Chapter 745: The Eternal Frost, The Immortal Radiance, and The Sanguine Eve
“Our newest heroine likely needs no introduction, as she had been safeguarding the skies of Valenzia long before our first hero, Shye Crowley of the Black Dawn, arrived to share the load. She tackled one threat after another, clearing mana dungeons and even joining in the hunt for the Phoenix. Naturally, the WAA granted her hero candidate status upon her request, as she was already more than qualified for the role.”
“Subsequently, we assigned her three special missions, each approved by headquarters in Yon Augenn City, all of which she completed flawlessly. Her efforts greatly boosted the stability and security of our region. This remarkable young woman cleared an (S-) ranked lord dungeon, recovering the lord’s core; hunted the demi-mythical creature, the Southern Caladrius; and tracked down and eradicated the Brutish Braves, a notorious bandit group that had persistently disrupted trade routes between our region’s two largest cities.”
“She was once known as Frozen End, but not anymore…No. Let us all offer thunderous applause for our new mage hero, Elysia Icebourne of the Eternal Frost!”
Elysia had long been famous throughout the region, as she was the youngest titled adventurer in history and was hailed as the most talented youngster Valenzia had ever seen before Shye took that title from her.
Hence, people cheered their hearts out and clapped their hands numb in utter elation, extremely glad to finally have her stand side by side with Shye.
After a minute, the cheers slowly died down.
Elysia then offered the crowd a sincere bow before sitting on her designated plush seat.
Belford proceeded with the ceremony, glancing at the two youngsters—around the same age as Shye—which prompted the crowd to do the same.
Very few know of Shirley and Wendy’s small reputation within Valenzia, and even those few people knew little about them.
Aside from their former membership in a well-known adamantite-ranked party from Valenzia’s now tenth-ranked division and their appearance at the heroes’ banquet—where a few sharp-eyed viewers recognized them in the broadcast—little else was known about them.
Hence, the fact that they were now about to be inaugurated as heroes felt wild to them.
‘Who the hell are these two?’ was the question that surfaced in their minds, mixed with thoughts like, “They’re so gorgeous, they must have done plenty behind the scenes to earn their spots!”
People had never been so eager to listen to Belford’s ramblings before.
“Now, I’m sure everyone is curious about who these two young women are, as their talents are something even I only recently came to know,” the director began. “But rest assured, I’ve assigned each of them three special missions—just as challenging as those given to Elysia Icebourne of the Eternal Frost—to prove they truly deserve their places as heroes.”
“For their first mission, these two successfully cleared one of the most infamous (S-) ranked mana dungeons in our region: the Baramun Mana Dungeon. As everyone knows, only those twenty-five years old and younger are permitted entry. Additionally, only three individuals are allowed to enter at a time, making it one of the most difficult dungeons to conquer. The dungeon was quickly approaching the threat level of the recently cleared Ambrose Mana Dungeon. If not for these two, the Baramun Mana Dungeon would have evolved into an (S) ranked dungeon in just a few months.”
Upon hearing the old director’s words, the citizens of Valenzia nodded in admiration and awe.
It was truly an accomplishment worthy of being called the work of a regional hero.
Witnessing this, the old director nodded with a smile before continuing:
“For their second mission, these two were tasked with investigating reports of the Thunder Dragon Emperor’s sightings, putting their lives on the line to determine whether the emperor was truly migrating within our region’s borders. They ventured into the ruins of the Shahmdad Temple, where they confirmed that the emperor, along with his thirty underling dragons and broods, had made it their new home. We, the WAA, will make this location public to prevent unnecessary casualties, and, of course, we will assemble a force of high-ranked adventurers to attempt to drive them back to the nearest Death Zone.”
A sizable number of people in the crowd shivered in horror upon hearing Wendy and Shirley’s second mission.
Everyone knew that Thunder Dragons were one of the most dangerous species of the draconic race, not only because of their immense power but also because they were the fastest flyers among dragons.
Naturally, the emperor of these dragons is one of the fastest, if not the fastest, creatures not only in the region but possibly in the entire world.
One could only imagine the fate of the two young women had they been discovered.
After all, the dragon race has extremely sharp senses, and if the two young ladies hadn’t been skilled enough, there was a high chance they would have perished during the mission.
Just two of Wendy and Shirley’s achievements were enough for the crowd to deem them worthy of being regional heroes.
Thus, when it was revealed that the two had also infiltrated the Third Headquarters of the infamous terrorist group Midnight Raid, eliminating their vice leader along with several hundred terrorists, some people in the crowd couldn’t help but gasp in utter shock and disbelief.
Everyone knew how scummy Midnight Raid was.
If Wendy and Shirley failed, then they would’ve wished they were dead instead.
“I understand that everyone is surprised by the sudden rise of these two young heroines,” Belford continued. “However, as time goes on, everyone will come to know them better, as the WAA will be broadcasting their future accomplishments not only across the region but, if it’s significant enough, to the entire world.”
After recounting the two’s accomplishments, Belford signaled for Shirley and Wendy to kneel, prompting four high-ranked WAA mages to rise and approach.

In their hands were crests, each crafted from a fragment of the divinities of every god and goddess, as well as the two deities: The Black Dragon of Destruction and the White Dragon of Creation.
There were only seventy of them in the entire world—seven for each region.
These crests could be extracted once a hero retired, allowing them to be passed down to the next generation with a portion of the previous hero’s attributes.
This meant that the more times a crest was passed on, the stronger it became.
Unfortunately for the heroes of Valenzia, they were the first to bear the Valenzian Hero Crests, meaning the attribute boost granted by the crests was naturally lower compared to those from other regions.
Nonetheless, it was nothing to scoff at.
The engraver mages swiftly began the ceremony.
Around five minutes later, a golden crest, adorned with the insignia of the Valenzia Region and a sword piercing through it, materialized behind Shirley and embedded itself into her body.
The same happened with Wendy, but instead of a sword, a golden life staff appeared behind her and engraved itself into her body.
In the next moment, a warm golden ray of light descended from the heavens, as if acknowledging the rise of two new heroes.
The crowd watched in awe, only snapping back to reality after hearing Belford’s old voice.
“Everyone, let’s give a big round of applause and cheer in glee for the rise of our two new heroines, Wendy Primrose of the Immortal Radiance and Shirley Locke of the Sanguine Eve!”
