Chapter 746: Long Lost Sister
With four members on their regional hero roster, the pressure on Belford and the remaining three titled adventurers’ shoulders was significantly eased.
Furthermore, with Elysia no longer in the lineup, Midnight Fang, Piercing Zephyr, and Radiant Sentinel could finally take a few days off—even if only for two or three days.
Still, this was infinitely better than heading out for another mission the same evening they returned from one.
While their earnings would certainly take a hit, it was of little concern to them, as they already had everything they needed financially.
Midnight Fang and Radiant Sentinel were naturally pleased to finally have more time for their families, while Piercing Zephyr now felt motivated to seek a life partner.
Previously, he couldn’t bring himself to pursue this, not only because he had no time but also because of fear that his partner might one day be left behind in this world.
After all, the missions they undertook as titled adventurers were all perilous, if not outright deadly.
“Sigh…Finally…” Shirley sighed in relief. “Elysia is too ruthless…Doesn’t she know how to rest sometimes? I hope she will be lenient with Wendy…”
“Hahaha, I knew it,” Shye laughed. “Froz— I mean, Elysia is definitely like that. Midnight Fang and the other titled adventurers must be pretty happy they can finally take some breaks.”
The couple casually chatted as they rode on Zeth’s back.
They were assigned a mission together—an opportunity Shirley could have only dreamed of in the past.
In her first two missions as a hero, she was assigned to join Elysia in clearing high-ranked mana dungeons, which they completed with minimal effort.
However, Shirley faced a barrage of reprimands from the former titled adventurer due to her lack of experience.
While she was grateful for the many lessons her senior taught her in just two missions, it was also quite stressful.
Elysia was a strict mentor who would even scold her for sleeping twenty minutes less than the ideal amount, insisting that her reflexes wouldn’t be in peak condition and reminding her that proper, efficient rest was part of her duty.
Now, it was Wendy’s turn to go on a mission with such a strict senior.
Shirley could only hope that her poor friend would be able to take it as well as she did.
Unbeknownst to her, Wendy was experiencing something entirely different.
“Are you still hungry? Here, little sister Wendy! Have some more snacks! Y-You can relax for an extra ten minutes… it shouldn’t affect our efficiency too much,” Elysia said, handing Wendy some boiled Steelfeather Ostrich eggs with a gentle gaze and briefly rubbing her head afterward.
The eggs were the priestess’s favorite snack, so Wendy munched on them with gusto, looking absolutely delighted and adorably happy.
If Shirley witnessed this scene, her jaw would drop in disbelief.
‘Where was the strict senior who reprimanded me as if there were no tomorrow?’ she would wonder.
However, there was a reason why Elysia was so fond of Wendy.
Long ago, she, too, had been an orphan in an orphanage.
At just six years old, Elysia was entrusted with the care of a crying baby with white hair and silver eyes.
She looked after the baby as best she could, holding her in her heart as a little sister.
However, two years later, just as the baby had learned to walk and babble a few sentences, an archpriest arrived and adopted her.
Elysia could never forget the look on the archpriest’s face that day, tears streaming down his cheeks.
It was as if the man had found his long-lost daughter, though Elysia couldn’t shake the feeling that this wasn’t the case.
Still, she chose to be happy for her little sister, who had been called Seven at the time.

A few years later, her talent as a chantless mage was discovered, granting her the opportunity to leave the orphanage and begin her own life.
However, it was far from easy.
She was pushed into intense training under a harsh mentor from another region.
While the training made her stronger, it also ingrained in her an unhealthy habit of always pushing herself to the point of exhaustion.
Despite all those years, she never forgot her adorable, white-haired little sister, often wondering how she was doing.
‘Was she living a happy life?’
‘Was she eating and sleeping well?’
‘Did she become an adventurer or not?’
Those were the questions Elysia often asked herself.
It was only about two months ago when she finally laid eyes on Wendy, who was standing on the same stage as her, that all her questions were answered.
She could never forget her innocent silver eyes and beautiful white hair.
Elysia wanted to hug her right then and there.
Fortunately, reason and logic prevailed, helping her realize that Wendy was only two years old at the time and likely forgot her a few months after they parted.
She had to restrain herself for a while.
Naturally, Elysia wanted to be sure that Wendy was truly the little sister in her heart, and not just someone who happened to resemble her.
Hence, she immediately began investigating Wendy’s origins after the inauguration ceremony, quickly discovering that she hailed from Colzen Monastery.
She then looked up the archpriest of the monastery and learned that it was the same man who had adopted her little sister from the orphanage.
Elysia’s heart raced at this revelation.
She couldn’t wait to spend time with Wendy and get to know her better.
Fortunately, after two missions, they were finally assigned together, giving her all the time she needed to dote on Wendy and bond with her.
The Steelfeather Ostrich eggs were her final test.
Elysia remembered how, as a two-year-old, Wendy had been fond of the taste of the Steelfeather Ostrich egg, which had been a reward for a job well done at the orphanage, often asking for more.
Unfortunately, that had been the only egg she had, and as an eight-year-old at the time, it was impossible for her to obtain more.
It broke her heart every time she couldn’t give her the eggs she wanted.
As a result, even as she grew older, Elysia would regularly buy and boil a few Steelfeather Ostrich eggs, keeping them in her spatial bag for this exact moment.
Seeing Wendy enjoy the first boiled egg she handed her with such delight was the final confirmation Elysia needed.
Seven, who was now known as Wendy Primrose of the Immortal Radiance, was her long-lost little sister.
“U-Uhmm… Miss Elysia… d-do you have more Steelfeather Ostrich eggs? I-I’m sorry, it’s just that they’re my favorite snack…” Wendy asked, blushing slightly in embarrassment.
She tried to hold herself back, but unfortunately, the boiled eggs were just too delicious!
“O-O-Of course! Here, have another! I have plenty more! In fact, here! You can have all of them!”
