Chapter 717: The Four Infamous Groups
“Hahaha! What’s the matter, Alexander the Great? While I’ve spent years pushing myself to the limit, you’ve probably been taking it easy, coasting on your talent! Now, I’ll show you the power of hard work by handing you your first defeat!”
Axelle Vespertine’s triumphant voice rang through the grand halls of Chateau Manor as she leveled her elemental staff at her immobilized opponent.
She began chanting, preparing to unleash one of her signature moves—a spell Shye knew all too well—aiming to finish the battle in under a minute.
If Axelle succeeded, her reputation would soar to new heights.
After chanting for about eight seconds, a terrifying tri-colored beam of concentrated light, no thicker than a pole, shot from the young heroine’s staff, streaking straight toward Alexander.
“Ninth Devastation Ray!”
Strangely, none of the Yon Augennians showed any signs of panic.
Though they watched with puzzled expressions, unsure of how their young hero would break free from the chains and turn the tide, there was no doubt in their eyes that Alexander would survive.
The only question in their minds was “how.”
Fortunately, they wouldn’t have to stress their brains any longer.
As Axelle’s devastation ray pierced through the chained Alexander’s body, the body suddenly turned into a shadow.
The young heroine’s eyes widened at the sight.
Then, the next moment, alarm bells rang in her head as she realized that she had no idea where Alexander was.
Regrettably…
“You realized too late.”
An eerie whisper sounded beside Axelle, prompting her to turn around in a panic.
Unfortunately, her world suddenly spun, and the last thing she saw before slipping into oblivion was an upside-down view of Alexander, grinning, with his peak-adamantite-tier leather boots right in front of her face.
She had been decapitated without even realizing it.
Moments later, Axelle’s body dissolved into an azure ray of light, materializing into her true body outside the blue dome.
Her eyes were blank and hollow, much like Van’s had been after his defeat by Shye.
Still, her mental fortitude far surpassed that of the Roaring Flame Hero.
Hence, although deeply shaken, she maintained enough composure to return to her seat before letting the weight of the loss sink in.
Alexander simply watched her with a sinister grin, turning his attention to Shye the next moment.
“Shye Crowley of the Black Dawn,” he called out, pointing his dagger at the young Valenzian. “Why don’t you come down here and see who’s really stronger?”
Naturally, Shye would never cower from such a challenge.
“Hahaha, fine, I admit that you are indeed capable, Alexander Aphelion of the Boundless Shadows.” He chuckled, retrieving Darky and Murky from the system’s inventory.
However, before he could jump down, a notification popped up in front of him.

Seeing the notification, Shye frowned.
‘So it’s time, huh?’ He thought inwardly, gripping his greatswords tighter.
He had let Regi know the banquet’s location before they departed Valenzia, so Shye more or less anticipated a potential terrorist attack.
Naturally, he prepared for this possibility by providing his friends with peak-tier emergency escape talismans that would teleport them right back to Valenzia City, though this didn’t include Siegfried and Kiin.
What he gave them were “easter egg” escape talismans.
…In the next moment, explosions erupted around the perimeter of the manor, instantly claiming the lives of about one hundred and fifty adamantite-level guards.
Then, mere seconds later, the walls on the left side of Chateau Manor’s grand halls were blown apart, sending clouds of dust and gray smoke billowing through the air.
As the smoke cleared, the shattered walls revealed a force of sixteen hundred men, all draped in black cloaks.
However, aside from the matching cloak color, the men’s attire varied, with four distinct types of masks and uniforms among them.
Hale Eversong’s eyes widened upon recognizing the insignia on the uniforms.
“Midnight Brigade, Shadow Raid, Sinister, and Hadean Varsa!” Belford exclaimed, standing up from his seat with shaking hands.
These four were the most infamous terrorist groups, and while each wouldn’t stand a chance against the WAA individually, their combined strength made them formidable.
Now, they were indeed uniting forces, deploying an elite strike team of sixteen hundred adamantite-level operatives to eliminate everyone at the venue.
It was in an extremely precarious situation.
Soon enough, sounds of battle erupted from outside the grand halls as the remaining eight-hundred and fifty guards engaged the terrorists’ strike force.
Unfortunately, while this did benefit the heroes and the youth representatives, they still faced seven hundred and fifty elite terrorists.
They needed to hold their ground until reinforcements arrived.
The terrorists were naturally aware of their limited time, so they wasted no time and charged at the youth representatives, targeting the weaker members first before turning their attention to the heroes.
After all, it would be simpler for the terrorists to land hits on the immensely strong heroes if they could force them to protect the weaker youth representatives.
Their plan immediately bore fruit.
The five Kreborian Heroes swiftly lunged in front of their youth representatives with gritted teeth, fully knowing that their youngsters, although skilled, would be overwhelmed if attacked by more than three people.
Unfortunately, everyone in the venue underestimated the capabilities of the terrorists’ elite strike force.
The heroes from the lower-ranked regions believed they could handle at least ten terrorists each, which would allow their youth representatives to face fewer opponents.
However, as it turned out, they could barely defend themselves against six elite terrorists.
The youngsters had no choice but to fend for themselves, at least until the heroes could defeat their foes.
Similar scenes unfolded across various tables, though the Fanfirians, Deltrans, Yon Augennians, and Valenzians held their ground relatively well.
Shye Crowley of the Black Dawn, in particular, was taking on at least twelve terrorists simultaneously and still coming out on top.
By this point, the broadcast had already been halted.
The WAA could not permit this information to spread, as it would not only damage their reputation but also incite panic among the masses.
“HIIIH! UUGHKK!!”
Warm, crimson blood sprayed across the ground as a young Kreborian collapsed, his eyes vacant and lifeless while blood gushed in alarming amounts from the deep gash on his chest.
Just a few moments later, the boy succumbed to his injuries.
Witnessing this, the Kreborian Heroes gritted their teeth in frustration, immediately attributing the incident to the WAA’s negligence.
The ten youngsters they brought were the cream of the crop of their region.
Although they fell a bit short compared to the youth representatives of other regions, it didn’t change the fact that they were among the best Krebori had.
This was a tremendous loss for their region.
Soon after, youth representatives from various low-ranked regions were overwhelmed one after the other, finally prompting a certain someone to take action.
