Chapter 782: Three Months
Had Shye been aware of Kiin’s true intentions, he wouldn’t have bothered wasting even a single word in explanation.
Unfortunately, Kiin had recently been cleared of suspicion regarding the identity of the Fifteenth Hawkling, so Shye took the time to explain why they could only attempt to rescue Wendy after three months.
“I asked the old man for help. However, this was the only solution he could offer. He also wouldn’t give me the location of the bastard’s headquarters where Wendy could be. He said that in three months, they would perform a probing attack at the city where the headquarters is hidden. We could then use the attack as a diversion to retrieve Wendy. We could only wait.”
After hearing Shye’s explanation, Kiin said no more.
However, unbeknownst to the others, a sinister plan was brewing in his mind.
The unit members, too, clenched their fists in frustration.
While they also wanted to save Wendy, they knew it would be dangerous. It was indeed better to wait for three months and improve their combat prowess in the meantime.
Seeing that everyone more or less understood his point, Shye moved on to the next agenda of the meeting: the distribution of resources.
Naturally, none of his unit members expected that they were in for a wild surprise.
“Well then, let’s proceed. Again, we will be focusing on training for the next three months, and since you’re all now official members of the organization, I will spare nothing in grooming you.” He began once more, entering a small, separate room inside the meeting room.
His unit members watched him in curiosity, waiting for him to exit the room in anticipation.
A few seconds later, Shye exited the room, carrying two enormous sack bags that dwarfed him in comparison.
The scene looked a bit comical.
Of course, since he couldn’t withdraw the items from the system’s inventory all at once in front of his men, Shye decided to do it inside the small room, making it seem like the items were prepared beforehand.
The right sack bag contained skill booklets, while the left one was full of various training tonics.
He began by opening the bag in his right hand, letting approximately six hundred skill books slide out and reveal their titles.
The books came in two types: one with brown covers and the other with blue.
The brown Skill book’s name was the renowned [Stoic]
On the other hand, the blue skill book contained another renowned skill called [Magic Shield].
Upon mastering it to level five, the skill would reduce magic damage taken by up to sixty percent for eight seconds.
While this was ten percent lower than [Stoic]’s seventy-percent reduction for physical damage, it compensated by lasting three seconds longer than its physical counterpart, making it just as effective in preserving its user’s life.
The reason why Shye prepared a lot of copies was because not all of his unit members possessed such life-saving skills.
After all, although of [Common]-tier, the two skills were always sold out in skill shops, making them exceedingly rare and difficult to purchase in the Valenzia Region.
Moreover, both of them cost around the same as a [Rare]-tier skill book due to the limited opportunities to purchase them.
Fortunately, in the system, Shye could purchase each skill book for only five hundred system points, so all six hundred skill books only set him back a measly three hundred thousand points.
A small price to pay for the immense life-saving value it would provide to his unit members.
With these two skills in their arsenal, the survival rate of his underlings would skyrocket.
“Everyone, fall in line and get one [Stoic] and one [Magic Shield] each.”
Upon hearing the words of their former division leader, now commander, everyone was momentarily dumbfounded before regaining their composure, their hearts racing with excitement.
Who wouldn’t want such hard-to-come-by life-saving skills for free?

Naturally, they sprang into action without hesitation, quickly forming a line as if there wouldn’t be enough for everyone.
After a few minutes, everyone received their skill books, temporarily keeping them inside their spatial bags.
“Is there anyone who didn’t receive a book?” He asked.
When no one responded, he assumed that everyone had gotten theirs.
With this, he proceeded to open the next sack, revealing thousands of small bottles of tonics.
Once again, everyone was astonished for a few seconds, before their hearts were consumed by anticipation.
Their commander said he wouldn’t spare any expense in grooming them.
This could only mean that such peak-grade tonics would fall into their hands for free.
“As you can see, these are peak-grade training tonics.” Shye began. “Each of you will receive five of each type every fifteen days. Use them to maximize your combat power over the next three months.”
There were physical attribute enhancement tonics, mental attribute enhancement tonics, and skill mastery potions.
Regardless of their class, everyone would receive their allotted share every fifteen days.
After all, Shye understood the vital importance of both mana and stamina, no matter the class, as it would also increase one’s survivability.
“For the first two months, none of you are to leave headquarters—focus solely on training in the training rooms. In the final month, you’ll be permitted to hunt monsters in the nearby Death Zones. Additionally, we’ll have another meeting in ten days at the same time and place, understood?”
“Understood, Commander!” the unit responded in unison.
Shye nodded in satisfaction before instructing them to collect their share of training tonics.
He then dismissed everyone, allowing them to return to their training.
Even Shirley and the others did the same as the others and trained inside the training rooms.
For the first time, Shye exited the headquarters through its main gate, holding a detailed map of his location in hand.
The Hadean Varsa Headquarters, as it turned out, was hidden near the border between the Weaven and Hakk’Shatta Regions.
“Let’s see… the nearest city is…”
After studying the map for a moment, he set off toward Araborne City, one of the largest cities in the Weaven Region.
His personal elite unit of three hundred wasn’t the only army he was building.
Now, he intends to grow the other.
