Chapter 752: Throgon’s Overlords
“Hmm… seven overlords, huh?” Shye muttered after hearing the first vital piece of information from the informant.
Apparently, there were seven overlords in the Throgon Death Zone as of a week and a half ago. However, the informant warned him to be vigilant for the potential rise of another overlord, as there were fourteen candidate monsters in the zone.
It wouldn’t be surprising if the seven overlords became eight or nine by the time they entered.
After all, once a monstrous creature consumed the core of another within the same range of combat power, it could easily rise to the same level as the so-called seven overlords, who were probably apex (S)-ranked monsters, or possibly even stronger.
“Indeed, that is correct, Sir Crowley of the Black Dawn,” the informant confirmed. “The seven known overlords currently are the Fire Dragon Emperor, the Wind Dragon Emperor, the mutated Rock Dragon Emperor, the ten-headed Hydra, the Golden Roc, the Stygian Manticore, and the Demonic Monkey King.”
“These seven ruled their own domains, which made up for a total of sixty percent of the entire Throgon Death Zone, leaving only forty percent for the overlord candidates to rule over.”
“The Fire Dragon Emperor leads a formidable force consisting of fifteen fire dragons—ten adults, three young ones, and two elders. Additionally, it commands over ten Durgs—dragons from other species that have chosen to serve under it. Altogether, its army is estimated to number between twenty-five and twenty-seven dragons.”
“The Wind Dragon Emperor is regarded as slightly weaker than the Fire Dragon Emperor. However, thanks to its superior intelligence and speed, more dragons have chosen to serve under it, making its army even more formidable than that of the Fire Dragon Emperor. It commands over twenty wind dragons—all adults, including two elders—along with fifteen Durgs, most of whom are young dragons.”
“These two dragon emperors have clashed multiple times in the past, but with their armies being equal in strength, they could only tolerate each other’s presence for now.”
“The one they couldn’t tolerate was the mutated Rock Dragon Emperor. Despite having an army of thirty-five rock dragons—greater in number—its army was still considered somewhat weaker than the armies of the other two. Of the thirty-five, four were elder dragons, while the rest were adults. Additionally, eight Durgs served the mutated Rock Dragon Emperor.”
Shye was genuinely surprised that a Rock Dragon could rise to the rank of an emperor.
After all, they were considered the weakest among the dragon race, with their only notable trait being their extremely tough scales.
Still, Rock Dragons had never been able to match any other dragon species in one-on-one combat.
This was why the Fire Dragon Emperor and the Wind Dragon Emperor struggled to accept that a mere Rock Dragon was now regarded by humans as their equal.
However, the two emperors refused to join forces to slay the mutated Rock Dragon Emperor, as doing so would mean admitting that the creature was their equal—or worse, superior to them.
Unfortunately, neither emperor could wage an all-out war against the mutated Rock Dragon Emperor to eliminate it and its army, as the victor would incur significant losses.
This would leave the remaining bystander emperor with the perfect opportunity to defeat the weakened winner and claim the title of ultimate dragon emperor in the Throgon Death Zone.
“I see… thank you for this valuable information,” Shye said with an appreciative nod. “Would it be possible to buy a detailed map of the Throgon Death Zone, complete with accurate territory labels and color markings?”
“Ah, certainly, Sir Crowley of the Black Dawn. There’s no need for payment—I’ll provide it to you free of charge as thanks for your generous tip,” the informant said with a smile.
Regional heroes were huge clients, and he was eager to make a strong impression on Shye and Shirley, hoping they would reach out to him directly in the future for the same kinds of transactions.
Naturally, Shye knew the guy’s intentions, and he was all for it.
“Thanks,” he responded with a smile, accepting the informant’s sincere gesture. “Now then, please continue telling me about the other overlords.”
“Certainly, sir Crowley.”
“The ten-headed Hydra has the weakest army of all the overlords, commanding only fifteen flood dragons and ten sea leviathans. However, it is the hardest to slay, as its domain lies in the Gloomy Seas of the western Throgon Death Zone. That said, it is also the least dangerous, as it only targets adventurers who venture too deep into the sea.” The informant explained the fourth creature.
Shye was intrigued by the last part, so he asked, “Oh? Why would adventurers intentionally venture deep into the sea and seek out danger?”
The informant paused before responding, subtly glancing around for a few moments before turning his attention back to Shye and Shirley.
“Well…there are rumors…”
“Rumors about what?”
“There’s an ancient city that sank in the Gloomy Seas, said to be filled with treasures beyond anyone’s wildest imagination…”
“Hoh, I see…”

Shye was intrigued by the sunken city, but he also knew this wasn’t the time to risk his life based on mere rumors, hence deciding to push the information to the back of his mind for the moment.
“Please, continue to the next overlords.”
The informant nodded, realizing that Shye wasn’t too interested in the sunken city.
“The next one is the Golden Roc,” the man said, pointing to the mountainous region on the eastern side of the Throgon Death Zone’s map.
“Its domain is the Thunderous Emba Mountain Range. It commands around a hundred Thunder Rocs, which, although smaller and weaker than the subordinates of the dragon emperors, are highly dangerous. They can take turns paralyzing their prey, making escape impossible once caught. This threat extends even to the Dragon Emperors themselves, so none dare disturb the rocs’ hunting grounds.”
Even Shye wouldn’t want to f*ck with the rocs if there was no need for him to.
“I see, please continue.”
“The next overlord is the Stygian Manticore, which commands one hundred and fifty Fire Mane Pumas. While it may not be the strongest, it is far from the weakest in one-on-one combat. Additionally, its army makes it nearly impossible for any single party of adventurers to slay the beast.”
“The last is the enigmatic pegasus, one of the ten mythical creatures. Its domain lies in the Plains of Hazebluff, in the heart of the Throgon Death Zone. While it doesn’t command an army, it has the ability to make any creature obey its will instantly. It is classified as an overlord simply because it is a mythical creature. Its combat abilities remain unknown.”
“Although the plains are considered its domain, as no other overlord dares enter the area, sightings of the pegasus are incredibly rare. It is only drawn to powerful familiar spirits. The last adventurer to encounter the mythical creature was Liiseon Ashbluff, one of the seven Yon Augenn Heroes, who was able to summon the White Tiger king-class familiar spirit as her familiar.”
