defeated her.
‘Hey, hey, aren’t you guys supposed to be calling me the weakest, or a country bumpkin or something? Why am I being ignored?!’
Meanwhile, a certain ashen-haired young hero was thoroughly confused by what was unfolding.
Shye’s sharp tongue was itching for a verbal spar, but to his disappointment, none of the other three seemed interested in making him their target at the moment.
What a letdown!
‘Hmph! Since it’s like this, then I have to be a bit more proactive! Maybe they’re just deciding things among themselves before coming at me together…’ Shye consoled himself, determined to spout the spiciest bullsh*t he could think of to infuriate the other three.
Fortunately, he didn’t have to wait much longer, as he was next in line for the interview.
“Phew! What fiery exchanges! I’m sure another battle is on the horizon! But before that, let’s hear from our one and only Phoenix Slayer, Shye Crowley of the Black Dawn! Sir, the same question—after witnessing the brilliant clash between Sir Van Smolders and Lady Axelle Vespertine, who do you believe is the weakest among the four of you?”
Upon hearing the question, Shye let out a yawn before responding in the laziest, most uninterested tone he could muster.
“Hmm? Honestly, I don’t care who the weakest is, but if I have to answer your question… that spiky-haired guy would be easy work for me, so I guess he’s the weakest. Sigh… why am I even bothering to answer these questions as if I’m involved…”
Moderator Scarlet was confused after hearing Shye’s response, prompting a follow-up question from her.
“Hmm? With all due respect, Sir Shye Crowley of the Black Dawn, you are involved, aren’t you?”
“Who? Me? Hahahaha! How can I possibly be involved in the discussion about the weakest when I’m clearly the strongest? Seriously, even if those two who fought earlier teamed up, I’d still come out on top,” Shye replied, his tone devoid of arrogance.
It was as if he was merely stating the facts.
Unfortunately, for both Van and Axelle, this was the most infuriating thing they’d ever heard.
“What did you say, you bastard? I dare you to say that again,” Van threatened, his gaze icy and intense.
Naturally, Axelle chimed in next: “Huh?! What are you talking about? Just because you’re being ignored doesn’t mean you’re the strongest. I think the title of bird-brain should belong to you.”

Meanwhile, a faint, mocking grin briefly appeared on Alexander’s face before returning to its usual expression.
As for who the grin was directed at or what it meant, no one could say.
Nonetheless, Shye had succeeded in his goal of provoking the first two, providing him with an excellent opportunity to show off.
However, he didn’t genuinely believe they were weak; in fact, he respected them both a great deal.
It was unfortunate that his circumstances forced him to collect as many points as possible before Sanada brought the sky crashing down on the old, false world of Dweezel, hoping to create a new one filled with a brighter future.
“Hoh, why? Do you want me to prove it? Alright, let’s do this! The two of you against me—what do you say?” Shye enthusiastically replied, prompting gasps and sneers from the youth representatives and a few veteran heroes.
They found it hard to believe and were highly skeptical that he could be so much stronger than the other two, especially after their remarkable display of skill and talent.
After all, there were limits to how much a young person could train and achieve, regardless of their talent.
Unfortunately, it turned out that Shye was a bit too optimistic in his attempt to show off in a two-on-one situation, as, despite their anger, Van and Axelle had no intention of lowering themselves to that level.
In fact, since the two respect each other more now, they’ve decided to team up instead to counter Shye’s confident remark.
“Hmph, you think I would stoop to that level? That’s laughable,” Van Smolders sneered, pausing briefly before adding, “However, I am genuinely curious to find out if your so-called legends are true or if most of them were fabricated to inflate your fame. Therefore, I will fight you one-on-one. Is that acceptable, Axelle?”
“Hmph, fine. I’ll let you deal with this bumpkin hero. I have a score to settle with Alexander anyway.”
Upon hearing the young heroine’s response, a confident smirk spread across the dashing young hero’s face.
“Did you hear that? Stand up, Shye Crowley of the Black Dawn. Let’s see what you’re really made of.”
