Chapter 772: Impending Ambush
“Lord Primo, Seventeenth requests an audience.”
Inside a luxurious office adorned with a Hawkin banner hanging on the walls, an elderly man bowed as he reported to a bespectacled, middle-aged man with long blonde hair, a scholarly physique, and handsome facial features accentuated by sharp, hawkish eyes.
“Seventeenth?” the man named Primo responded, narrowing his eyes. “Why is that brat even here? Tell him to come in.”
“Right away, Lord Primo.” the old man in a suit said, exiting the room shortly after.
A few moments later, Seventeenth Hawkling, known by others as Leffen Suntale, entered the room.
He then walked closer to Primo’s desk with hints of shame and anger in his eyes.
“So? Why the hell are you here? You have the simplest job out of all the Hawklings, no?” the middle-aged man asked in a cold voice, making Leffen tremble.
Primo Hawkins, the First Hawkling, had clearly already deduced that he was here to report his failure and was visibly furious.
“P-Primo, Shye Crowley appeared out of nowhere and unexpectedly interrogated me with an orb of truth, causing my mission to fail. H-He also seems to know the existence of our special agent group, calling me a ‘little hawkling’ during the encounter. It’s as if he knew he was being targeted by Lord Father…” Leffen recounted, prompting Primo to narrow his eyes, his cold and calculative mind going active.
However, despite the rather meaningful failure report, the middle-aged man wasn’t about to let Leffen’s disrespect slide.
“Hoh, you dare address me by name? You may be my half-brother, but I am the leader of the Hawklings. Call me Primo again, and I’ll cut off your insolent tongue.” he threatened, glaring coldly at the blonde young man until he shivered in fear before continuing. “You’re dismissed. There’s no need to return to your place of assignment. Return to the Seventeenth Stronghold for now, I’ll let Father know.”

Meanwhile, Shye had already returned to Valenzia City.
After surveying the area and confirming with his [Mana Pulse] skill, he stepped into one of Hadean Varsa’s larger establishments, sending a message to all members of his personal army to gather in the secret meeting room.
As he expected, not everyone could come.
Ian, Wendy, Luna, and Seira were out on missions. Only Kiin, Harry, and David showed up.
The rival mages especially made time for this gathering, since they were anxious about the status of the safety operation of their parents.
Luckily, Shye received confirmation just earlier today that the operations have succeeded, and while it was impossible to abduct Harry and David’s entire clan, the ones dear to the two’s hearts have already been imprisoned at the main headquarters.
On the other hand, Kiin was naturally there to watch Shye’s personal unit’s every move.
He already found one loophole that would allow Dweezel’s men to locate Hadean Varsa’s strongholds and various establishments.
However, it took quite some time for them to realize what he was doing.
He had also basically given them the confirmation of what he was doing by meeting up with them.
His handler had to work hard to decipher his facial signals, though, as Kiin couldn’t speak, not daring to risk his soul being devoured by the Hadean Varsa’s Soul Contract.
He was truly quite fortunate that Dweezel’s men were mostly competent individuals.
Kiin was also the key reason the WAA managed to locate and raid four of Hadean Varsa’s headquarters, enabling Dweezel to gradually dismantle Sanada’s forces.
If not for the old terrorist leader’s decisive choice to abandon the strongholds and avoid heavy casualties, Hadean Varsa’s forces would have needed years to recover before resuming operations.
This delay would have significantly increased the risk of their main headquarters being discovered and raided before they could even strike.
It would’ve been the perfect ending for Kiin, but unfortunately for him, the old terrorist was too competent a leader to fall so easily.
Nonetheless, he had the overwhelming advantage of being in the shadows while his enemy was in the light.
As long as he bided his time and played his cards wisely, he would inevitably end up as the battle’s biggest contributor.

Even now, Kiin was discreetly leaving traces using a special liquid identifiable only to Dweezel’s allies, enabling them to locate this Hadean Varsa establishment.
However, it would take at least a few weeks of preparation before they could launch a raid.
It was a battle of time.
Would Dweezel’s men be able to raid the establishment on time and wipe out Shye’s personal force, or would the personal unit’s members be able to complete their exit preparations first?
After a thorough discussion with every member, it was revealed that only twenty-five were not prepared to leave, as the safety of some of their family members had yet to be secured by the organization.
Naturally, after the secret meeting, Shye immediately contacted his father and mother, asking them for help to speed things up for the twenty-five.
Soon after, he and Shirley met up in the WAA Valenzia Headquarters, as they were summoned for an urgent mission.
Inside a small meeting room…
“…That’s pretty much it. It should be a straightforward mission,” explained Handler Nutter, who had been Shye’s handler since his days as a regional champion.
Shye nodded, leaving the meeting room shortly after.
It turned out that he and Shirley had been assigned different missions, both of which were relatively simple and would take no more than a week to complete.
Nonetheless, the two of them made their way together to the special teleportation formation at Valenzia Square.
It was then that Shye suddenly thought of something.
“Shirley, you go ahead, I have a few preparations to do before leaving.” He said, urging Shirley to go and leave first.
They had different destinations anyway.
“Hmm? Okay then, take care.” She responded before walking towards the formation operator.
After watching his lover disappear through the teleportation formation, Shye headed towards the Valenzia Broadcasting Center, tweaking a few settings on his channel and setting it to [Test Broadcast] before returning to the special teleportation formation at the Valenzia square.
He then greeted the operator, disappearing the next moment as he was transported to his destination.
Finding himself at the hidden Valenzia teleportation formation on the western edge of the region, Shye smirked coldly.
‘So, you’re finally making your move, huh, old snake?’
The mission assigned to him was similar to the one involving the Chellionian assassins hired by Mira Holyfield, the so-called holy priestess and former hero candidate of the region, who had also attempted to assassinate him. He had to walk to his destination, as there were no teleportation formations closer than the one he was at.
With his exceptional intelligence and heightened awareness of Dweezel’s tactics, Shye immediately sensed that an ambush by the old snake’s men was imminent.
