Chapter 764: A Grave Warning
“H-Hey, look!”
“Huh? Where?”
“Over there, by the entrance gates! I-It’s Sir Crowley of the Black Dawn and Lady Locke of the Sanguine Eve!”
“Holy sh*t! That’s the king-class familiar, Zeth, the Duchess of the Dusk from the spirit world! But who’s that handsome white steed that’s been honored with the title of Lady Locke’s mount?”
“W-WAIT!! I THINK I’VE SEEN THAT THING IN STORYBOOKS!”
“Y-YEAH, ME TOO, ISN’T THAT T-T-THE PEGASUS?!”
“Huh? Well, it does look like one, but I highly doubt it’s the Pegasus. I mean, isn’t the pegasus supposed to be a mythical creature? Lady Locke would be fortunate just to catch a glimpse of it, let alone tame it…”
Upon arriving at the gates of Valenzia City, Shye, and Shirley, along with their gorgeous mounts, immediately stirred up a commotion.
Everything was going according to plan, though, as Shye wanted to gather as many points as possible to offset the small loss he incurred from purchasing the skill with system points.
He even went so far as to activate a live recording crystal to farm whatever points he could from his channel’s viewers, though he would likely only end up with Shirley’s leftovers, as she was the main star of the show this time.
The system points he earned would likely come from viewers thinking, “Shye Crowley has great taste in women,” or “Shye Crowley managed to win the heart of such an exceptional woman!”
Furthermore, since there had been no prior announcement of his stream, it would take some time for the audience to catch on to Shirley’s accomplishment.
Nonetheless, Shye was adept at the art of showing off.
Hence, this time, he allowed the people to swarm them.
Fortunately, the citizens were mindful enough to keep at least a modest distance from the revered heroes, though there were always a few bold individuals who even dared to lay a hand on Aemorus.
Shye was truly lucky that Aemorus’ love for Zeth went deep.
With one single explanation of why Shye had to show off, the pegasus agreed, even going so far as to flex its muscular equine physique to the crowd.
The commotion lasted for around thirty minutes before Belford got wind of the situation.
The old director then immediately led a group of guards and aides to rescue his heroes.
However, not before Shye amassed 800,000 points—and he continued to gain even more as word of Shirley’s achievements spread, long after he had ended his live broadcast.
After a few more minutes of walking, the group finally reached Belford’s office.
The elderly director dismissed his elite guards and aides, sending them back to their posts.
“Sigh…” Belford sighed in relief and exhaustion. “Crowley, why do you always have to cause such a commotion? Isn’t your fame already at its peak?! There’s no need for the broadcasts, is there?”
The director was naturally perplexed, failing to understand Shye’s actions.
Of course, Shye couldn’t admit that he was doing such a thing to farm system points, so he had to spout some bullshit that would convince Belford.
“W-Well, I apologize for the commotion, Director Belford,” he said, offering the old director a sincere bow. “I was just really proud of Shirley. Besides, d-don’t the people have the right to know how incredible their heroes are? It might help them feel more at ease, knowing they’re well-protected.”
After hearing Shye’s explanation, Belford lost the will to argue.
The reasoning was rather naive and a bit dumb, sure, but there was a fair amount of logic to it.
In the end, the Valenzian director chalked it up to Shye and Shirley’s youth.
After all, what hot-blooded youngster wouldn’t want to show off their achievements?

“Sigh…Fine. B-but let me confirm—i-is this winged white stallion r-really the pegasus? D-did Lady Locke really manage to tame it? I apologize. It’s just that I find such a thing difficult to believe.” Belford asked, slightly stuttering in nervousness.
No one in history has ever managed to tame a mythical creature.
If the magnificent steed before him was truly the pegasus, then he was witnessing the making of history.
This would be another sensational news that could boost his region’s fame and draw the attention of talented adventurers across all regions.
“Yes, I am indeed the mythical creature known as pegasus in this world. However, I also go by the name Aemorus. Nice to meet you, old human.” Aemorus stepped forward and introduced himself, confirming his identity.
Belford was naturally stunned for a few moments.
Only peak-level monstrous creatures could speak the human language, further confirming that Aemorus was the pegasus.
After all, the strongest equine-type creature was the Zephyr Stallion, an (S-) ranked monster.
While powerful, such a creature couldn’t master the human language.
Moreover, the Zephyr Stallion had gray skin and no wings, which made it impossible for the winged, white stallion in front of Belford to be a fraud.
“I-I see,” Belford replied stutteringly, finding it difficult that he was conversing with the renowned mythical creature inside his office. “I-If I may be so rude to ask, w-what compelled you to serve our regional hero, Shirley Locke of the Sanguine Eve?”
“Hahaha! Is that my master’s title? It’s truly fitting for someone as remarkable as her!” Aemorus laughed, putting any doubts in Belford’s mind to rest about whether he had truly been tamed.
Shirley, however, wasn’t fond of undeserved praise, and she was about to speak up and explain how Aemorus had willingly chosen to become her tamed monster due to his eternal loyalty to Zeth—if not for Shye gently hinting for her to stop.
She trusted her lover.
Furthermore, she also knew that some things were better left unsaid, so she decided to just let things continue as they were, even though she felt a bit uncomfortable.
Realizing this, the pegasus smiled, taking the chance to continue.
“As you know, I am a mythical creature of the light attribute, and I am highly attuned to those with righteous hearts. Master Shirley’s kind spirit was like a powerful vortex, drawing me in. Upon recognizing both her remarkable talent and pure heart, I made the decision to serve her and help purge this world of evil.”
On the way to Valenzia City, Shye confided in Aemorus, revealing everything, including the existence of the system.
He was confident that the pegasus could be trusted with such a heavy truth about the world.
Moreover, given the white stallion’s righteous nature, Shye was certain he would be a valuable ally in the mission to save the world.
As an apex creature, Aemorus was highly attuned to the world’s mana and had long sensed that the world was on the brink of ruin.
Shye’s explanation of the truth helped the winged equine piece together his suspicions, leading him to realize that sealing the Black Dragon of Destruction had indeed been a grave mistake.
Naturally, Aemorus now harbored a deep hatred for Dweezel, viewing him as a selfish individual who sought to claim the entire world for himself—an act no creature had the right to undertake.
The pegasus believed that balance was essential for peace.
Since Dweezel Hawkins, a villain disguised as a hero, was threatening to destroy the world they lived in, Aemorus resolved to do everything in his power to stop him.
Equine-type creatures possess an innate talent for discerning lies from truth, and Aemorus immediately recognized that Shye was being truthful, no matter how difficult the revelations were to accept.
The white stallion recognized the WAA as a righteous force that could potentially become an ally.
However, they were regrettably under Dweezel’s influence, ensnared by his exceptional deception.
Aemorus’ words also served as a subtle message to Belford, indicating that, regardless of what the future might bring, he would remain an ally of justice.
Hopefully, the director will remember his words and realize their meaning once the world falls into chaos.
After talking to Belford for a few more minutes, Shye and Shirley headed towards the WAA rewards office to report their quest completion, registering Aemorus as a tamed monster shortly after.
Then, just when the couple was about to leave the WAA Valenzia Headquarters, a notification message popped up in front of Shye.
==
Warning!
Lad, we may need to launch our attacks much sooner than anticipated. The bastard has somehow discovered several of our strongholds and raided them—some have already fallen. I’m not telling you this to alarm you but to instill a sense of urgency. Focus on preparing yourself to exit society; it could happen at any moment.

Noticing the notification, Shye’s expression darkened, which didn’t escape Shirley’s attention.
Seeing her lover frowning as if reading something invisible, she leaned in and whispered, “Shye, is something wrong?”
“Yeah,” Shye replied softly. “The old man told me that some of our headquarters have been raided by Dweezel’s men. He didn’t ask for my help, but he did say we need to speed up our recruitment and get ready to exit society. He also mentioned that our organization might be forced to act sooner than we thought…”
